Introduction
As of 31 October 2023, the video titled “campingvideoforirene.mp4” has garnered 91k views, 2.1k likes, and 525 comments on Youtube. From preliminary research and analysis of the video’s origin and circulation on the Internet, it appears that it first appeared on the /k/ board of the 4chan message board, although it is unlikely that the cameraperson herself was the original poster; the video is likely to have been leaked from her phone via the Sophia cyberattack that resulted in serious data breaches in more than a billion electronic devices worldwide. A day later, the video was uploaded to Youtube, and seems to have garnered much attention from cryptozoology and camping enthusiasts, and has been the subject of heated discussion on various forum threads, but has never gained mainstream attention. This is because, as expressed by many Youtube comments, the video is not an authentic recording of the cameraperson’s experience and more likely an attempt at making a found footage genre film. Indeed, the video is heavily edited as many ostensibly separate clips over the course of one day and one night have been spliced together into a single thirty-minute-long clip.
As part of our project in uncovering the modern folklore of the Lasa mountain range, we have been able to track down the original video owner, who only wishes to be known as Wendy, with permission from the relevant authorities. However, she has refused to provide any assistance regarding the video, stating that she prefers to let it remain as a personal film project. Her wife also declined to comment on the video and her reaction to it.
This is a transcript of “campingvideoforirene.mp4” for your convenience.

The video begins in the Lasa forest, with a shot of Wendy facing the camera.
Wendy: So, uh, hi, Irene. I know this was an extremely impromptu trip, but my hands were getting really itchy and I really wanted to, uh, get out here again. I’m uh, about ten kilometers from the road, around the area where I got that bone ring for you. *laughs* That was a pretty bad gift for a housewarming, wasn’t it.
She pauses for a while.
Wendy: Anyway, I just wanted to go out here again. I know you don’t like me venturing so deep into the forest alone… or just coming out here at all. I get it, there’s wild bears and big cats out here, and people get lost all the time. But… I… uh… I wanted to make this video to… uh… um… I sound like a tool saying this, but, I’ve been in these woods since I was a kid, and I know them really well. I’ve trekked across Hangman’s Ridge and to Black Dragon Lake and back without needing GPS or a guide; I think I’m the only person who’s actually done that alone. And- and I’ve gotten lost a few times too, but I know enough to survive out here and I’ve always found my way back. This place is basically my ‘hood.
The video inexplicably cuts to a panoramic shot of the Black Dragon Lake1, while Wendy continues talking as a voiceover.
Wendy: Anyway, anyway… anyway, this is a beautiful place. Even after moving to the city, I’m always drawn back to it. There’s freedom here, and… uh… it’s peace and quiet, not like the city. I think it’s actually good that uh, people are generally scared of this forest, or they’re like, not very interested in camping here, because I can be alone and enjoy nature without other people. There’s no litter here, the air is clean, and no one scares the animals away. Except when I fire my gun, but that’s really half the fun of being here, hehe...
The camera inexplicably focuses on a seemingly random area of the lake surface2.
Wendy: Anyway, uh… I wanted to make this video because… uh… how do I say this…
The video cuts back to Wendy.
Wendy: You know, I know… I said, uh… it’s good to be alone out here with nature… but sometimes… uh, I wish you were here with me, you know?
Wendy begins to blush.
Wendy: Yeah, I know, not the first thing you’d expect when you, uh, opened- started to view… uh, this video, right? (in a low voice) God, this is so fucking cheesy.
The video cuts to a shot of a flock of Northern Pintails3 flying across the sky.
Wendy: I-I just wanted to show you how beautiful this wilderness can be, and I hope it convinces you… to… uh… come with me next time… not for so long trips like mine, maybe just a night, just maybe a kilometer off the road. I have a regular spot that I use near a cave there, we can stay there and... (in a low voice) My god, this is so cringe…
The video cuts back to Wendy again.
Wendy: Ok, ok, ok, next take. (deep breath) Ok, Irene, I like you a lot. I really want to spend more time with you, and I really hope I can convince you to come camping with me with this video. Maybe we can make it a date or something… I can make it work. Also, pleasebemygirlfriendIrene-
The video abruptly cuts to another clip of Wendy. The camera seems to have been placed on some structure as it films her getting down a slope to gather a clump of large twigs for firewood.
The next clip is of the treetops just before the Black Dragon Lake. Wendy is by a dead tree with her back facing the camera, fiddling with something in her hands for a few seconds before coming to the camera and showing a piece of carved wood in the shape of a man4.
Wendy, Holy shit, I can’t believe it’s still here. I used to make these little effigies to leave around the forest, and this one is from my last time here; I can tell because it’s the best one I’ve ever carved.
The next clip is still in the area, but now facing Wendy who is sitting on a log with a knife and a new effigy in her hand. Wood shavings litter her boots.
Wendy: Why do I leave these effigies around? I, uh, I know it sounds like superstition- I mean, it is superstition. But everyone who is familiar with these woods knows that you don’t just get to barge in here, do your business, and leave. People say that the forest belongs to the Old Man of the Woods5, and people leave some kind of offering for him before they go hunting or fishing in the forest as… uh… some kind of exchange with him. (chuckles) I know, it sounds stupid to you. But I’ll just play it safe, ‘cos, you know, people do go missing in these woods. And it’s always a good habit to respect the forest.
The video cuts to a frantic shot of some branches. It remains unclear for about twenty seconds and the sound of leaves rustling is loudly audible, until the camera zooms out slightly to focus on an unusually large Western Grey Squirrel6 running over some branches. The squirrel then stops for a few seconds, allowing Wendy to zoom in on it.
Wendy: Yo, holy shit, that’s a huge squirrel. It must be, like, close to a meter long. What in the hell…? I’ve never seen one so huge in my entire life. (pause) It’s definitely breaking some records. But I think it’s going to be gone even if I build a squirrel trap now… I don’t think any normal squirrel trap can hold it anyway. That’s the Incredible Hulk of squirrels.
The next shot is facing directly up towards the sky, surrounded by tall pine trees. There is some silence, before some rustling starts, and the knocking of small wooden pieces. Afterwards, Wendy starts speaking in a very low whisper.
Wendy: Forest, friend, grey-haired old man, master of the earth, The last time I came, I marked you to know my place for future hunts. I promised that once the earth went around the sun again, I would see you again. You grew up on this land just as I did; we are of the same root. This is our home; just as I take from it, I will give back as well. I ask for your permission to tread these paths we know so well, and in return, I promise I will use only what is necessary from your house’s bounty. To show my commitment to our agreement, here is an offering to you; I will leave another before I leave.
While Wendy is praying, the video cuts to several different ambient shots of trees at different angles and heights, including one with a Red-tailed Hawk7 perched atop its tallest bare branch.
There is another long shot of the lake again. The water is extremely still, indicating a windless day. In a voiceover, Wendy talks about the lake.
Wendy: When I was only five, my dad brought me here for the first time. He had a friend who was one of the few people who liked to canoe on the lake and fish. But my dad never let me go. A lot of the locals are, well… not exactly scared, but they’re wary of the lake, because strange things happen here. Sometimes people see lake monsters, sometimes they hear things, and… sometimes people go missing on the lake. So I’m probably quite lucky that my dad never let me go. His friend, though…
More shots of the lake and trees.
Wendy: They say that the lake got its name because a dragon is imprisoned in it. The lake is, uh, I think… 800 meters deep at its deepest point, because it's a really huge lake, so there might actually be some kind of dragon at the bottom. (chuckles) But I do get the chills looking at it sometimes. Like when you’re standing near a cliff and you feel the urge to just jump over. Something like that kind of feeling. (pause) But it’s still a beautiful sight. I can’t believe it’s stayed like this for so long; you’d think it’d have gotten polluted or drained by some factory or company, but no, it’s still such a deep dark blue, like the first day I saw it. Maybe all the stories surrounding it have scared people away from trying to harm it, I don’t know.
There is a two-second still shot of a tree trunk. A series of deep parallel grooves have been carved into it8.
The video cuts back to Wendy’s face. She is now lying on a rock by the side of the lake.
Wendy: Did you know there was a submarine expedition conducted in the 1980s here? The researchers wanted to determine the exact depth of the lake, and they went down in their sub in the northern half of the lake. The legend goes that the sub crew didn’t see anything really out of the ordinary until they reached the bottom, and then they realised that it wasn’t really the bottom of the lake, but a false one. So they descended even further, past the 800 meter mark, and went as far down as one whole kilometer. Then, on the sub’s cameras, they started picking up this giant fish that was observing them, but it wasn’t really a fish. It looked like some kind of snake or serpent, easily ten times as big as the sub. The sub’s crew started going insane when they looked at the cameras, until one of them managed to pull themselves together and bring the sub back up to the surface. According to the legend, anyone who views the video and voice recording of this expedition also begins to go crazy, and even after they stop viewing it, they keep getting this urge to return to the lake for no reason. That’s why the feds sealed the recording away in some secret vault and silenced the entire research team9.
Wendy chuckles and sits up on the rock.
Wendy: Did I freak you out enough? Hehe, don’t worry, we won’t go anywhere close to the lake. I’m not a good swimmer anyway, and there are some very real and angry pike in there.
There are more ambient shots of the forest. The video eventually settles on Wendy again, now sitting on the ground with a can of peaches in her hand. It appears to be evening now. There is a campfire burning nearby.
Wendy: Here’s a very important tip: you should always leave no trace of yourself ever being here. It’s not really to hide from anyone or anything, but it’s to ensure that you lessen your impact of hiking and camping on the environment. Other than not leaving your trash around and not disturbing the ecosystem, it’s also important to find places to stay rather than make them. So I’m in this little ditch here where I can lie down comfortably, instead of digging my own ditch, so that I don’t harm the soil or any tree roots. And this campfire here, I found an old fire ring from the last time I was here, and it’s important not to build a fire that’s too big. Also, use dead wood from the ground rather than harvest from trees that are, you know, still alive. So, tonight I’ll be sleeping in this ditch, with my sleeping bag. But we’re going to be using the cave, so at least we’ll have a roof over our heads.
Wendy looks into the distance at something, then looks back at the camera. She reaches for her shotgun but then lets it go.
Wendy: Yeah, that happens sometimes. You’ll hear something in the distance, and you think it’s a person. There’s a lot of strange sounds in the forest, but there’s nothing to really worry about. No one comes that far in here except me and some other experienced guys, and we all know each other. Coyotes and foxes make some really strange sounds, and mountain lions can scream like humans. I get scared shitless every time I hear them. But the real danger is if they go silent, and they creep up on you. That’s why I always bring a gun on me even when I’m not hunting for anything, just so I can scare them off. I know you’re not comfortable around guns, and yeah, not really a need for them in the city, but out here it’s better to be safe than sorry.
The video cuts to a first-person view of a ravine. A beaver10, unseen by the camera, is making a series of loud whines, and Wendy mimics its calls. This goes on for a full minute.
The video now cuts to a shot of the moon, indicating that it is night now. It is uncertain what the exact time is. There is some rustling before Wendy stops and stays still. Nothing is heard for about forty seconds before there is more rustling, and then silence again. Another ten seconds pass before Wendy starts speaking.
Wendy: I think there’s someone out there.
A few more seconds of silence pass, before the camera picks up the very faint sound of metallic whistling. The whistling goes through regular ebbs and lows for a while, before it is joined by sporadic hollering.
Wendy: That’s coming from the direction of the… the two bare trees… the twins.
More hollering in the distance.
Wendy: Mother of God.
Wendy fumbles in the dark and turns on her headlight, revealing that the camera is pointed at her face. She is leaned up against a tree trunk, looking behind it anxiously while she gathers some items.
The video cuts to Wendy walking slowly through the thick undergrowth of the forest. Her headlight only illuminates the foliage and obstructions right in front of her. The whistling continues as she makes her way through the forest, but she suddenly stops in front of a bush and stares into the darkness. The hollering slowly shifts into a series of pained shouts11.
Wendy: Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm, stay calm… (she repeats this many times while she is observing the sound) Fuck this. It’s moving.
Wendy begins walking again, ostensibly back to her camp. The shouting, which seems to be on repeat from its source in the exact same series of intonations and pitch shifts, continues.
The video then cuts to a clip of Wendy with an axe in her hands, cutting up a few logs with urgency. The next clip is back to the first-person perspective, as Wendy is moving quickly and thus noisily through the forest, snapping many twigs and branches in her way.
She stops abruptly and crouches, with her headlight still pointed towards the darkness, trying to observe something. The metallic whistling is still ongoing.
Wendy: Ooooh. Ok. It’s following me. Easy. Easy. Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm, stay calm. (she repeats this over and over)
She continues trudging through the darkness until the video abruptly cuts to a burning campfire on three logs. She then steps away from the campfire but not out of the range of the firelight and shines her headlight into the darkness again. The black shape in the right bottom corner of the video is her shotgun.
Wendy: Don’t come close… don’t come close… stay calm, stay calm.
She stares into the darkness for around twenty seconds before the hollering starts again, this time far more audible on the video than before.
Wendy: (shouting) Hey! Whoever you are, don’t come any closer! I’m armed with a gun and I’ll use it on you!
She angles the shotgun upwards and stares into the darkness again. Suddenly, she lets out a frightened yelp and rushes back to the campfire12.
Wendy: Fuck. Fuck this. This was a mistake. Where’s my canteen? My canteen. It’s following me. Stay calm, stay calm.
Over the course of several cuts in the video, she kicks the burning logs apart and puts out the fire by pouring water from her canteen on it. The clip after this is of her moving through the forest again, but this time without her headlight on. It is unclear how she can navigate without any light at all. After some time, there is loud splashing as Wendy seems to cross some kind of stream and reenters the forest on the other side. The darkness continues for about two minutes before the sound of rustling stops.
Wendy: Don’t cross the water… I hope it doesn’t cross the water… Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm.
There is silence for a while, before the hollering starts up again. Wendy immediately rises and turns on her headlight again, now breaking into a run through the forest. Only loud rustling is heard and the video becomes impossible to make out due to the excessive shaking.
Wendy: Don’t be scared, don’t be scared, don’t be scared. (on repeat)
The next clip is focused on a tree trunk as Wendy climbs it. When the camera stabilises, Wendy appears to be perched on a thick branch, staring into the darkness. The hollering is still continuing somewhere in the distance.
Wendy: Shit, shit, it’s coming here. It knows where I am. (long pause) Can’t see it. I think it’s trying to hunt me13.
There is no activity for the next minute, except for Wendy continually panning her head around the area. Beyond the bough that she is squatting on and the surrounding branches, nothing else is clearly visible.
Wendy: Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm… It’s alright, I’m safe… I’ll shoot it when it comes near. I’ll shoot it. (startles14) Fuck fuck fuck, it’s getting closer, stay calm, stay calm.
The hollering turns to the repeated shouting again. It is then combined with sounds of knocking, similar to wooden planks being hit together.
Wendy: It’s here. It’s here. Don’t climb the tree. I swear, I swear, fucking try it, I fucking dare you.
Nothing happens for about one and a half minutes, but Wendy’s head movements become focused on tracking something in the darkness. Judging by the angle of the camera’s perspective relative to the bough, she is looking at something on the forest floor, about twenty meters away from the tree.
Wendy: Old man… old man… don’t let this happen to me… this isn’t happening, it’s not happening to me. Stay calm, stay calm.
She suddenly looks down the tree trunk and shines a light on the branches below. The camera pans quickly to its earlier spot, then the tree trunk again, then to another spot below the bough. An audible low groaning close to the tree elicits a yelp from Wendy again, and she fires three shots in an unclear direction15. The muzzle flash of the shotgun completely obscures the screen, so it is not known what she was shooting at.
Wendy: No no no no no… no no no no no… you nearly got me, you fuck.
After a long pause without any more unusual sounds, Wendy descends from the tree and lands on the roots. The camera moves quickly to sweep in a wide arc around the vicinity of the tree.
Wendy: Fuck, that was too close. What the hell was that?
There is an ambient shot of the full moon, ostensibly still from a first-person perspective. This lasts for one minute twenty seconds before suddenly cutting to Wendy looking into the pitch-black undergrowth again. The audio is dominated by her heavy panting, but there is a clear and drawn-out bellowing of a man16, which sounds to be somewhere close to Wendy.
Wendy: You cannot be serious. God help me.
She starts running through the forest again, and it is now audible through the video that the bellowing17 is following her. When she stops again, the knocking of wood is much louder than before.
Wendy: No, God, no, this isn’t happening to me… I’m ready to shoot you, I swear to God, you fuck, I’ll kill you. Quiet, quiet…
After a long period of pitch blackness and incoherent mumbling from Wendy, the headlight comes back on. It is unclear where she is now, but it is likely she is on another tree that has less branches than the last one, and is considerably closer to the ground as the headlight is able to shine on some of its roots when she looks down.
Wendy: It’s small. It’s so fucking small. I can’t see anything. Need to keep alert. Stay calm, stay calm. I have to look closely.
Wendy stays on this tree for an indeterminate amount of time until the video abruptly cuts to another campfire. The camera is set down, watching Wendy set up a low makeshift shelter out of fallen branches. She looks considerably more relaxed now. This shot continues for about two minutes, until it cuts to her face, while she lies on her sleeping bag against her shelter.
Wendy: I don’t know what that was. There are a lot of weird sounds in the woods, but I’ve never heard something like that, and I don’t think anyone ever has. It sounded like a guy in pain, but his voice was, like, on repeat like a recording. And it was moving really fast while it was tracking me, like… (she rubs her eyes) too fucking fast. Faster than any animal. But it’s been about two hours since I last heard it. I think it’s gone now, and I’m really tired right now.
A long pause.
Wendy: I can’t stop feeling scared. I’m still, like, tingling all over. When I shot at it just now, I think I hit it, but something tells me it’s not really that hurt. I’m… I’m just so tired right now. I hope I can hear it if it comes again. Irene… I… Whoever finds this… if I end up getting killed, just know that there’s something in this forest that… I don’t fucking know. There’s something. Bring many people, bring many guns.
She rubs her eyes again and yawns softly.
Wendy: I’m too scared to sleep, but I have to. I’m going to pass out any time now. I just hope I can hear it if it comes again.
The video cuts to another clip; because it is still in the same position on Wendy’s chest, it is assumed that the camera has been recording continuously for as long as she has been asleep. In this clip, the pained shouting of a man has returned, albeit from a distance. Wendy continues sleeping as the campfire dims, until the shouting is heard much closer than before, and she jolts awake in a panic.
The next cut is to Wendy already in a foxhole position against her makeshift shelter, pointing her gun and headlight into the darkness. The unknown shouting and groaning is now echoing continuously through the audio, and Wendy is breathing very quickly and heavily. Her head darts quickly from side to side, illuminating only bushes and twigs against the pitch-black darkness.
Wendy: This isn’t happening. This isn’t happening. This isn’t happening. (on repeat)
The sounds grow closer, to the point where Wendy can focus on them to her left, and directly in front of her. This part of the video has the clearest recording of the sounds, of which there are distinctly two sources, continuously on loop.
Wendy: Fucking hell, it’s full of them. Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm. (on repeat) Gurl, calm the fuck down, you’re going to kill them. You’re going to kill them. (incoherent) Yeah, I’ve got eight rounds for you in this shotty. Come at me, you fuck, you motherfucker… (incoherent) I’ve got eight rounds. Come and get me.
Wendy continues to ramble in this fashion for the next three minutes in the video. The shouting turns to groaning, and the wooden knocks start again, which send Wendy into another panic as she keeps turning to her left.
Wendy: No, no, no, no, no, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, they’re so fucking close… I don’t know which way to shoot…
Her breathing becomes frantic, but she is able to quickly bring it under control again. The sounds grow audibly closer, but nothing unusual appears on the video.
Wendy: (incoherent) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come… thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day- (she lets out a scream)
The video becomes a flurry of action, but quickly settles back down in the same position, as Wendy extends her shotgun past the edge of her cover, ostensibly taking aim at something.
Wendy: This isn’t happening, this isn’t happening, this isn’t happening, you’re not here, you’re not here. This isn’t happening. Don’t make me do this. I’m so scared. I don’t want to do this. This isn’t happening. I just want to go home. Let me go home. I’m so scared right now.
Wendy’s voice: (screams18)
Wendy shouts in fear and fires a shot in front of her. Then, she turns to her right, fires another shot, and then turns to her left to fire another shot. After the last shot, there is complete silence that lasts for a minute.
Wendy: (chuckling) Look, they’re gone now. It’s quiet again… take your finger off the trigger. (chuckling) It’s quiet now. I can’t hear anything. I scared them off.
After looking into the darkness for a while in silence, Wendy stands up. There are some metallic sliding sounds, which are of her loading more shells into her gun.
The video suddenly cuts to a still shot of the dimly-lit sky, indicating that day has already broken. Wendy makes one last voiceover in a relieved voice.
Wendy: It’s morning now. Thank God. (pause) I can’t take this anymore. I want to go home.
The video cuts to the interior of Wendy’s car, which is parked near the entrance of the publicly-open Lasa campground. Her face and hair are caked in sweat and dirt, and her clothes are wet and covered in leaves and mud. Her hands are planted on the steering wheel, cut up and bloodied with splinters sticking out of her gloves. She stares blankly into the distance for a while. Then, she bursts into tears and cries at the steering wheel until the video ends.
Concluding notes
The authenticity of this video and Wendy’s experience will likely never be fully verified. Many Internet users have tried to speculate on what exactly Wendy encountered in the video, with theories ranging from coyotes, ghosts, ‘wild men’, or serial killers. Of interest to the project team are the theories positing folkloric creatures such as the wendigo, although it must be noted that much of the Internet discourse about wendigos has been conflated with legends of skinwalkers and the more recent ‘fleshgaits’, ‘rakes’, and other similar creatures of Internet urban legend origin, to the point where they bear little resemblance to the entity described in the native American myths.
As of today, the creature(s) in this video have never been satisfactorily identified, and as Wendy is unwilling to assist in the analysis of this video, we may never get an answer. Future plans include showing this video to native American elders, with special interest for a Yakama perspective as they are considered to be either descendants or linguistic relatives of the original native peoples of the Lasa mountains. However, due to time and resource constraints, analysis of this video may only be conducted when the team obtains permission from the federal government to conduct research in the native American reservations of Washington and Oregon.
It must also be noted that, according to her neighbours, Wendy has not gone camping or otherwise near any forested areas after the trip recorded in this video. She and her wife of ten years normally go vacationing in other cities or locations that are as far away from the wilderness as possible.
Footnotes
1Specifically, the eastern side of the lake, which is heavily forested and the bank of the lake comprises sandy beaches with mild currents.
2Unlike all other cuts in this video, there is no plausible reason for this particular shot to be included. Other cuts to scenery and animals could be interpreted as being purposely to set the mood and tone of the video or as filler to emphasise the natural beauty of the region. This shot of the lake water appears to be focusing on some object of interest, but there is no visible object in this shot at all. Note from Professor: I can't help but think this is related to the purported strange phenomenon surrounding the lake.
3The transcriber is 90% sure of this.
4The carving bears some resemblance to some totems found with the native American peoples who historically inhabited the region. However, as little historical record exists of these peoples due to their rapid extinction from diseases spread by colonial settlers, it is unknown what significance the person depicted in this carving holds to the native peoples.
5This Old Man of the Woods features heavily in the folklore surrounding the Lasa mountain range. He is supposedly some kind of forest deity who rules over the mountains, who is to be appeased and revered by all who enter his domain. This is likely a belief passed down from the now-extinct native American peoples of the region. However, it would be premature to conclude that the carving depicts this Old Man of the Woods.
6The transcriber is 100% sure of this. In addition, if Wendy's estimate is true, this squirrel would be the largest Western Grey Squirrel to ever exist.
7The transcriber is 100% sure of this.
8This is a common technique used to harvest tree sap.
9There was indeed a research project in 1983 by the University of Oregon to explore the lake and its ecosystem. However, it was only during this project that the maximum depth of the lake was established at 836.89 meters. Prior to this, it was believed to be around 500 meters. However, no evidence of any 'false bottom' has ever been found. Note from Professor: None of the researchers in this study have remained at the university. And I haven't been able to find them at all. It's like they disappeared from existence after they left the university.
10The transcriber is 100% sure of this.
11 Note from Professor: In my educated opinion, this sounds like a guy who's getting his leg sawn off. Whoever's sawing his leg off is taking extra effort to do it over the course of several minutes.
12The camera did not capture what frightened her.
13At this point in the video, many Youtube commenters questioned why she did not turn off her light if she knew it was hunting her. This was the main point of contention between those who believed this video was real and those who believed it was faked.
14Again, the camera did not capture what frightened her. From her reaction, which was much stronger than the earlier one near the campfire, it is likely that she made visual contact with whatever was after her.
15By turning up the volume in this part, a man's agonised scream can be heard simultaneously with the last shot, which is entirely distinct from all other unknown sounds recorded in this video.
16The transcriber is 100% sure this is not a human voice.
17 Note from Professor: If I was a bit more imaginative, I'd have thought this to be some kind of native American hymn being sung out loud.
18Although an exact imitation of Wendy's scream from earlier, this was distinct from Wendy's actual voice as this one came from a short distance away from the camera rather than right above it.
