Not anyone

Summary:

Undoubtedly, two of the most talented players in the Blue Lock facility includes Mikage Reo and Barou Shoei. They even had titles such as "King" and "Chameleon" attached to their names. However, even these egoists tasted the insult of having their plays devoured by Isagi Yoichi.

That's why they feel even more offended when a no-name player suddenly announces that it was easy to do what "lucky" Isagi Yoichi could.

UTLRA summary: Tomonari Tada gets a little scare from two players after carelessly running his mouth.

Notes:

This is the reason why I opened an AO3 account. We need more of Tomonari Tada getting slightly bullied because of that one post-U20 arc chapter.

Please be adviced that English is not my first language and it's my first time writing a fanfiction. There might be gramatical or typographic errors here and there but by all means, please enjoy!

Chapter Text

This is an unknown story that happened before the Bastard Munchen and PXG match.

Shibuya, as a popular district, houses many busy roads to the point that one street was not really that different from another. The clear sun peered down on the city as per usual, but that day, in one of its many random streets, there was something that gathered three people in the same place.

"Ba-ya, how much longer?" Mikage Reo asked, his eyes focused on the mechanic fixing the limousine.

Beside him stood a tall woman clad in a neat butler attire and emanating a familiar, calm demeanor. More noticeably than this fancy attire were her broad shoulders and long nose which ressembled a witchy, almost evil appearance, completely a contrast to her kind attitude.

This person is Ba-ya, a servant of the Mikage family, more loyal to Reo that to his own parents.

"The mechanic informed me that it will be done in ten more minutes, young master." Ba-ya bowed her head in respect while answering. "Should I contact the main house and ask for another car?"

Ba-ya broke into a little smile after seeing her young master's expression, Reo Mikage. Although they lost, he had been smiling a lot since the Manshine City match against the Bastard Munchen.

"No, it's fine. That arcade Nagi talked about is just around the corner. I'll get him. Ba-ya, wait here with the driver," Reo intructed and started walking away after leaving some final words.

Reo strolled through the streets filled with crowded people. His eyes went left and right, searching for the sight of a white-haired lazy genius.

'Seriously, what a pain in the ass.' Reo thought about his treasure, Nagi Seishiro, who was currently somewhere in Shibuya.

Yesterday, the Manshine City players had received a day off. It had been some time after their recent loss to Bastard Munchen. Chris figured a break would help keep up the morale... and also, the fact that many players of Manshine City suddenly had so many piled up commercial requests probably played a big role about it.

Naturally, Nagi spent the day off by immersing himself in games while Reo dealt with their ever-growing popularity. Especially since that super goal that was even dubbed as the greatest in the century. He was used to it so Reo didn't feel bothered.

As the day off starts to end, Nagi and Reo decided to go back together but the former got distracted in an arcade and as as always, it's Reo that has to look for him. Sometimes, even he wondered if Nagi was spoiled too much. Not that he has anyone else to blame but himself. Reo had to admit that he liked spoiling Nagi too.

'Damn it, where is he? It's almost time to return to Bluelock.'

Reo was never the type of person who had a bad relationship with directions but there were too many arcades around him. Looking inside one by one would be inefficient. Shibuya is a big place and Nagi's instructions were too vague. Most likely, Nagi was too busy playing or too lazy to type his pin-point location.

'What should I do?' Reo thought as the sun begins to set. 'Should I track down his location?'

As Reo was about to get his phone, he hears something that made one of his veins bulge.

"Wow, Isagi stopped the lazy genius! He did it so easily too. Hahaha! I bet even I could do that."

Lazy genius. Those two words could only refer to one person, Nagi Seishiro.

'Do what?'

Looking up, Reo's eyes shot around with bloodlust and stops on a person with brown spiky hair and a jersey jacket that reads Ichinan High School on the back.

'Who the hell is this nonsense-yapping bastard?' The longer Reo looked at the guy, the more annoyed he felt. 'Who was easy to stop? Huh?!'

Reo started to walk to the stranger, then he notices someone standing on the periphery.

'What the hell is he doing here?'

Barou's familiar figure was there, with a face more sinister than usual.

'Wow, someone is actually brave enough to piss him off the field.' Reo tilted his head to the side before noticing that Barou's gaze was locked on the same stranger that was talking nonsense about his treasure.

'Well, this is about to get interesting.'

Curious, he decided to see where this would go.

* * *

Barou's day off was going well, courtesy to his personal bowling ball rolling a good streak of five.

It has been quite a while since he's visited this personal sanctuary so it's good to hear the familiar cheers and praises from the commoners all around. It doesn't really bother him but even Barou grows tired of the endless cussing-machines in Blue Lock.

"Oi, isn't that the 'King'? Barou, was it?"

"Hey, you're right! I'm a big fan of him!"

"Dumbass, what are you waiting for? Quick! Go ask for an autograph!"

A pair of friends reluctantly tried to make their way to him but hesitated.

'Is he in a bad mood?'

'He looks mad for some reason!'

Barou always had a strict face and physique that sometimes scared people but most of the time, it's overpowered by his natural charisma. No matter how scary he looked, there were always people that was drawn to his strength.

Then comes a voice that shattered the calm atmosphere surrounding him.

"Isagi stole from 'King' again! Seriously, how lucky can he get?"

Barou, who was about to throw his personal bowling ball for a sixth streak, nearly smashed it open with his hands.

Veins started to pop behind his palms as Barou slowly turned his head to the side, his predator-like eyes gleaming bright at the sight of an average joe walking out of his personal sanctuary.

The lean man held a phone, his ears plugged with earphone while watching the latest match of Ubers versus Bastard Munchen match in BLK TV.

"If it was me in Isagi's shoes, I can also steal a ball from the King. Hahaha!"

Light words, baseless statements, followed by a carefree laugh that was more mocking than mere amusement.

'This fucking donkey...'

Barou's fuse was never that strong to begin with. He placed his personal bowling bowl neatly on the shelf and approached the leaving average joe.

"Eeek!"

"Nevermind! Let's ask for an autograph later!"

Seeing the look on Barou's face, the two fans smartly avoided his way and continued playing bowling.

Ever since the U20 match, Tomonari Tada's immediate thoughts on Isagi Yoichi were pretty much linear.

Lucky. Excuse me goal.

Even if people had called Isagi Yoichi the 'Hero of Bluelock' after the U20 match, Tomonari Tada can't help but feel speculative.

'He became a hero because he was lucky.'

'That last shot was nothing but a fluke.'

'If I was invited in Bluelock, even I could do was Isagi did.'

Tada thought so because the version of Isagi he knew was no more than an average joe with nothing special in his arsenal. The reason why he played so well was because 'true geniuses' helped him.

More importantly, Tomonari Tada believed that Isagi was the same as him, so he's under the impression that whatever Isagi did would be a reachable result for him.

Naturally, this was because he's one of the people having a generic understanding of the soccer world.

Only a few high-class players truly saw the complexity of Isagi Yoichi's goal on the U20 match and unfortunately, Tada was not one of those players.

Either way, Tada felt a sense of jealousy.

'If it was me...'

His envy slips out more and more as Isagi gained more fame in the Neo Egoist League.

Today, he had heard that the players were given a day off and Tada Tomonari was going to meet his bigshot friend Isagi Yoichi.

On his way, he rewatched the games between Bastard Munchen, Ubers, and Manshine City respectively.

"If it was me on Isagi's shoes, I can also steal a ball from the King. Hahaha!"

"Wow, Isagi stopped the lazy genius! He did it so easily too. Hahaha! I bet even I could do that."

His internal commentaries slipped out and unlucky for him, reached the ears of Barou Shoei and Mikage Reo who happened to be nearby.

"Hm?"

Tada stopped after bumping into someone.

'Eh, is this real?'

His mind stops working for a bit under the hostile gaze of a person he'd seen countless of times in the BLK TV channel.

'Barou Shoei?! The King?!'

Tomonari Tada was excited to see someone oozing with 'real' talent, unlike Isagi who gets by through 'lucky plays' and other player's assisst.

"Oi."

Barou, who read the obvious thoughts that went through Tada's head, did not share the same enthusiasm.

"Say that again, you donkey. You think that only luck is needed to steal a ball from me?"
