“Hey, Reo,” Nagi says as they step out of the helicopter. “Isn’t this a bit… much?”
Reo offers Nagi a hand as he makes it down the final step. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” Nagi says slowly, peering around at their surroundings. “I thought this was just, like a… a casual dinner, or something.”
“It is,” Reo says, a bit confused.
“Um,” Nagi says. “Reo, we just flew two hours in a helicopter to get here.”
Reo’s brows furrow. “Well, how else would we have gotten here?” He checks the time on his watch. “Ah, we should hurry. They’ll be bringing out the first dish soon.”

“Right. So you’re soaked, grocery-less, and somehow this is my fault?” His gaze returned to Kaiser’s hands, empty. “Where are the groceries, Kaiser?”
“About that…” The zipper fell down in one smooth motion, and out came a tiny orange ball of fur, blinking up with imploring eyes.
“You—you absolute moron,” Isagi half-yelled, voice muffled behind his palm. No. Absolutely not. “You brought a cat into our apartment.”
“Correction: I rescued him. From the cruel, cruel, wet streets.”
Isagi’s eyes narrowed over his hand. “I’m allergic. Allergic.”
In which Kaiser shows up with a stray kitten, Isagi’s ‘allergies’ threaten disaster, and what should’ve been a simple rescue spirals into anything but that.

Isagi crossed his arms. “You could’ve just said you didn’t want to celebrate, you don’t have to be mean about it.”
“Isagi.” His mouth felt very dry. “We’re not dating.”
Midnight blue eyes met his, searching. Then, a sharp intake.
“We’re not dating.”
