Everything is fine, everything is better now.
Miorine! Hey, Miorine!
Everything's fine, right?
Hey, get a grip!
Well, everything was fine.
Breathe, please.
What a shitty consequence, it really was.
Miorine cursed to herself in her own thoughts, just, fucking, great.
"Calm down, please, Miorine." Here is the Jeturks' golden boy, previous holder, never again. Calming the daughter of Delling Rembran, Benerit's Group founder, who just found out that;
Her dear precious Suletta now suffers from the consequences of memory loss after passing Permit Score: 9. It wasn't supposed to be like this, it should be Suletta waking up, remembering everything. Getting the treatment and praise she truly deserves, but no. The Gods have decided to punish her for doing the right thing!
The news hasn't reached Suletta's 'mother' yet, and Miorine intends to keep it like that. But she knows the secret won't last forever, worse thing of all, that's not even the most major thing she is afraid of as of now. It's the thought of Suletta not remembering. Suletta not regaining her memories back.
Miorine was beyond happy when she heard Suletta was awake, and well. But the most devastating thing was yet to come, she remembered that Suletta wanted to marry her, to buy the best dresses and rings together, but no. Such a dream like that, albeit too foolish for Miorine to believe in. She was a fool, and so was her Suletta.
It was her heroic antics that made Miorine fall, and hate her for it at the same time. So selfless and yet, she couldn't save herself in the end. That's why, that's the exact reason why she hurt Suletta, in order to shield her, to protect her from the cruelty of the world. Miorine applauds Suletta for that, for not letting the harshness of the broken world break her unending resolve, the will to stay happy through shitty times.
The news just.. broke her heart. For once, she let the world see her smile, only for it to be stolen again and to be replaced with a frown. That wasn't supposed to be it, she wasn't supposed to see a Suletta that didn't move, speak and most importantly remember.
Now she's crying, all she could do was smile at Suletta. But it didn't feel the same, all she got was a confused, nervous smile accompanied by a worried, "are you okay?" and Miorine just broke at that. The dam that was desperately held through the water broke and in a second, she sprinted out of the room with her forearm covering her face and Guel swiftly following behind her.
Miorine knows she has to face reality, or else she will never move forward. As Suletta always said, "If you move forward you gain two, if you run you gain one." But she can't, not right now. She's too afraid to go back to a Suletta that's not familiar with her face, she's too nervous and too scared. The Earth House doesn't even know yet, only her, and Guel.
...
"Hey, Miorine. You okay now?" Ah yes, Guel was always there to wake her up from the negative thoughts, to sway her away from the ever growing storm rising in her head. Guel was always there, after all, Guel cared about Miorine just as much as he did to Suletta. The news also broke Guel, but Miorine knows he wouldn't show it. He never would.
"I'm okay, Guel.. but how.. how do we.." Miorine started stuttering, staring at her shaking hands as tears started to well again, but just like that, Guel took her hands to stop them from shaking, "Look at me, Miorine." Can't, too scared. "We will get through this, together. Please stop crying, Suletta would hate to see you like this."
Miorine looked at Guel, considering his words. Then she wiped the tears that streaked her cheeks and forced out a smile, "Yeah, yeah she would hate to see me like this." She sniffed, Guel sadly smiled, "I'll do everything I can. We will get her back."
"You mean, me.. right?" Speaking of the Devil, there she was. Suletta in the flesh, accompanied by a nurse as she was as still as a tree on the wheelchair. Guel and Miorine gasped, surprised to see the red head here, Miorine stood up, "We do mean you, how do you.." hope.
"The nurses told me, an accident. I lost my memory, I could tell that you were.. very special. I have a gut feeling- and it's obvious and uhm, I'm super sorry for what I said back there. The 'Who are you?' thing, it must've hurt a lot, I apologize." false hope. But Miorine still saw Suletta, even though the same spark no longer lingered in Suletta's eyes. Her stutter, her personality, her stupid apologies. They were still there, they could bring her back.. right?
"Hey, don't apologize. It's not your fault." Miorine smiled, but anyone could see the sorrow, and pain behind that crooked smile. Miorine's eyes still sting from all the tears that left her eyes.
"I cannot leave the patient but I can leave the room if you'd like." The nurse mumbled, Guel nodded as the nurse left. Suletta stayed still as the awkward silence filled the room, until she finally spoke. "So.. what was the accident about?" Suletta tilted her head, in the same cute way that Miorine remembers. But it'll never be the same.
Guel and Miorine looked at each other as Guel gulped, he prepared himself to tell Suletta, but Miorine cut him to it. "You.. you almost died, basically." Suletta's eyes widened at that as Miorine continued. "You were in a Gundam, a big robot, weapon thing. You were piloting the Calibarn, you defeated someone but it came with a big price. You reached Permet Score 9, something no one has reached before and came out alive."
Just as expected, Suletta was speechless. Guel stayed by Miorine's side, he put a hand on her shoulder but Miorine stayed still, remaining there with a stone expression. "You're alive, Suletta. That's what matters. I know I can't bring you back, I know that I can't erase the mistakes I've made." They both waited for Miorine to continue, but her next words never arrived as she fell to the ground, crying.
Guel immediately sat down and patted her back, and Suletta? All she could do was watch, as the person she apparently loved, was crumbling slowly. Miorine was struggling, she was clearly in pain. She made loud and violent sobs as Guel desperately tried to comfort her. All Suletta could do was watch, she watched helplessly.
...
After some time, the Earth House was at the hospital, immediately showering Suletta with love. She was confused, but thanked them for it. They were devastated to hear about Suletta's condition, but thankfully, Aliyah helped them to get out of the negative thought by saying. "We can always make new memories! You're the same Suletta, you always will be."
Miorine has recovered, a bit. Guel wanted to stay with Miorine but his brother called and had no choice but to leave. So there was Miorine, alone, all over again. She buried her face in her hands and groaned, she wanted company. Old her would've enjoyed the peace and quiet, but now what she needs more than ever is a friend to listen to her.
"Hey." Miorine's eyes widened, looking to her side. She expected someone like one of the Earth House members, but no. It was Chuchu. "Quit sulking around, Suletta misses you." Chuchu scoffed, looking at Miorine.
"She doesn't even remember me. Did you get your head hit again, Panlunch?" Miorine scoffed back, facing away from her. She was ready to hear a retort, an argument of some kind but all she heard was a sigh. That made Miorine look back, she saw Chuchu frowning, she looked worried. An expression she's never seen from the energetic girl.
"She.. It's true she doesn't remember. But, her body does. You know? Like, we're all connected somehow." Chuchu stuttered, thinking deeply in her words. "Like, if the mind forgets, the body remembers and the heart- something like that! Bah!" Chuchu growled, placing her hands behind her head. "I'm not cut out for this stuff."
Miorine actually listened carefully to each and every one of her words because all of it was true. The Suletta she remembers was shy, nervous but brave. And though she may never have that again, she will still be her Suletta. Always.
"Man, think about it! Okay?" Chuchu groaned, walking away. Miorine paused, then continued looking at the ground. She groaned, before standing up and making her way to Suletta's room.
And thus began Miorine's pining for the same red head yet again, day by day. Miorine delivers her food, chats with her, but never tells her stories about their past. Suletta appreciates everything she gives, but remains curious. But she slowly starts to remember- No, not gain memories. But she slowly starts to remember how to be a human being. She slowly starts to learn how to move with the right teachings and helpful company. (Miorine is secretly super proud, but she'll never show.)
That was until, Prospera found out. Once she did, she immediately called for Miorine, to let her out and let her see her daughter. Miorine of course refused, but Prospera.. she looked genuinely worried for her daughter.
But that isn't justifiable for what she's done, it never will be. That was until, Suletta personally requested that she meet her, and Miorine couldn't deny that. And so they talked, mother and daughter. Suletta was afraid at first, but warmed up. After all, she was talking to a complete stranger.
Every single word was recorded but none of Prospera's words held a secret meaning nor a malicious intent. She was genuine. Suletta slowly learned more and more as the Earth House visited her, and so did Guel, and others. But mostly Miorine, it was always Miorine who stayed and always will be.
Until one argument happened, only then did things take a bad turn.
"Really, Suletta? Do you think the food I bring you isn't enough? The stories I tell you? Let this go!"
"I'm not, I'm curious, Miorine! Tell me, what we did back then, what we loved and hated."
"I.. I can't! I'm afraid, Suletta."
"I know you are, and so am I. But please, tell me what we were before."
".. Suletta, drop this! We were nothing, we were friends. Let it go! or I'll never visit you again, I'll never tell my stories. I'll never feed you food and I'll never help you through your physical therapies. Suletta, leave me alone."
....
"So that's why, I'm not enough for you, is that it? I'm not the same Suletta you remember, I know. I'll never be good enough, I'll never be the same, I'll never please you like I used to. I'll never be the groom to you, the bride. Won't I? Well you can find a groom out of Guel! I'm not good enough for this. I don't deserve you, and you.. find someone else."
That was it, Miorine just broke Suletta.
There she was, crying, full of pain, and anguish. She was struggling, and Miorine could do nothing but watch, nothing, but watch. She was in pain, but she watched. She didn't even help, Miorine was crying too. They were both crying.
In the end, both of them will get hurt.
Just like it always has been.
... Right?
...
"Suletta, I-" Miorine wiped her tears off, it was Suletta who needed comfort, who deserved it. She bent down and hugged her tightly, softly patting her back whilst rubbing her head. "Don't cry, I'm sorry." Miorine cooed.
But that only made Suletta cried harder, she sobbed furiously. Finding solace in Miorine's arms as she desperately clung on to her back as if it was the land to the ocean she was helplessly drowning in. She cried, full of pain and anguish and Miorine could only regret it. She whispered sweet nothings to Suletta's ear.
Suletta was slowly calming down, but she was still crying in Miorine's arms. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have raised my voice at you like that, you don't deserve it. You're more than enough, I love you more than you know, Suletta."
They both slept in each other's arms that night.
...
It was 6 months into Suletta's journey and so far, they have not found a way to get her memories back until.. they found someone who could help their current problem.
Apparently, it was Suletta's older sister in a keychain. Yes, believe me when I say it, it is. Prospera found a way to bring her back as she coded her in a small keychain, Prospera let her daughter have control over her mind. She was Ericht.
Needless to say, Ericht was very annoying towards Miorine. Anytime of the day, Ericht would find a way to annoy Miorine. She certainly does not enjoy it and would throw the damn keychain away if it weren't for Suletta, whose current sources of happiness are: The Earth House, Miorine, and the damn, fucking keychain.
But there are times when Ericht is serious, ever since she found out about Suletta's current condition. She's been trying to help and needless to say, she did find help.
They needed to bring back Calibarn, or at least, Calibarn's memories. Once the pilot has resonated with their Gundam, the Gundam installs the memories of the pilot, every single one. Ericht used to be a Gundam, so that helped a lot.
So everyone set out to find at least a fragment of Calibarn, anything. And eventually, they did. When Suletta heard about it, she was more than willing. But Ericht warned her, that, once she regains her memories. All the pain she endured alongside Calibarn, will happen to her. Including the damage of Permet Score 9.
Of course, she'll only feel the pain, no actual injury. Suletta was not hesitant at all, but Miorine was. She couldn't bare to see Suletta in the same old pain they got over with. It was hard for her, it was hard for everyone. But Suletta promised, she promised she would be fine.
So Miorine trusted her, like a bride would do to her groom. She loved Suletta with all her heart but that also means sacrificing many things, but it's all worth it.
Just before Suletta undergoes the experiment. Miorine steels herself up and finally confronts Suletta. Suletta was confused, but listened to her, as always.
"I love you, Suletta. I always have!"
"I know, Miorine. I've always loved you too."
Miorine sobbed in Suletta's arms, as she let her cry. (Guel overheard it all.)
...
It was the sounds of Suletta's screams, and whimpers of pain that made Miorine want to stop this operation, but she knows that Suletta would want this. She wants herself to be perfect for Miorine, she wants herself to be the same Suletta she fell for.
But to be honest, Miorine fell in love with her all over again, she loved both the Sulettas. As long as it was Suletta she was more than fine. She just realized Suletta's insecurities, her thoughts that, she isn't enough for Miorine. But she was more than enough, she was everything to Miorine.
And finally the operation was done, Miorine stepped closer to the burnt out Suletta who surprisingly, hasn't passed out yet. Everyone was curious, but let Miorine go first.
She heard a cough, one and two.
She saw the same electric-cerulean eyes she loved.
She saw the smile of a winner, a survivor, a victor, the holder.
"Miorine-san."
"Suletta, my groom."
