The boy, Athena observed, was not thrilled about the prospect of having finally reunited with a father that would nurture and protect him.
He did not speak to his father unless pressed. Athena watched them from afar, through roofbeams and dusk shadows. Father and son moved like two wolves pacing separate cages. Related, wary, and always a heartbeat from barking.
Wariness shaped the boy’s spine. His gaze lingered too long on his father’s hands, as if still expecting a sword.
Athena’s heart, if it could be called that, twisted.

Athena’s fallout with her champion left her feeling things she was not familiar with. It took her four years to realize those feeling were of guilt and regret, which at last made her check upon him. . . only to see him having lost both his men and himself. For a whole year, he was imprisoned. And Athena’s first act of repentance was to have him released. . . but it was not enough. So she decides to help mend the strained relationship between father-son.
