Summary
Widening streams of dark, glistening water surge upwards towards the altar. Slowly, a hulking figure forms where they coalesce, floating an inch above the stone’s surface. It is massive, larger than any mortal, clad in a cape made of stars with wicked talons the length of a man’s palm. The outlines of its being are fuzzy. Like it isn’t entirely corporeal.
This must be the monster that Zhongli has come to seek. Its face is concealed by a mask of glistening crimson as if painted with blood. A single blue pupil-less eye glints as its head snaps toward Zhongli. Its mouth doesn’t move, but its voice still echoes through the cave:
Where is the sacrifice?
“I am the sacrifice,” Zhongli says, calmly.
