Chapter Text
Elias did not think he was going to lose. And yet, here he was; stabbed through the heart in his own Panopticon while his ruined world became… ruined. He actually sighed when he opened his eyes and was greeted with the sight of his ex-husband, Peter Lukas.
Elias also didn’t think that this wager would actually work. A promised eternity in a horrible American sitcom? Preposterous! But, as Peter smiled that arrogant smile- Elias knew he had miscalculated and whatever agreement they had made, had in fact secured them an eternity as a married couple.
Elias Bouchard- Jonah Magnus- was now, for all of eternity,
Elias Bouchard-Lukas.
No more divorces.
No more worthless court cases.
No more cat and mouse.
Elias and Peter were married. Married not in a church under the eyes of God, like Peter’s mother would’ve wanted, but under the watchful eyes of the Beholding and Lonely alike.

“Darling,” Peter’s calm voice stopped Elias’ panicked thoughts in their tracks. “It’s alright. Everything is okay.”
Elias only barely started to register that he was now wrapped in Peter’s warm arms. Peter was wearing that stupid sailors outfit of his that Elias so secretly loved. Elias, in turn, was wearing the now bloodstained green suit that he had been wearing when the Archivist had stabbed him. Stained with his own blood. That’s new.
Elias let himself soften into Peter. He let himself relax. After the noise and everything-ness of the Watcher’s Crown, whatever limbo they were in at the moment was almost painfully empty. But it was, though Elias may never admit it, nice. Though there was no Fear for him to Watch or Feed off of, the peaceful quiet of nothing but his and his love’s breaths was enough for Elias.
“Are you ready?” Peter asked him once Elias had calmed down.
Elias paused, thinking. “Yes. I am ready for eternal damnation by your side.”
Elias was rewarded with a laugh from Peter,”Good.”
Elias walked into the white void of pure nothingness hand in hand with his husband, entirely prepared for what was to come-
He thought.
