Dark clouds.
Wind blows.
A storm— and darkness was all around.
A hand reaches out towards— an opportunity, just take it. You'll be together. But he'll always be better than you right?
That's what they always said.
Too many competitions to count, he always won. If he ever won it was rare or some kind of accident.
A girl came, and she too became competition. Winner gets to share a papou fruit with Kairi, but he won that too. What's that? Oh— the papou thing was a joke, you should have seen your face
He stared dumbstruck. Was it that obvious he cared? It wasn't because of her, he just wanted to win for once.
A picture, a drawing on a cave. If they both shared one, he would finally be first.
He wanted to be better than him at something.
A hoodie figure, an offer.
The world's are connected but you'll never leave with them. Separation will be the only way.
He reached out as if holding hands will be protection. Maybe he'll take it... Maybe he'll....
It was cold. Darkness. Thunder. No one was here.
Huh?
"Riku?" Where did he disappear? "Kairi?' Neither were here.
Rocks. Shadows. Monsters whose bodies have left them and only hearts remains.
Closed eyes.
A woman stared and smiled. She knew of his story. A world overtaken by the darkness — darkness he caused by his heart wanting to be better than Riku something.
And she could use him
...
Riku now landed in a town unknownst to him— a world that was so unlike the islands.
"Sora?" His name was first. Then hers, "Kairi?"
But neither were with him.
The last thing he remembered... Right.
The keyblade— So similar to what that man held. The stranger gave him this one day but never returned.
The day he made a promise he wouldn't ever forget.
Sora. He'll protect just as always.
Sora asked about the man the day he saw him, but he kept it a secret. Just like he promised.
He got up and found some others. The worlds have been falling and Riku was the key to saving them.
There where two others who were looking for him.
If course you can find your friends but he didn't trust those words. They just needed him, but he also needed their ship.
It runs on happy faces
But he refuses to give in. He'll make sure to never show a smile.
Arrogance and arguing — he'd always won.
He had to find Sora and Kairi
The worlds he traveled and princesses disappeared. He ran into Sora.
Finally.
Sora was happy to see him. He even got along with Donald and Goofy.
But something happened.
A woman's words— he could never win by his side. He only wanted to make sure he would never be better, the women warned.
He would never get better.
He would never be stronger.
Not like this.
He just wanted to be better than Riku for once...
He disappeared.
Riku noticed.
The next time he saw him, he was doing something else. He was trying to prevent Riku from winning.
Dark haired and yellow eyes.
His heart was taken over.
Darkness.
Cold.
Riku found Kairi.
He didn't know why she wouldn't wake up.
Sora hadn't known either.
He still had to get stronger.
Darkness.
He disappeared and only a heartless remained.
The darkness took him over and was now only a heartless.
A voice called out.
Sora!
Riku went to him. An embrace. Like light he appeared again. Together they can defeat him.
Riku, someone so warm would always be there for him? He would look out. They're both good at different things.
But he appeared on the other side. Away from Riku and something prevented them— hearts of light passing through.
A door.
A door must be shut.
Two sides.
Light and Darkness.
A voice calls out and calms Sora.
We'll take care of her, I'll find you on the other side. Sora could not longer join them.
Riku only wanted one thing and that was Sora
So in devotion, he had to find Sora. Nothing else was important.
Only Sora.
