Summary
Mythical creatures have always been here among us. They have always moved, some unseen and unknown, some barely than a whisper, some in broad daylight and bluntly laying claim to space among humans. The fair folk has always been of the varied sort, but they tended to keep to themselves, holding themselves apart. However, not all were so, and over the centuries, courts drifted, and even the fae have been among those who walk between the mortals, and the mythical state of them slowly rubbed slightly in the eyes of humans. After all, it's hard to be awed beyond words by the bored barista down the street. Still, cultures are semi separated, and most view the humans as no more than nuisance or passing interest and quaint playthings. Many hold interests and work centuries beyond them.
The Makara family that lead the carnival in the Unseelie court is one of them. With a chokehold on organized crime in the area and across the close courts and further plans in their pocket, and a head that ages beyond half a millennia, they are one of the strongest fae in the area.
With old enemies' bloodlines returning to their territory, and history threatening to rear it's head back, they will need to watch their back closely.
