Spock's playing again.
Nyota finds herself humming along with the song as she carefully lays out the cards in front of her. Janice sits across from her, sketching something on a PADD quietly.
"You know this one too?" Janice teases, glancing up at her through her eyelashes.
Nyota smiles fondly, leaning on the table with her chin in her hand. "What, do you want me to sing again?"
"Always do," She replies, watching her for a few moments before going back to sketching, glancing up a few times with a knowing look.
Nyota rolls her eyes, standing up and walking over to Spock, who is wrapping up the song. He's swaying the chair back and forth as he plays the harp she gifted him. He looks up at her questioningly.
"Lieutenant Uhura," He says, when the song ends, "Is there something you require?"
"May I make a song request?" She asks, nodding towards Janice, who is still focused on the PADD.
"You may," He watches her, hand poised over the strings of the harp. She smiles lightly, whispering the song in his ear. He raises an eyebrow, but nods and begins to play.
Nyota sees Janice look up from the PADD hopefully.
It's a little bit of a faster song, one that Nyota knows by heart, though, and one that Spock knows as well. She walks over to Janice, rounding around the table in order to be at her side.
Janice places the PADD away quickly, sliding it out of Nyota's view before looking up at her. Nyota grabs one of her hands, pulling her up out of the chair.
"What?" She's surprised at the movement, and Nyota smiles.
"Dance with me," She says, guiding her over to in front of where Spock is playing.
"I've never done this before," Janice half-whispers, "I don't dance," Her tone is worried, but she doesn't try to move away.
"Just try it," Nyota replies, "I'll teach you how."
"Okay."
As Nyota leads Janice in a simple dance, the PADD's display goes from a sketch of Nyota to black.
