Ways to stop my Father from being the Number One Hero

Summary:

After calmly assessing his situation, Touya realized he was three years back in the past.
Any other sane person might think about how they would fix their life and all that cliche shit. All Touya thought was. “Great. I can kill my old man again.”

After killing Endeavour over a thousandths time. He was damn tired.

Notes:

A drabble I wrote up a while ago. Currently just this chapter.

Work Text:

Touya had waited all his life for this moment.

Blue flames violently crashed against Red as he laughed at Endeavour's pathetic face. His old man finally looked at him, seeing him for more than the failure he thought Touya was.

"Touya. Stop." Endeavour said, a pained expression on his face - as if he had any right.

'Stop.' Rang clear in his mind, fanning his flames in a blazed frenzy.

He never knew how to stop.

Endeavour looked at Touya's hands. Charred black hands, skin searing from the intense fire.

Touya had been burning for a long time. His body, a bundle of nerve damage, unfeeling to anything anymore. Simply a burnt husk to exact revenge on Endeavour.

Letting out a shrill laugh, Touya did what he knew best. Raising up the heat.

Blue engulfed his sight. Blue flames that singed him, yet were his only source of pride, his entire being. Hot enough to burn everything. Hot enough to finally burn Endeavour and all he stood for.

Blue flames that perfectly blended with his pathetic weak skin. And within the scorching blaze, he didn't know when Touya ended and the blaze began.

But he knew it was enough. Amidst his crazed laughter, his father was finally no more. And Touya was no more.

***

Touya woke up in a familiar apartment.

The evening orange sunlight poured through as the small television broadcasted Endeavour's triumph, instantly stirring tendrils of rage within.

A burst of flame and a pile of sizzling ashes replaced the rage-inducing television.

Taking a few minutes to reign in his temper. Touya slowly evaluated his current conditions.

The phone by his bedside was one he'd accidentally melted ages ago.

The phone. The broadcast. The apartment. It took a while before it all sunk in.

What the fuck. He was three years in the past.

Touya was still a small-time villain, taking some side gigs as an arsonist, using the rest of his time to train his quirk, readying it for the right moment to take his father down.

Any other sane person might think about how they would fix their life. All Touya thought was. "Great. I can kill my old man again."

***

So he did.

Using his feet as jets, he zoomed to Endeavour's house.

Touya smiled in glee, seeing the fucker by his lonesome.

Killing him in the Gunga Mountain Villa did not quench his thirst for revenge. It was all over too fast. Too soon.

Thank God. Or whatever quirk gave him the opportunity to do it again.

Laughing in glee, he launched a blistering blue fire, immediately immolating his father and his agency.

Before he could recoil in shock at how easy that was, everything was blue. And when he opened his eyes, Touya woke up in a familiar apartment.

Just for good measure, Touya cremated Endeavour a hundred more times before he took some time to revise what was happening.

Back then, Touya knew that going all out meant death, so he only had one chance. And so, everything was carefully planned just to give Endeavour maximum despair before killing him. But with his new powers and with this time loop. He could keep on doing it like a daily exercise.

Oh, the joy.

No one could say he wasn't determined. Or resentful.

***

His quirk was different. It was undoubtedly more powerful, but it had changed.

Now, he could, in all literal senses, become fire.

The fire that used to eat away at his flesh now restored it to how it once was. His hair was white as snow, his skin milky and without burns nor piercings or staples. Even the lower jaw he'd lost was back. It was as if he'd never burned.

The burns that once marked his existence, disgusted by all except that fucking bird, but even that was a lie.

It was ironic. He, who never intended to live beyond his revenge, was suddenly given life.

It did ruin his aesthetics. He would have to do something about his missing piercings.

Though being able to Feel again was wonderful.

He'd forgotten the softness of the blankets, the smell of flowers, the taste of simple food. He'd forgotten how magical it was to have the flavours dancing on his tongue, from the simmering spiciness to the sweetness.

The prior seven years, he'd cooked and eaten all for the sake of surviving. Just waiting for the right time to exact his revenge on his father, taking away everything he held dear. He'd forgotten such simplicities could be so divine.

But even the divine could not save Father from his rage. And after a full stomach. Burning away the Number Two Hero was good exercise.

***

It got rather dull, especially when Endeavour's attacks couldn't do shit to him, though he immensely enjoyed the shock factor on his father's face in every reveal.

But just killing him became too simplistic. Touya decided to add some despair.

Capturing Enji's colleagues and friends, Touya began burning them before him. Relishing the angered or pained reactions from his father before killing the old man.

He tried, yet he could never kill Fuyumi, Natsuo or his mother. At least not while they were staring at him.

His most remarkable work had to be when he held Father by the throat, forcing him to watch as Touya caused all volcanoes in Japan to simultaneously erupt, destroying the entire country within a day with blazing volcanic fireworks. It was a masterpiece.

His father looked so helpless and miserable that Touya decided to repeat it a few times just so he could savour the moment.

"Touya-"

He tuned out his father's words. Focusing on his ugly tearstained face, laughing as the world burned.

***

He hated Endeavour. Hated him since that night. Hated him so much, yet Touya knew he hadn't fully lost his mind then.

But seeing the masterpiece using the perfect quirk Dabi could never have. Seeing the man praised by the masses for Stain's arrest. Seeing the man attempting to atone for a chance of getting a perfect family. It sent him past any reasoning.

Shouto, the boy who took everything from him, the masterpiece that showed him that Father's love was conditional.

He wasn't sure how many times he killed the puppet. All he had focused on was Endeavour's face as he destroyed his prized creation.

Only after tiring of repeatedly seeing Endeavour's reaction did he turn to look at the target of his envy.

"T-Touya nii-." The puppet gasped out. His half-burnt face struggled from Touya's grip on his neck. His eyes brimming with tears as he gazed back with hurt, confusion, and perhaps even a glimmer of hope before he was gone, engulfed by the blue flames.

Before the time loop started, no one recognized him. Was it the unscarred face? Was it his white hair?

He needed to know.

Taking care to keep the flames from restoring his face and hair. He grabbed Shouto's neck, snarling as blue flames illuminated his palm.

"T-Touya nii." Shouto gasped out and Touya let go.

Impossible.

He took a step back. Turning his body to fire, he flew to Endeavour's agency.

Shouto was only a tool for Touya to hurt Endeavour with. Yet he couldn't kill Shouto. Not anymore. Not when those eyes were staring at him.

***

"Why did you throw me away! Why did you abandon me!"

Touya let out an exhausted scream. Endeavour fading in the blue inferno.

"All I wanted was for you to look at me!"

“If anyone. Had anyone only looked at me. Recognized me. Tell me I matter, that I meant something. Maybe I wouldn’t have. Wouldn’t have..”

***

How many times had he done this? Probably over a thousand. Maybe more.

After the first hundred times, he lost the satisfaction of killing Endeavour.

The euphoric rush of thrill after success soon soured into a feeling of loss.

The world wasn't brighter, and deep down, he wasn't happier. He only kept doing it since it was his life's mission.

Touya felt he was stuck within a whirlpool, a vortex of void. His life's meaning suddenly stripped away. His accumulated feelings of hatred suddenly meaningless.

What was he supposed to do when the person he was supposed to kill just couldn't stay dead.

It wasn't supposed to be like this. After returning all the pain to Endeavour, after extinguishing the light from his father's eyes, Touya should've ended in a glorious blaze.

And Touya couldn't believe it. But he was tired. He was lost.

Too tired for any more long-ass reveal plans. Too tired and too fed up to even fly over and kill his father.

This fucked up time loop had ruined his enthusiasm in killing Endeavour.

It was a strange thing. Touya's old fragile body had been fueled by pure rage, yet now his new healthy body lacked that once burning hatred.

But Touya wasn't one to let go of his resentment and jealousy. He wasn't going to forgive Endeavour.

Touya supposed he could try offing himself to end this annoyingly tiresome existence. But that would mean Endeavour becoming Number One, and that wasn't something he could allow.

If he was going to be stuck in this stupid time loop every time he killed his father. He would at least make sure that the damn Old Man would forever be stuck in second place.

***

The plan was rather simple.

If All-Might stayed Number One, Endeavour's dream would forever be out of reach.

And nothing annoyed Endeavour more than All Might's smile.

All Touya had to do was stop All Might from retiring.

And the answer to that problem was the Shie Hassaikai's little horned girl.

He would kidnap the brat. Let the brat use her wonky quirk to rewind All Might's injury. All Might would remain Number One, and Touya could chill and watch his Endeavour forever simmer in frustration.

A few tears forward and that green broccoli kid would probably be the following Number One.

And once it's revealed that the green broccoli kid was All Might's secret lovechild… His father would probably have aneurysm.

Touya gleefully cackled, the scenes already playing out in his mind.

***

Before he knew it, he was at the Shie Hassaikai's headquarters. Burning his way through the building, leaving random goons screaming as they jumped frantically out of his fiery path.

The eight ugly mask crew attempted to block his way with their weak ass selves, so he singed some and ashed some like the useless thugs they were.

Eventually, he found a gigantic metal door. Way to make it very obvious.

Burning away the metal, Touya walked in to find the horned brat whimpering in pain. Her mouth was bound by a mouth gag, her body strapped to a medical chair as tubes of IV pierced her scarred arms.

The lab coat-wearing goons around her became ash before they could even utter a word.

The brat gazed up at his approaching form. A tinge of fear in her moistening eyes.

Somehow, her white hair reminded him so much of a younger Fuyumi.

"It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." Touya said, trying his hardest to sound gentle as he unclasped her mouth gag.

Carefully, he slowly took out the IV tubes, for once in his life, thanking his prior stapled body for the medical know-how he got in caring for himself.

"Wanna leave this place?" Touya asked, attempting a smile as he offered her his hand.

Though her eyes were still watching him with uncertainty, she nodded. Her small hand grasped his as she hopped down from the chair.

"Who the hell are you." Overhaul's voice resounded from the remains of the door, minions flacking his side.

The horned brat immediately hid behind him, her body shaking as she tightly grasped his pants.

"I am fire. I am death."

Touya smirked, willing fire to his hand. He was quite a fan of classic fantasy literature.

Overhaul, the uncultured peon looked at him in confusion and annoyance, clearly lacking any basic understanding of the classics.

"Tch. Fire? An Endeavour fanboy playing hero?"

"That's the most revolting thing I've ever heard." Touya grimaced in disgust, sending out a blast of fire at the bastard while his other hand was closing the brat's face. Seeing fiery deaths was not suitable for child development.

The bastard escaped scorching death by using one of his henchmen as a human shield, leaving powders of dust in his passing.

Touya could have quickly burned down the whole place within seconds. But that would kill the brat, and he needed her to restore All Might and stop Endeavour from becoming Number One.

He helplessly sighed. This was more hassle than initially planned.

Touya sent out another blast of fire. Overhaul again blocked with another henchman, dodged, his hand touching the floor.

The ground rumbled, breaking apart before reforming into sharp spires, dashing to pierce Touya and the brat.

Touya quickly snatched her up, floating in the air with his flames as he burned away the spires coming at them from all sides.

From Overhaul's hand, the booming sound of gunshot resounded.

If he turned intangible with his flames, the brat would be within gunshot range. If he burned away the bullet, the brat would likely be hurt by his flames.

Seeing no other choice, Touya pulled her into his chest, shielding her as the bullet sunk into his body.

Touya landed back onto the ground as the barrage of spikes ended. Overhaul cackling like a madman.

"How ironic. The power of the girl you're trying to save turns out to be your downfall. It's not perfect yet, but when it is. I'll this disease from society."

Ahh, it was one of those shitty bullets.

"M-mister-" The little brat wobbled, looking up at him as he slowly placed her down.

"Come back here, Eri. Stop being difficult. You were born to break people."

He gritted his teeth. Familiar words ringing in his head.

'Stop being difficult, Touya. How many times have I told you to stop using your quirk!'

Fuck this fucker for bringing up his shitty memories.

He could feel the effect of the bullet, attempting to douse his flames.

But Touya had already become fire. Ever burning, ever-evolving, ever persevering fire. He only had to burn faster than what the bullet could rewind. He'd scorched the world clean to spite his father. This was nothing.

"All your actions get people killed. You are a cursed existence." The asshole said, walking up to them.

The brat shivered, struggling in his arms. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry-" She cried out.

Placing the brat onto the ground, he patted her head reassuringly.

"Brat, close your eyes and cover your ears, okay?"

She looked at the approaching Overhaul before her eyes returned to him. Nodding as she followed his orders.

"The punishment for butting in where you shouldn't will be your death!"

As Overhaul's hand touched Touya, a spark flickered before it quickly died down.

Confusion was a good look on the fucker.

"What. Performance issues?" A tingle that told Touya his own quirk was fighting against Overhaul's, like the immune system fighting against a weak invading virus.

"H-how-"

"I told you. Fire. I'm just burning more than what you're disassembling."

His grin must've been horrific, judging from Overhaul's shocked expression as he grabbed the fucker's face, forcefully opening his mouth with a squeeze.

And before the villain could retaliate, Touya unleashed a stream of fire into his trap.

"Let's see if you can still reform after I burn away all the bonds in your atoms."

A scorch, a sizzle, and the fucker was gone, leaving only molten scorch marks on the floor as the trace of his existence.

The leftover goons screamed, collapsing in shock from seeing their boss vaporized, so Touya did them a favour and vaporized them too. The fuckers.

He planned to live a chill life, enjoying Endeavour's growing aneurysm. Clearly, that plan had gone down the drain.

Walking back to the brat, he gently flicked her forehead.

She opened her eyes.

"Is he gone?" She asked.

"Yeah. He won't hurt you anymore."

Tears fell from her eyes, her hands desperately wiping them as she sobbed.

"Let's get out of here." He said, offering her his hand.

She made a small smile, nodding as she took it.

The plan was to quickly leave the site, burning away any scrubs that got in his way.

Instead, he found the remaining yakuzas in a dogeza, heads bowed from both sides of the corridor as if they were expecting a royal procession.

"What the fuck-"

"Himura-sama!" An old man wailed as he walked towards Touya. His eyes glimmering with joy.

"You have returned!"

"What-"

"My quirk allows me to see people's lineage. And you are certainly of the noble Himura blood. Please lead us to glory! This Haimura will follow you anywhere!"

"Please lead us!" Echoed the rest of the mafia through the corridor.

What the fuck.

***

Apparently, his grandfather from his mother's side was the younger brother of the Shie Hassaikai's Boss, who was currently in a coma.

The Himura was once nobility, a branch family descended from the most noble and ancient house of Fujiwara.

But society changed and evolved with the advent of quirks. Old titles, old nobility and old practices were tossed aside for the new system.

Desperately clinging to their old glory, they formed the Shie Hassaikai, upholding their old values before Overhaul screwed it all up.

Tossed aside. They were like Touya in that regard. Scrapped away for a better model.

His grandfather didn't like being part of the yakuza, thought it was beneath his noble blood, and decided to cut himself off from the family.

Touya could piece things from there.

Lacking money and too prideful to return. His grandfather offered Rei Himura to Endeavour.

What a pathetic man.

And what raunchy information. That Endeavour married a woman with criminal ties.

It also meant that him choosing a life of villainy was merely him returning to his family's cultural roots.

It also meant that this horned brat, holding onto his hands as she looked up at him with her glassy eyes, was his cousin.

And he thought he was done with his family.

Also. How the fuck did they intend for him to lead? He didn't even finish middle school. His specialty? Patricide.
