Work Text:
Pythor P. Chumsworth is a galaxy renowned assassin.
He was given the glorious assignment of killing the human ambassador of Earth. An S Danger Class planet. The plan was—that without their leader the humans would be easier to pick off or convince to stay out of the war effort.
Because humans were known to be lethal killing machines that could survive insurmountable odds and had the highest biting force record in the galaxy. They were dangerous . And that why they needed to stay out of the war, they would incite mass world genocide on their own, for which ever side they were on. It didn’t matter if they would be the ultimate weapon—every faction had already agreed that humans needed to stay out of it.
And it seemed they were trying to get into it.
So that’s why Pythor was tasked with killing the man that wanted in on the violence.
With the most toxic poisons at Pythor’s side, he snuck into the building that human was said to reside in, his body sluggish due to the terrible gravity of the place and the high concentration of oxygen making it hard to breath, forcing him to use his mask to think properly.
Earth was dangerous. He needed to be quick.
There the human was, with strange white-gold fur atop its head. Green and brown clothing covering its…weirdly colored…smooth scales. Almost like the color of a jugoe nut. Odd. Pythor’s never seen a creature of that color that wasn’t scaled or covered in fur or feathers. He must have been scaled though. But it…it did not quite seem like scales. It was something else, like his own scales, but much finer, the scales must’ve been the size of sand particles or the pollen of a katooo blossom. How strange.
But it did not matter what color its scales were or how small they were. What matters is that he killed it, once and for all.
So he poisoned its drink with a lethal dose of chocolate, careful to not touch it directly as it would cause a rash that would blister and bleed and eventually kill him if he touched it.
Though…it did not kill the human.
It merely hummed, confused but…happy with itself?
It…It did not break out its bleeding, blistering rashes. It… continued to drink it! Did it have a death wish!?
Pythor shook himself free of his shock and tried again. This time with mint—surely the horrible internal burning and bleeding that mint causes would be the thing to do the human in.
But it… it didn’t.
The human had a similar reaction to the chocolate that Pythor poisoned it with.
Ridiculous.
Pythor tried again with caffeine, illegal adrenaline shots and illicit simulates that all should speed up the heart until it explodes.
But it didn’t work.
The human was fine. It just….did its activities a little faster and—
Pythor was getting desperate.
So, he withdrew the most deadly thing he had brought: Capsaicin.
Something so rare and despicable it was only used in war in 7 sectors and was outlawed for warring purposes and every other purpose in all the other ones. Only A Class Danger planets were allowed to handle the stuff. Using it on the other hand…well, that was another story all together.
He was going to give the human a lethal dose but—it seemed the human was immune to most ‘lethal doses’, so Pythor gave it all the capsaicin he had brought. Barely more than a finger tip but it was enough capsaicin to kill hundreds of Pythor’s species, who were well known for their poison resistance and tolerance to the mighty chemical.
Pythor waited with bated breath—waiting for the thing to die.
But it didn’t. Die.
He really thought he got it but–but—it, just turned red in the face, flapping its hands and—
It was just… uncomfortable. Not truly in pain. It didn’t die like it was supposed to.
Pythor had run out of poisons to give it.
He couldn’t—
How could he kill it now? Pythor wasn’t about to confront an S Class creature, that’s why he brought the poisons that why—
…
Pythor wasn’t getting paid, was he?
