She couldn't help but lean her cheek against her palm, taking in the sight of Ruby as she talked about something that excited her. Blake wasn't a big talker, but around Ruby, she found herself listening to her with a smile on her face. She admired the way her lips quirked upwards or how her hands moved when she shared an interesting part of a story or about an interesting topic. Even the way her silver eyes sparkled when they caught the light was something that made Blake's heart skip a beat and butterflies flutter around in her stomach.
Sometimes their hands brushed together for just a moment, sending an intoxicating rush through Blake that no one else could make her feel. It was only her…she was the only one that could do that.
“What do you think Blake, should I get the upgrade?”
The faunus hummed softly and focused on Ruby before giving her a small smile. “If you want to...it sounds great.”
Ruby's eyes lit up at Blake's response. She leaned forward, her elbows resting on the table as she looked at Blake intently. Her bright silver eyes bore into Blake's amber ones, and a smile danced on her lips.
“Yeah, I think I'm gonna do it! Thanks for the input.”
Blake nodded in response, unable to take her eyes off Ruby. She was getting lost in them again, and she didn't mind one bit. Ruby was all she wanted to see, all she wanted to think about. As they continued chatting, Blake couldn't resist the urge to reach out and touch Ruby's hand. She ran her finger along the back of her hand, feeling each little bump and groove. Ruby's skin was so soft it was almost like touching a cloud.
Ruby glanced quickly at their hands and then met Blake's gaze with a small smile. She moved her hand, lacing her fingers through hers.
I love you.
The words echoed through Blake's mind as she felt Ruby's warm fingers intertwined with hers. It was a phrase that was never said aloud, but something that the faunus had been feeling for a long time. She returned the gesture, giving Ruby's hand a soft squeeze and feeling herself melt into the touch.
They both continued to sit there, Blake content with listening to the redhead continue on with her weapon upgrades.
