Chapter Text
Li Lanfeng opened his eyes. What happened? Where was he?
He surveyed his surroundings. Everything was white. There was nothing around him, just an empty space.
He tried to recall what happened before...
How come...he couldn't remember anything?? What was he doing before? How did he get here? And more importantly...
Where was his Rabbit?
Even amidst confusion, Li Lanfeng cannot forget his Rabbit.
"Welcome to the Reaction Room, Participant XXX." A mechanical voice resonated through the white room of nothingness.
Li Lanfeng moved his body subtly, preparing to fight. He used his spiritual power to assess the surroundings. The place looks like a White Room.
"I am afraid I am very much needed elsewhere. So please kindly direct me back to where I came from." Li Lanfeng smiled and activated his Bewitching Ability. Although his expression was amicable, his narrowed eyes showed a hint of threat.
"That will be arranged. But, not before the assignment. Please refrain from using your Domain, any resistance is useless and will delay your departure. Failure to comply will result in punishment."
Li Lanfeng raised his eyebrow at this announcement. He then tried several times more to gauge an exit with his powers. Alas, nothing substantial. It was true that he couldn't find any opening. He felt a bit frustrated how despite being an Imperial Domain Master, he still wasn't strong enough! Whatever. If playing along with the enemy would make it faster to get to his Rabbit, then so be it.
"What exactly is this 'assignment'?"
"You have been chosen to read and react to a special book. "
He felt like laughing. A book? That's all? All this weird stuff happening to him....because of a book? "Why me in particular?"
"You will understand that in due time." The mechanical voice replied.
Li Lanfeng brushed his hair with his fingers in mild frustration. Better to get it over with. He was a fast reader anyway. If reactions are what this Voice needs then he can pretend well enough.
The situation was quite odd. He also wasn't sure if the Voice would keep its end of the bargain. It'll pay if it truly doesn't.
"Please be quick about it. I have a person to return to." His mind was still foggy for some reason...he could not remember where he was before he came here....the memory block must have something to do with this room and its robot.
"Thank you for your cooperation. Here is the Book."
Suddenly, a tab appeared on his hands. He tapped it and it switched on with a glow.
"It's Not Easy To Be A Man...10,000 Years Into The Future? By Madame Ru. Hmm...interesting title. A bit lengthy though." Commentary is also part of reviewing, so it may be good to pitch in now and then. Damn, it was around 1500 chapters long.
So, it begins...
He started reading the first line and went speechless.
