Chapter Text

The Imp lays on her bed limply, tail hanging off it. The old piece of furniture creaks as she shuffles around on it. This was not how it was supposed to go, not like this. She curled up more on the bed, her head pounding a bit. It was just a simple fever, but it still sucked. Cozbi shivered under the covers as she thought about what happened. It was supposed to be a simple rescuing quest to save her friends from the government, it was just a needle, it wasn't supposed to do much damage. Cozbi sighs as she took shelter on the bed.

The shelter- if you could even call it that- was just a rock formation with a campfire and old bed inside. From her guest, it was abandoned, left to rot like she was, and like she left her friends to be. Outside, it was lightly snowing and the wind was breezing softly. The fire was going, emitting some warmth and light inside the shelter. It wasn't that good of a shelter, old and rickety, but it was all she had.

All she had...

"Eve, just go!" Cozbi yells at her avian friend, who was fighting one of the government agents with her scythe. Eve refused to listen as she continued fighting with her scythe. Cozbi helped her out, slicing up the agents alongside Eve. "I said go!" she yells, pushing Eve back

"I'm not leaving without you!" Eve yells back

"Well I'm not leaving if your dead. Go help the others!" She gave Eve a glare, which finally pushed Eve to run and help her friends. Cozbi turns her attention back to the agents, attacking and slicing them. Then, the crow came

"Just give up, Cozbi. You're friends are dangerous to this earth!" he says in a gruff voice, "this is for everyone's own good,"

"What good is it to kidnap children!?" Cozbi snaps, swinging her scyther at the anthropomorphic crow. He steps back, his feather ruffling against each other

"They're barely even children," says the crow, grabbing Cozbi's arm and throwing her to the floor

"They're barely even adults!" Cozbi yells back, making her scythe disappear. She uses her magic to make a shield to push the crow away, draining some of her blood. She makes the shield dissapear as the crow falls off her, giving her enough blood again to make her scythe.

"Cozbi, your friends are a cult member, murderers, and guess what? The fourth one dissapeared in favour for monsters!" the crow explains, taking a syringe out of her pocket and lunging at Cozbi

"Eve and Jules are not murderers," Cozbi says, dodging out of the way, "Reck is not a cult member," she jumps out of the way of the crow again, "we did not kill Ram," she readied her scythe, glaring at the crow, "and nobody is in that cabin is a monster!" Cozbi yells, running over to the crow and swinging her scythe. The crow dodges again and grabs her arm, pulling her close. He stabs the syringe into her neck and Cozbi's eyes widen. However, instead of passing out immediately, she just felt weaker. She pushed the crow off her and took the syringe out of her neck, inspecting it.

An immunity destroyer. Shit.

The crow took out another syringe, filled with as substance of a known illness that's deadly to imps if their immune systems are destroyed. Cozbi knew that she had to run. She immediately ran from the building, slicing through agents. Once outside she took a leap of faith and spread her winged that she once thought weren't able to fly. As she flew over the forest below she looks down to see her friends being cornered and fighting the government agents. They wouldn't be able to hold them off long, Cozbi knew that. "I'll come back," she mutters quietly

"I promise."

Promised. She promised that she'll go back. And she will. Once this affect wears off. It should only wear off in a weak. Her friends were all she had and she couldn't lose them. Even the ones who she got along with less. The government had their grubby hands on them. Cozbi has to get back to them.

The imp grunts as she rolls on her bed, making her back face the outside of the rock formation and the fire. She was shivering a bit, the snow outside had gotten a bit harsher. But that's alright, she'll be fine.

She is going to be just fine

If it seems rushed, it is. Sorry.
