Work Text:

"Get back in here!"

"Okay, okay!"

Copia hastily exited the bathroom and scampered back into the living room, back to the blanket fort that he and his wife Larysa had constructed. Back to shared whimsy, and warmth, and comfort.

He carefully lifted the edge of one of the blankets, then crawled back inside, laying down next to Larysa, who was propped up on one elbow, eagerly waiting for him.

"Here I am!" He gave a little flourish with one arm, trying not to knock it into one of the large pillows holding up the haphazard structure.

"Finally." Larysa grinned and reached to pull Copia closer, wrapping her arms around around him. Holding him tight, the way she liked to. And the way he liked her to.

Copia tucked his head under her chin, returning her loving embrace. The red velvet of her tracksuit—that matched his own—was soft against his cheek.

They laid there for a bit, silently enjoying the coziness of the pillow fort and the warmth of each other, and the rare moment they actually had to just hang out and cuddle together. No responsibilities impatiently waiting for the two them, hastening their shared downtime. No one asking after Papa Emeritus the Fourth and Mother Prunikos, for this and that.

It was just the two of them. Just Copia and Larysa. Relaxing together.

It was nice.

"This is nice," he said.

"It is," she agreed.

Another stretch of silence followed as the two of them shifted around a bit, getting even more comfortable and close.

Larysa began to idly run her fingers through Copia's soft hair, and the gentle touch caused his eyelids to droop drowsily.

"I love you, baby," he murmured contentedly, eyes finally closing, feeling comfy and completely at ease in his wife's arms.

"I love you too, honey," she replied, her voice soft and soothing in Copia's ear.

Copia nuzzled his cheek against Larysa's chest, and let himself drift off to sleep, relaxed and secure with his wife.
