You Conected Us Through Time любов моя (my love)

Summary:

Day 6 of the rare pair winter shorts - Time travelling

Dara is at the Longbottoms so Percy can let lose, when he does a hidden revelation comes to light.

Work Text:

As soon as Viktor walked through the door, Percy was all grabby hands and leaning heavily upon him. "She ok? The wards set? She didn't cry?" Percy asked quickly, rattling the questions out so quickly Viktor had trouble understanding what his husband was actually saying, but their princesses name was repeatedly said so Viktor could make an educated guess.

“Dara is fine. She is happy. Neville had a tea set out, and they were playing tea parties as I left." Viktor said as he manhandled Percy over to the couch. He saw the empty glass on the table and smiled. Percy rarely drank and never when Dara was around, so Viktor had convinced Percy to let Dara stay over at the Longbottom's for the night so they could just relax and

Percy could loosen up a little. He had been stressed out this holiday season. Viktor wondered if it had something to do with the fact that George had just turned 40 this year, that Fred should have turned 40. This Christmas had had an air of depression around it; one Viktor had not felt in his extended family for many years.

So Viktor had persuaded Percy to send their daughter to their friends, her friends, for the night so Percy could get drunk if he wanted to. By the almost empty bottle of wine that had been full when he left, left, Percy had taken the offer quickly. It also melted Viktor's heart that even two sheets to the wind and Dara was, as always, Percy's first thought.

“And before you ask, yes. Harry has added extra wards and checked Neville's. He said thank you for finally getting Golden balls to strengthen them. He's been procrastinating for months, apparently. You asked for Dara, and he jumped to do it. Neville said it isn't fair that Dara's his favourite, and Pansy said that as their twins are her best friends, he should be quiet and accept the favouritism when it helps them." Viktor said with a smile.

One that got bigger and bigger when Percy threw his head back and cackled. "She's a good girl, woman ... Person. She is, she did good. Pansy should be proud, and so should Draco and Zams, Zan ... Blaise, and the lot of them. But especially Pansy. She did well after that shitshow." Percy said with a decisive nod. He then squinted up at Viktor. "You told her we're proud of her, right? Witch has a baby in her; she is hardcore, baby." Percy said with a decisive nod, feeling like he had sung Pansy's praises enough.

Viktor had to clear his throat so he didn't laugh at his intoxicated husband. Percy was always so overly affectionate with his words and actions when drunk. The rest of the time, he acted a little stiff and rigid, though still always full of love, especially for Viktor and Dara.

“I did not, but I shall in the morning любов моя (my love); I shall tell Pansy she is a gem among wizarding kind, and I'm sure she will be grateful."

"Pfft" Percy said, "Course she won't, self-centred Harpy," he said with a fond smile.

“Anyway, baby," he said as he wrapped his arms around Viktor's neck for a long, slow kiss.

Viktor responded immediately, his fingers digging into Percy's hips, leaving bruises just the way his husband loved. They kissed for a while, enjoying each other's presence, when Percy pulled back and giggled into Viktor's neck, where he rested his face. "I love you, you know. I am so glad you swanned through my floo in 07," he said. Viktor could feel Percy's smile against his neck.

“Me too. The best thing you ever did was tell me to return when we were teens."

Percy lifted his head, looking at Viktor, confused. "What do you mean?" he asked with a cute pout on his face.

Viktor couldn't resist kissing the frown lines on Percy's forehead. He propelled his languid husband down on the sofa and summoned another bottle of wine and a bottle of water.

"Drink this, Percy," he said, passing it over as he poured himself a glass.

He waited for Percy to finish his water before handing him another glass of wine. "We should probably sip these?" Viktor asked with a raised eyebrow. Percy flushed a deep red but smiled at Viktor, ignoring his soft chuckling.

“Yeah, yeah, what were you talking about anyway?" he asked as he leant further into Viktor's side.

“One moment," Viktor said as he waved his wand a few times, pulling out George's latest invention. It was a mix between a muggle movie player and a pensieve, meaning they could watch memories on a big screen together.

Even now, Viktor was in awe of how intelligent the Weasleys were as a whole, whether he was biased or not. He knew his husband was the smartest of the bunch; he just preferred order to George's chaos.

“What we watching?" Percy said as he flopped around like a fish on the sofa, finally landing with his upper body sprawled all over Viktor's lap. If he was honest, Viktor was impressed he had lost none of his drink as he did so.

“This, you do not remember?" Viktor asked with a frown.

Percy just made a noncommittal noise. He had no clue what Viktor was talking about.

“Just watch любов (love)" he said.

On the screen, a much younger Viktor was walking down the halls of Hogwarts. Percy sat himself up and squinted at the screen. "When was this?" he asked.

“About 2 weeks after the Yule Ball, not long after we talked about being together, after I knew I would love you for always," Viktor said with a soft smile.

"Oh. Oh ..." Percy said softly as he grabbed Viktor's hand and lowered himself down again.

They watched together as the much younger Percy walked up to Viktor, grabbed him by the robes and snogged the life out of him. "What on earth?" Percy stuttered out. He wasn't one for public displays even now, let alone when he had been 19.

“I know," Viktor said as he stroked his hand over Percy's head to settle him. "It was very confusing. We had talked about an hour before, and you were quite …. Aggressive." Viktor said, laughing in disbelief.

“Merlin, I'm not stopping," Percy squeaked out.

“You will so hush and listen," Viktor said close to Percy's ear, making him shiver.

They were quiet again as memory Percy pulled back. "Merlin смел красивият човек на огъня (my man of fire)," memory Viktor breathed out, obviously stunned by Percy's uncharacteristic aggressiveness.

44-year-old Percy paused the memory, looking at Viktor in confusion. "I don't remember this, and I'm sure I didn't look that angry at 19?" he said, cocking his head, examining the image before them in confusion.

“You did not. It was very confusing, especially as you had no memory of it; just listen. This is why I came through the floo in 07 because you told me to. Just listen." Viktor cajoled Percy, who had now sat up, staring at the screen.

Memory Percy was smoothing down the fur on Viktor's robes. "I missed you, you," he said, tears in his voice.

Memory Viktor looked at him, perplexed. "I missed you too, but I saw you an hour ago."

At that, Percy threw his head back and laughed. "Yes, you did, didn't you?" he said, obviously thinking. Well, I need you to listen, okay, Viktor?" he said earnestly.

“I am listening," Viktor replied.

“Many years from now ... many years when it looks like we are done, I will ask you to call me on the floo at Christmas. Come through, please don't let me slip through your fingers again?" Percy asked, tears falling down his face.

Memory Viktor wiped the tears off his face and kissed him sweetly. "Percy, I do not understand."

“I know," Memory Percy said. "But don't question it. You will remember when you need to, when it's time. But know that I love you now, and I love you then and all the parts in the middle. Just remember to come through the floo when invited to call. That's all you need to do, Vik,"

Memory Viktor stood there frowning, surprised by the words out of his Percy's mouth. The familiarity and nickname had thrown him. He was just left standing there as Memory Percy gave him a softer kiss and walked away without another word.

43-year-old Viktor turned the screen off and looked at his Percy. "I don't remember any of that," Percy said.

“I know; I believe whenever you go back, you obliviate yourself; it is the only thing I can imagine," Viktor explained.

“Why?" Percy asked, annoyed at himself.

“I can not answer for you, but we know how obsessive you can get. Maybe you knew you wouldn't be able to move forward after what happened knowing this. You never brought it up, so I didn't either."

“Huh…" Percy stumbled out, unsure what to say.

“Huh, indeed. I had all but forgotten over the years. It wasn't until the floo call in 07 that I remembered it at all, seeing how jealous you were over my nonexistent relationship with Harry. You obviously didn't, so I just put it to the back of my mind again." Viktor said soothingly.

"I wasn't jealous,” Percy mumbled, fiddling with his glass. He suddenly put the glass down, turned and lunged at Viktor as aggressively as his 19-year-old had. "Merlin, I love you, and

I'm glad I'm a genius who clearly figured out time travel to ensure you came home to me, where you belong." Percy said in a rush.

“I love you. You know that, right?" Percy asked him earnestly. "I felt it then. I felt it when my life was devoid of you, and I feel it now, more now than I ever have before. You're my everything, Viktor; thank you for loving me." Percy managed to get out between kisses and harsh breaths.

“As you are mine, смел като лъв (my brave lion). I love you too, and falling in love with you was the smartest thing I have ever done." Viktor said as he wrapped Percy up in his strong, reassuring arms.

They sat together on the sofa for who knows how long, revelling in their love and the others' proximity. Resting together peacefully in a bubble of happiness, support, and unconditional love.
