Summary
In 1926, a conflict brews within the Empire. Despite winning a massive victory against France, the war has revealed key flaws in the system of government that has kept the Empire together up to this point, and now it is falling apart at its seams. Everything is thrown into question during this key juncture on history from civil rights to systems of government.
Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov, an aerial mage born to the Russian Aristocracy, has an empathetic heart full of insight while her superior, a German war orphan named Tanya von Degurechaff, carries both the knowledge and traumas from another life. Caught in the middle of this conflict in the Empire, these two love-struck, magical, and very different women must work together to heal the hurt in themselves as well as one in the Empire before all is lost. They might even decide the fate of their country if they can avoid their love ending their careers.
This is the story of their love and the war they fought together.
