Summary
This is a tale set more than three thousand years ago, in the time of the Bronze Age Collapse. We follow our unusual heroine, Askara of a destroyed land, as she tries to paint some beauty into the darkness of her life as a gladiator for the Daevites. In spite of her incredible skill with the blade, Askara primarily views herself as something of an artist and performer, and through her potent imagination she assumes a series of roles to cope with her servitude.
