Marinette had adored the model Adrien Agreste for years now. He was her age, so she could simp over him all she wanted. He also lived in her neighborhood, so that was exhilarating and terrifying all the same.
She could run into him!
...With her clumsiness, she could 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 run into him.
Exciting and horrifying thoughts.
She was very, very open about this crush of hers. She would sit at the dinner table and ramble about his last photoshoot, how gorgeous his face was, how soft his hair looked, how PERFECT he was. She couldn't shut up about him.
As it got closer to Christmas, she dreamed of kissing someone (Adrien) under the mistletoe, baking cookies with someone (Adrien again), dancing in the snow with Adr- someone, just doing all those hallmark-y things with... Someone. (Adrien).
She knew these were all just dreams however, and would never come true.
She went out walking through the snow, her white boots blending in so well they were almost invisible. Her light pink coat was covered in small snowflakes, and she stared up at the sky, trying to catch one in her hand.
Then suddenly, she walked into someone. She nearly fell, but that someone caught her.
When she lowered her eyes from the sky to see who it was, she nearly screamed.
Two big green eyes stared worriedly at her. "I'm really sorry I wasn't watching where I was going and- are you okay?" Adrien asked her, letting her go once he was certain she wouldn't fall, all while she was staring at him in horror and awe, because AHHH ADRIEN AGRESTE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER AND HE WAS TOUCHING HER- NO HE WAS HOLDING HER AND SHE HAD JUST WALKED INTO ADRIEN. FREAKING. AGRESTE.
She quickly realized he was looking more worried every moment and that she had to say something before he looked any more worried because it was breaking her heart. "Yeah! I'm okay! Fine really, could say I've never been better! Perfectly wonderful in fact I am thriving right now!"
Okay she seriously needed to shut up.
Adrien tilted his head slightly like a confused puppy and she had to bite her tongue to keep from screaming because he was so adorable she couldn't take it. ".. Okay, that's good then!" He said, smiling, before his face turned apologetic. "I'm really sorry again, I wasn't looking where I was going."
She quickly shook her head. "No no! I wasn't either! You've never done anything wrong..." She realized she was definitely simping over him. In front of him. Vocally.
This was the worst.
No, the best.
She couldn't make up her mind!!
"Oh, okay. My name's Adrien Agreste! It's nice to meet you!" Adrien said as if there wasn't a huge billboard with his face and name plastered over it only 35 feet away.
"Marinette. My name's Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
Adrien's eyes lit up at her words. "Wait, like the bakery?"
Marinette widened her eyes in shock that he knew about the bakery. "Uhm, yeah! My parents are bakers and they own the bakery..." She trailed off, realizing he probably didn't care.
She was wrong. He really, really cared. "I've always wanted to go there...but I shouldn't, it's against the.. Wait. Those don't matter anymore." He stopped rambling to himself and looked at Marinette. "Can you show me the way to your bakery? I haven't been around here in...A while."
Marinette nodded, her face flushed pink. "Y-yeah, of course, follow me." Adrien nodded and followed her obediently, looking excited.
Marinette was melting, despite the freezing weather around them. But Adrien felt like a never ending source of warmth.
