Chapter 1: Are sparks real?

Chapter Text

“Okay, change of plans! Todd, here's what you’re gonna do.” The director started going on about how the scene should go as Todd and Envy were (barely) holding their want to kiss each other and not paying attention to the director.

“Todd, do you understand?”

“Totally.” Todd brushed him off, he smirked and looked uninterested as always, he kept brushing him off for all Todd cared, this was gonna be his entrance into the film industry which could lead to a broader career. Giving acting a chance might change the way his career leads to.

“scene 43, take 2.”

Todd started to do as the directions changed, he wrapped his arm around Wallace and leaned into how the director told him to, he didn’t think much of it as he kissed Wallace, but something clicked just right to him, the adrenaline went throughout him, he moved away from the kiss a bit surprised as he saw something -sparks, maybe?-

“And cut. Alright guys, I think we got the scene, take five everyone." The team started to move away, and Envy Adams, who was playing Ramona Flowers realized what just went on, before she could confront Todd about what just happened she saw Todd and Wallace were talking.

“What was that?” “What was what?” Wallace looked at him confused before realizing what was going on. “Hey, wanna run lines with me? maybe that way you could remember whatever that was.” she watched as Wallace grabbed onto the wrist of her boyfriend of 13 years and watched them walk off-set to Todd’s trailer.

As they both quickly went into the trailer, Wallace started making a move on Todd, they started to kiss while Todd's mind was trying to tell whatever it was that he was feeling at that very moment while he was making out with Wallace.

The door of his trailer closed, and he sat on the couch amazed, losing what could easily be his favorite shirt to the floor, he noticed how Wallace made his way out of the trailer without any issue or conflict in his mind

“I’m… fucked.” The words left Todd's mouth as he started to let out a smile and crack a laugh, his cheeks softly flushing as his mind could only think about the guy who just left.

He looked around and let out a sigh, he might be falling for this guy he just met but what the hell. Todd Ingram might like Wallace. What was his last name again? Maybe Todd doesn’t have the best memory when it comes to names and maybe he doesn't understand the relationship of his character with Wallace but he is trying his best to comprehend whatever this is.

“Alright, Scene 4 Take 1.”

The rockstar, started to get into the character that was Scott Pilgrim, though confused about why he had to have such a weird relationship with almost every other character, he tried his best in this new career

“I saw the girl of my dreams.” he quickly sat up on the bed and delivered his lines

“I didn't care the first time and I care even less.” His co-star just acted like how the script asked him -which only enough was how he woke up almost every other day back when the actual Scott had his dreams with Ramona Flowers in them.

“And cut! Wow, you two have some natural chemistry! Wells, Ingram; Keep it up!”

the director, after the mess that had been the day before decided to first do the scenes with Wallace and Scott- and maybe that wasn’t a bad idea as it was obvious they both enjoy doing such.

“Hey Wallace, do you wanna…” Todd started to show a red blush all over his face as he tried to ask Wallace out, trying to see if there was a chance of them going out, but his world came crumbling down as the dark-haired boy put words into the other’s mouth.

“Practice lines? your trailer. come on.”

“uhh-“ his words forever being cut as they rushed to Todd’s trailer, maybe it’ll start becoming more routine, having a weird fling on set with your character's roommate isn’t something one would first think of.

As they finally got to the trailer and hurriedly closed the door, Wallace pulled Todd close, kissing his lips over and over again, removing quickly the orange wig that they made him wear to play Scott, he pulled away from the kiss and looked him up and down with a small smirk, “that’s way better” he guided Todds’ hands towards his hips and kept him as close as he could Todd only thought about how Wallace might be the guy he wants to spend time with even if Wallace had something different in mind.

While Todd and Wallace were busy making out in Todd's trailer, Envy Adams stayed in hers, checking her clock, then her phone, and peeking her head out the window… They were supposed to practice a particular scene that Envy was looking forward to doing with her boyfriend.

“Todd Ingram, if you don’t come here soon, you'll be dead meat by tomorrow,” she mumbled to herself as the tears threatened to come out of her eyes. The redhead kept anxiously waiting for her boyfriend to walk through the door or to open a vegan porta inside her trailer, but nothing happened that night, she got stood up by the vegan rockstar, her bandmate, her boyfriend, her soulmate.

Even if they were both in the biggest band of the moment, Envy felt like nothing, as Todd did nothing but leave her behind.

The days kept going as the upcoming Canadian blockbuster was being filmed, even if the characters of Scott and Ramona were falling in love, Todd kept finding himself thinking of the other boy.

“Todd, did you even listen to what I said?” Envy Adams felt that her boyfriend’s demeanor kept changing towards her, maybe they were drifting apart for reasons unknown to Envy.

“Huh? Sorry, can you say that again?” Envys’ face went red, how come Todd was ignoring her this much? How dare he. They both looked at each other, Envy starting to get mad as Todd showed no interest in what was happening.

“Forget about it.”

The reason Envy and Todd were in the same room was to take a break from the movie, they thought (more so Envy) it would be a good moment to do something else and get started on the clash at Demonhead’s newest project that they’ll be working on.

“Todd, have you had any time to practice your part?” Lynette (the drummer) asked Todd who was playing the same note over again on his bass.

“no, Lyn. Todd’s been too busy to even practice lines with me.” She mumbled, as she shot daggers at Todd, so what if she wasn’t that discreet with how pissed she was at Todd, for all Envy cares Todd is interested in some stupid thing that isn't the band or scenes with the two of them.

“It’s whatever, I’m vegan and a rockstar.” Envy looked at him like he was a complete idiot, while Lynette kept finding it so charming. “You know how vegans have perfect memories.”

“I guess you have a point.” Lynette jokingly agreed with Todd as Envy furrowed her eyebrows and turned her back towards them.

“If you had a perfect memory, you wouldn’t have left me hanging while I waited for you to practice lines.” The room filled with silence, no one dared to speak for a good minute until Envy broke the silence again.

“Okay, let's get this song going.” she grabbed her lyrics and tried to hum the tune they were going for.

“Alright, no time to waste now.” Both Todd and Lynette nodded and they started band practice as they would’ve done before.

Ramona, being Envy’s stunt double, was pushed with everything Nat didn’t want to do, maybe for the best at times.

“Ramona! Just the girl I wanted to talk to.” Envy went up to Ramona and looked her dead in the eyes. “you're like, desperate to talk to my boyfriend aren’t you?”

Ramona looked at her with a blank stare “I wouldn’t call myself desperate, no. but, yeah I want to talk to him and clear stuff up, yeah.” Ramona was on a mission to try and make amends with all the members of the League of evil exes.

“Yeah, whatever, I don't care about your sob story. Look, something is going on with Todd and right now, I don't have the time or patience to talk to him. oh, and do you by any chance know if I could practice my lines with… Lucas Lee?” Envy started talking, though not going into detail when it came to the why of any of her demands.

“Okay hold on, I’ll go look into what’s going on with Todd, but you want me to talk to Lucas? why?” The girl with the skates looked confused about the last request as she tried to find a reason why.

Envy kept quiet, she looked around and then back to her stunt double “Why do you care? They pay you to do stunts, not questions.” Even with her cold hostile tone, you could see something was hurting her. Even if Ramona wanted to help her, Envy wouldn’t let her in.

Ramona nodded and got her phone out and went on her way to look for the upcoming movie star. “Hey Lucas, I got someone who wants to see you, don’t ask me why or who, just come to the studios.”

Envy took a look around and sighed, she was on her way to hair and makeup but she wished she could get out of this movie and go back to how the band was.

She heard how some wheels were making their way into the studios, she made her way over, and low and behold, Luacs Lee came to the movie set. The redhead felt a gentle smile and the great actor of Lucas Lee was standing right in front of her.

“Hey, Lucas.”

“Let's party.”
