Chapter Text
In the year 207X, the world before was filled with prosperity and evolution fell into an era of fear and chaos. Years ago, scientists created a device that could let you communicate with your thoughts. thoughts were manifestations of people in other dimensions in your mind and you can speak with them. Those manifestations seemed friendly at first, but we figured out too late that they wanted to take over our dimension because there's were collapsing. People all over the world went mad and their Thoughts took over their minds and turned them into their biggest fear. they multiplied and as the years went on, they were unstoppable.
"I am just a little boy, named Takarine. well, I'm not a little boy but, whatever. in my youth, my thoughts and imaginations are at their prime, but for some reason, I'm not infected or manifested yet. None of my family are." My mom who was paralyzed from the waist down struggled to survive. my dad always told me she'd only have a few months to live.
My dad had got an amputation at an early age. His leg was crushed by a building while he was fighting in a war. I had one sibling left. she was 3 years old but couldn't walk or talk yet. all she does is stare.
When I went to the kitchen, there was no food, no water, nothing. I sighed knowing I had to go and get food. I was the only one available. I'm not going to lie. it's scary out there... my parents waved me goodbye before I left.
I walked down the street and saw many of the nightmares and thoughts that rained the streets freely. I walked with my head tucked low, hoping they'd ignore me.
I finally made it to a store that looked like it had food, but the door was closed. I looked around for a brick and threw it at the window foolishly. it made lots of noise, but gladly no nightmares came. The store was dark, and I could see much so I took my flashlight out and began searching. there was some food, but that's better than nothing. I sighed in relief.
---3rd person POV
after a few minutes of searching Takarine had a full bag and was about to leave, until he heard a gun cock behind him and he held his hands in the air.
"Give me everything you have, Now" the voice demanded. the voice sounded like a girl and Takarine looked backwards and saw a girl who had black hair with red outlines randomly across her hair. Takarine stared at her in awe until she pressed the gun deeper into his back head.
"I know you heard me," she said coldly. Takarine then shook his head.
"I'm sorry, but I need these, for my family..." He said.
"Okay, and...?" she asked coldly. Takarine stood there in silence, angering the girl further.
"Just give me all your supplies, and I'll be on my way," The girl said emotionlessly. Takarine then put his hand on his heart.
"like I said, my family, my baby sister needs this... I can't just give it to you." Takarine said. The girl then angrily grabbed his hair and slammed him against a wall and put the gun to his chest
"idiot, I'm not going to ask again. I have no problem with killing you," she said coldly. Takarine then sighed.
"you want it, then take it," he said defeated. He removed a bag from his neck and handed it to the girl with tears streaming down his face. She pulled the top open and dumped the contents onto the floor. there were boxes of cereal, juice, milk, ramen, and eggs. quite a lot for a week at least.
"wow, this is good," she said as she put the contents in a bag. Takarine only watched helplessly as she took the food he worked hard for. he then began to cry.
"Please, I need something at least, I haven't eaten in days and my family is struggling enough as is." he pleaded. She ignored him.
"fine, I'll do -anything- you want," he said catching her attention.
"you can't be serious," she said in a monotonous voice.
"I am, just let me get 4 cans of food and I'll return, please" he begged. the girl then sighed and pointed the gun at Takarine.
"fine... but I'm going to follow you," she said.
"thank you miss..." he said hugging her, surprising her and making her angry.
"get off me!" she said shoving him off violently. Takarine quickly moved away from the girl and began to walk down the street. The girl followed close behind him. They continued down the road in silence until they came up to the house.
"This is the place, uh what's your name?" Takarine said opening the door to his House. The girl went into the house and then turned around.
"call me Rukira, got it?" she said stoicly. Takarine could only nod. l and he followed her inside.
Takarine's mom who was on the couch smiled.
"aww, my boy has got a girlfriend," she said teasingly.
"There is nothing about 'your boy' that is likable, I'd leave him to die in a heartbeat," Rukira said coldly. She sat down next to the couch.
"Okay okay, so how did you two meet?" Takarine's mother asked curiously. Rukira smirked.
"We met when he was trying to steal my food" she lied smoothly. Takarine was stunned.
"I didn't..." he said before he was cut off by Rukira pinching his thigh making him shut up.
"Takarine, I taught you better than to steal," his mom said scoldingly.
"yeah, he's a very bad boy," she said emotionlessly. Takarine tried to keep his anger down.
"Since I see that you need some food, I'll give you all 4 cans then I'll be leaving," she said placing the cans on a table. Takarine's father who was carrying Takarine's little sister came from upstairs.
"Hello, who are you?" he asked. Rukira didn't respond.
"I'll be leaving now," she said as she got up and walked to the door.
"Thank you Rukira," Takarine said genuinely grateful. Rukira stopped at the doorway and continued to walk.
the family ate dinner at a table and had a great time. after a dinner that filled the family up for the first time in years, they went to sleep.
it was midnight, and Takarine was sleeping soundly until he heard a loud crash coming from. the center of the house followed by a blood-curdling scream of pain. He instantly woke Takarine up and he sprinted to the living room and saw a nightmare that resembled a giant horse without fur and arms littered around its body. Its face was humanoid. the nightmare was trampling his mother under its hoof. Takarine was frozen in fear and his body wouldn't react.
The nightmares then started to approach him slowly. he backed into a corner and watched helplessly as his death approached him. it was then a gunshot rang throughout the area. the nightmare was shot through its eye causing it to shriek. it was his father. he shot again and again until he ran out of ammo.
"darn it," he said as he grabbed another mag from his pocket, the nightmare then rushed to him and trampled him too.
1st person (Takarine)
My father fought for his life as he started paralyzed in the heart. I told my body to go over there and help him, but it wouldn't listen. my mom then yelled something at me with blood rushing from her mouth. that gave me the strength to pick up a glass pane and run to the nightmare. I managed to stab it in the leg and I ran the glass down to get its attention. it screamed and turned its attention toward me. I ducked a swing from one of its arms and stabbed its other left leg and it's tipped over. I grabbed my bag picked him up and rushed him to a safe place. luckily, I had enough time to move my mother too. my mother then spoke.
"Opa is in the room upstairs, bring her here please," my mother said. I nodded and went upstairs. I found the baby on the ground crying loudly. when I went to retrieve her,
I felt a sharp pain in the middle of my stomach, making me gasp and fall to the floor, holding the wound. a nightmare approached me and swung its large sword at my head. dodged swiftly then I quickly rolled on my side and grabbed my mother's knife, standing back up I stabbed its 3rd leg, but this time it didn't damage it. I was shocked as it swung its arm and I flew downstairs. I started to lose consciousness.
3rd person pov
Takarine was knocked out and showed no signs of moving. Takarine's dad grabbed a gun and shot it again, but the bullet went through its body and landed in a wall. They thought their life was finished until they saw a light come from behind the creature. Takarine stood up cryptically and smiled evilly. he then roared like a beast scaring everyone, including the nightmare. Takarine had a black tattoo going down his face and 2 black wings. he also had spikes coming from his skin and all his injuries were healed. the nightmare rushed to Takarine, but Takarine stopped it with one hand. Takarine only laughed manically and punched it to the sky sending it to the stratosphere. Takarine teleported to the nightmare and kept his sadistic smile. the nightmare tried to hit it with its thousands of arms but every one of them missed. he grabbed each hand individually and crushed them one by one. Takarine then kicked the nightmare to the ground and it landed inches away from the family.
Takarine slowly descended with his smile growing wider. he grabbed it by the head and tossed it outside the house. the nightmare tried to escape but then Takarine pointed at its leg and it imploded instantly. the nightmare couldn't run. Takarine slowly approached the nightmare which desperately tried to flee. Takarine then used his hand like a knife and stabbed it in the leg and cut through the entire body making it two. the nightmare was still alive but was being tortured.
Takarine then grabbed its eyes and pulled all 4 out one by one, then ripped its mouth open. the family watched in horror as their son was not only killing a nightmare but doing it brutally. they crawled to their baby and picked him up. they then crawled to Takarine who was still brutalizing the nightmare even when it died. Takarine then turned back animalistic.
"Son, you saved..." Takarine's dad said before being stabbed in the face by Takarine's hand, killing him instantly. he then ripped his head off and crushed it mercilessly. Takarine's mother watched in horror and tried to escape, but couldn't do much because of her paralyzed legs. She then turned back and started begging for her life.
"Takarine, what's the matter? what's wrong with you?" she said fearfully. Takarine then kneeled beside her and smiled evilly. he grabbed her arm and squeezed it tightly popping it like a balloon. She screamed in immense pain as she rolled over to hold her severed arm. Takarine then moved into her leg grabbed her leg lifted her in the air and slammed her to the ground cracking her skull. he then went to her head took a bite out of it mercilessly and continued eating until he heard the baby crying. he stopped what he was doing looked at the baby and smiled again. he crawled like an animal to him and before he could do anything he got a massive headache and grabbed his head, screaming hysterically and loudly, shaking the earth to its core. buildings around him collapsed and the ones that didn't, the glass broke from them. he slowly turned back to his human form and blood seeped from his back, and the skin where his spike came out of Takarine then passed out.
--Takarine's POV
I woke up and the first thing I saw was the nightmare killed. I then stood up and smiled. I then felt a pain throughout my entire body. I looked down and saw my little sister crying and I picked her up and rocked her until she got quiet. I looked at the beasts and noticed their wounds.
"did Rukira do this?" I asked myself I then thought about my parents panicked and turned around. I was shocked to see what happened to them.
"MOM, DAD!" I yelled walking over to them. I saw my dad, who was headless and blood still dripping from his neck and body. As for my mom, I looked at her in horror, as I saw her arm and leg missing and her head had a few humanoid bites on the side of her head. I got on my knees and began crying.
"This can't be real, right?" I asked myself. Bloody tears rushed from my eyes as I cried painfully.
