But that wasn’t really living, Hua Cheng thought bitterly. That was surviving. It was clawing his way through life until he wore his fingers down to blood and bone. The only solace he had ever felt since his mother’s death was Xie Lian. He had lived less when he was actually alive. And now In death he finally gets to bask in that solace ever day.
But now that solace is being invaded. Ripped from his grasp, and dipped in poison. Now the feeling of soft hands and loving praise makes him want to curl up in shame and cry. He doesn’t deserve gentle, he doesn’t even deserve rough either. He just doesn’t deserve.
