Shouta Aizawa sighed as he watched Eri talking to members of UA and Ketsubutsu Academy, as Uraraka fiddled with Eri’s red Christmas dress. Looking to his left, he saw Bakugo screaming at a member of their rival school, which caused Shouta to fine. He knew it was a bad idea to combine UA and Ketsubutsu for the Christmas Party.
He felt Emi’s footsteps behind him, turning his eye to take in his girlfriend’s appearance once again as he drank his eggnog. She wore a very Christmas-inspired outfit that literally had jingle bells on her red dress. She wore a santa-hat to top it all off.
“Isn’t this great, Eraser?”, she said cheerfully.
“Actually, the eggnog tastes like Mic forget to add th-“
“No”, she said with a laugh, “I mean our schools celebrating Christmas together! Look at our kids bonding!”
“Bakugo and Shindo look like they’re about murder each other.”
“But…look at the others!”
Shouta just shakes his head. “Whatever you say, Emi.”
She nudges him, “But hey, this is the first Christmas we’re spending together…”
Shouta quirked an eyebrow, “We’ve spent plenty of Christmas’ around each other.”
“Yes”, she says, dragging out the word, “But not…together.”
“Oh”, Shouta said, having not really thought about it.
There was a moment of silence as they watched their students, as Shouta let her words sink in. He was new at this whole boyfriend-thing, but he felt like he was supposed to make this special somehow, but…he also needed to prioritize Eri.
And well, he had been thinking about ways to start bringing those two parts of his life together. While Eri and Emi had spent time together with him, it really hadn’t been a true connection of both of the most important parts of where his life was at on a personal level.
He planned to have Emi in his life for the foreseeable future, perhaps even on a more permanent basis at some point, but Eri was his main priority and he needed to see if he could truly combine them. Because with his injury and new role in the hero world, he felt a strange desire to in some ways, begin branching out into new territory and perhaps…this was the first step to the next chapter of his life.
“Eri and I are decorating the second tree tomorrow, and if you wa-“
“Second tree?”, she said with a grin.
Shouta felt slightly embarrassed. “She likes decorating trees.”
“So, you just…get here more trees to decorate? Oh, you are such a softie, Eraser”, Emi said with a teasing grin.
Shouta sighs, “Whatever, Forge-“
She grabs his arm and smiles at him sweetly. “I would love to help. I’ll bring the snacks!”
“Why do we need snacks?”
“Because”, she says exaggeratingly, “It’s a big event, isn’t it? Gotta make it exciting!”
Shouta smiled despite himself, “If you’re there, I’m sure it won’t be boring.”
“Awe, you’re so sweet to me”, she said in a sing-song voice.
“Didn’t say it was a compliment.”
She scoffed at him and playfully slapped his arm, as Shouta took another drink of the lackluster eggnog, musing about the next evening where for the first time in his life, he would be spending a Christmas event with his daughter and, the woman he loves.
