Work Text:

The snow blew wildly outside, accenting the soft crackle of the campfire playing on the TV. It was late morning, a couple hours after the four had woken up.

Adrien was sitting on the couch arm, looking over Marinette's shoulder as she knit something with red yarn. Felix was reading as Kagami sat across from him, sketching something in her sketchbook.

It was very peaceful, but that wouldn't last.

The quiet sounds of knitting needles clacking, pages turning, and pencils scratching softly against paper were interrupted by Adrien getting up and walking to the kitchen, hungry.

He opened the fridge and stared into it, and closed it. He opened the cabinets and stared into them until something caught his eye.

He pulled out a basket of sprinkles, chocolates, and other toppings that he had impulsively bought a few days ago, and turned to the others. "Guys... I have an idea!"

If he heard Felix and Kagami groan softly, he didn't think anything of it. Marinette, still naive to his typical plans, looked up at him eagerly. "What is it?" She asked, a small smile on her lips.

She had pretty lips.

They looked soft.

He knew from experience that they were soft.

He missed them.

Wait, what?

Adrien blinked his thoughts away and smiled brightly. "We should bake cookies! Except, instead of all together, we should split into teams and try to see who can bake better cookies."

Everyone blinked, almost in sync.

"That sounds like a great idea Adrien!" Marinette said, smiling excitedly.

"Yeah, but aren't Marinette's parents bakers?" Kagami asked.

Marinette nodded. "They are, but I don't help them as often as you think. I'll team with Adrien, that way it's even."

Adrien was so excited to be teaming with Marinette! He grinned brightly at her words.

Marinette was panicking because oh no she just accidentally insulted Adrien she just wanted an excuse to team with him!!

Felix and Kagami were trying really hard not to laugh.

Marinette went back to her dorm and brought back aprons for all of them. They didn't ask her why she had four aprons in her school dorm.

They all gathered in the kitchen to make a plan. Kagami and Felix would go to the girl's dorm, and Adrien and Marinette would stay here. They agreed that Felix and Kagami would come back in 2 hours, and they'd decide who's cookies were better.

Marinette and Adrien were now alone in the boy's dorm.

Adrien followed Marinette as she explained that they'd need to melt the butter.

Then, she told him to sift the flour, baking soda and salt while she beat the sugar and margarine.

He wasn't really sure what "sifting" or "beating" meant, but he didn't want to look stupid in front of Marinette, so he didn't ask. He assumed it was like stirring.

He stirred a bit too violently and flour went all across the kitchen, including he and Marinette's faces.

Marinette stared at him for a moment, and he giggled sheepishly. "Whoops.."

She stuck her finger in the mix she had made and dolloped some on his nose, smiling smugly. He went cross eyed for a moment and then the two started laughing. That wasn't the only time flour or batter made its way onto one of their faces.

Felix and Kagami had been baking in an orderly fashion, chatting to each other about classes, Christmas, and their crazy roommates. Everything has been going normally. Until...

Kagami carefully dotted sugar on her lips, and waited for Felix to notice, his attention to detail never missing anything.

A minute later, he spoke up. "Kagami, how in the world did you get so much sugar on your lips?"

She grinned slightly. "I don't know. I guess you might as well get it off for me."

She looked at him intently, waiting for him to realize.

When he did, his cheeks blossomed pink and he stared at her, eyes wide. "O-oh." He said under his breath. "Okay.."

She smiled, and then went up on her tip toes and kissed him.

Felix's eyes widened, even though he knew this would happen.

Their second kiss was just as magical as their first. The sugar between their lips tasted as sweet as the moment was, and Felix forgot where he was and what they were supposed to be doing.

The kiss merely lasted 7 seconds, but it felt like an eternity. And even that wasn't enough.

He wanted more, but he also knew that they had cookies to finish.

He didn't want to have to tell the other two that they hadn't finished their cookies because they were too busy kissing. Adrien would never shut up about it.

The two attempted to go back to their orderly baking, but they were both so flustered that they kept dropping things. They had to take a few minutes to collect themselves before they could continue.

Soon, All four were done. They had baked, decorated, and were ready to show the other pair.

Felix and Kagami took their plate back to the boy's dorm and Felix unlocked the door. They stepped inside to flour coating the entire kitchen, and the pair inside it.

Adrien grinned proudly, smudged batter on his face and hands and flour coating his face and dusting on his hair. Marinette smiled at them and waved slightly, her face, hair and hands in the same state as his.

Kagami and Felix stared at them, wondering how in the world they had gotten so messy.

Felix opened his mouth to question it, but closed it again when he realized he actually really didn't want to know.

They placed the two plates of cookies on the table and tasted each.

The cookies tasted as they looked. Marinette and Adrien's were messy, but full of love.

Felix and Kagami's were well crafted and sweet, like a professional would do it but with a hint of originality.

In the end, they couldn't pick a winner.

They all ate a few cookies each with some milk.

They had more cookies than they knew what to do with, so they walked around the dorms handing out cookies to the other students, but not before Marinette and Adrien cleaned off.

They all collapsed on the couch, exhausted from their baking escapades, and turned on some sappy hallmark movie as they sunk into the plush couch. Tired, but happy.
