Chapter 1: Christmas Bells

Chapter Text

Namjoon put the christmas decorations out from the box and started to sort out the green and red ones. This year Seokjin has decided to go with a classic green and red theme for Christmas. Today, all the materials were delivered and since Christmas is around the corner, they were trying to decorate the house.

“Wow, they look amazing Joon.” Jin said as he walked into the living room with the toddler in his arms who was in his bunny pajama set. “Tweee.” Jungkook said pointing at the big green Christmas tree at the corner of the living room.

“Yeah! That's a Christmas Tree. We will decorate it and leave cookies for Santa so he will eat cookies and leave presents for us.” Seokjin explained to the two year old. Tonight, they had an early dinner so they could decorate the tree with their baby boy Jungkook who was really excited for Christmas.

“Now, get to work you two.” Namjoon said as he stood up holding red bells in his hands. “Appa Fawryyy…” Jungkook said, looking at the decorations. “Yeah bunny, we have a fairy too. You wanna put it up?” Seokjin said fondly and the toddler nodded. Jin helped Jungkook put the little fairy up on the tree. “Daddy, no twain…” Jungkook squealed when Namjoon tried putting the train next to the fairy.

“Put it on yourself then bunny.” Namjoon said, taking the toddler in his arms. Once the train was up next to the mickey mouse, the toddler seemed happy. “Now, let appa and daddy do the work and you sit and enjoy.” Namjoon said and tried to put the toddler down who started to whine.

“No…uh….” Jungkook kicked his little legs. Namjoon turned to his husband, huffing,”He is learning these tantrums from you hyung.”

“Hahh… Joonie, what do you mean he is learning it from me? I don’t throw tantrums. Don’t you agree Kookie?” Jin asked the toddler who was busy reaching out to the green balls hanging down from the tree. Jin kissed the boy’s cheek and said,”One of us have to hold him then. He wants to help us.”

“I will hold him, you get to work hyung.” Namjoon said, hugging his son close, rubbing his hand over his soft bunny night dress. “You dare order me around Joon, you want to get on Santa’s naughty list?” Jin teased as he leaned to pick up some gift hangings for the tree. “Santaaaa” Jungkook said, clapping his hands.

“You want santa bunny?” Namjoon said as he gave a small santa soft toy to the toddler. They bought it to put it under the tree, but Jungkook can surely play with it for the time being right?

Namjoon gently put the toddler on the rug with Santa and some cushions. He turned to find his husband struggling to put the star at the top. He walked up to him and they put it on the star together.

“Jungkook is growing up pretty fast.” Seokjin said as he hung his son’s name tag on the tree. “Should we tell him Santa is not real then?” Namjoon asked and Seokjin slapped his husband lightly on the shoulder. “Don’t you dare Joonie. I don’t get you and Yoongi, why do you want to spoil a child’s fantasy?” Jin grumbled and Namjoon just laughed.

“Appa, Daddy… Ding.” Jungkook yelled as he pulled himself up on his feet. “What bunny?” Jin asked, confused. “Ding ding…” the toddler insisted pointing at the door.

“Oh! somebody is at the door.” Namjoon said and at that moment the doorbell rang again. “Let’s check the door.” Namjoon said as he picked the toddler up and walked to the door. They were not expecting anyone at the moment but they were sure it must be one of their friends.

“Heyy… Kookie.” Taehyung said as he walked inside the moment Namjoon opened the door. Jimin was behind him with a box of cookies. “Hello hyung, we were nearby getting some cookies, we got some for Jungkookie too.”

Taehyung took Jungkook in his arms and swung him round making aeroplane noises. Jin laughed, shaking his head. “Wow, the tree looks beautiful. We are going with a golden and red theme.” Taehyung said walking closer to the tree. “Do you like the tree Kookie?” he asked, turning to the toddler in his arms who chirped at the attention. “We were not expecting you guys.” Namjoon said as they all stood near the tree.

“We were actually going home after dinner but then, Tae found cookies and we couldn’t resist bringing some for Jungkookie.” Jimin as he took the toddler in his arms. He hugged him close, kissing over the face making the baby giggle. “Your uncles are here with cookies.” he said as he bounced the toddler who squealed happily.

“Cookie fwr Kookie.” Jungkook said, pointing his finger to himself. “Yeah, Kookie. You’re getting cookies for Christmas.” Jimin said his voice full of excitement.

“By the way, you guys got presents for him?” Taehyung asked as he picked up the abandoned santa soft toy from the floor. “Yeah, we have got him clothes, books and some toys.” Jin said proudly. They had spent days searching for perfect presents for their baby boy.

“Cookie now.” Jungkook said. “Bunny, what do we say when we want something?” Jin chided, he was not going to raise a spoiled brat. He was really serious about teaching Jungkook manners.

“Can Kookie have a cookie pweaseeee?” Jungkook asked politely and Jin cooed. “That’s my baby. You can have one but then, you’ll need to brush your teeth again okay?” Jin asked the toddler who nodded.

“He is so cute hyung.” Jimin said as he held the toddler close who was waiting to get a cookie. Jin set a cookie on the platform of the high chair. Jimin sat the toddler down on his seat. Leaving the toddler with his cookie, the adults moved near the Christmas tree to finish the decoration.

“Hyung, this one should go next to fairy.” Taehyung suggested pointing at the elf toy. “Oh! I forgot about it. I need to tell Kookie that the elf is here to watch him. He needs to be on his best behavior.” Jin said, picking up the small elf.

“So, you’re not going with Yoongi hyung’s advice of telling Kookie the truth about Santa?” Jimin asked, giggling. “I don’t want to ruin his childhood Jimin-ah.” Jin said, frowning.

“Bunny, no no we don’t do that!” Namjoon’s urgent voice grabbed everyone’s attention. Namjoon was kneeling near Jungkook who had eaten half of the cookie and the rest he was smashing on the highchair's platform. Namjoon was quick to open the platform and put it on the counter. He grabbed a towel and started to wipe the toddler who started to whine.

“I know bunny, I know I am interrupting your playtime but we don’t play with food.” Namjoon said, but the toddler started to cry, reaching out for cookies. Jin was quick to rescue Namjoon knowing his husband couldn’t handle the crying toddler well.

“Hey Kookie, see the elf is watching you. If you won’t behave he will tell Santa you’re not a good boy and he won’t give you any gifts.” Jin said and Jungkook started to cry harder. “Gifff…. Gif.” he hiccuped.

“Shhh…. Don’t worry uncle Jimin will cover Elf’s eyes so, he won’t see anything this once.” Jin said in a hushed voice. Toddler immediately stopped crying when Jimin moved and hid the elf in his palm. “Clean up Kookie fast.” Jimin encouraged.

Namjoon got back to his task of cleaning the toddler’s face and hands. He took him to the kitchen counter and washed his hands. “You guys are really good with him.” Jimin said putting the elf back on the tree.

“It’s all hyung.” Namjoon said, patting the hands of the toddler dry. “Joonie just never admits but Kookie loves his daddy when he gets sleepy.” Jin said as he took the happy toddler in his arms.

“Baby, we don’t waste food like that. You’re a good boy, right?” Jin spoke in a soft tone. “Kookie good boy.” the toddler said proudly. “Do you want to sleep?” he asked.
“No.” Jungkook said with a shake of his tiny head.

“Ofcourse, you don’t.” Jin said, rolling his eyes. “But, you need to be a good boy.” he said walking towards the trio. “Kookie Koo… do you wanna play?” Taehyung asked as he took the toddler in his arms.

“You guys finish the decoration, I will keep him entertained.” he said to others as he took the toddler to the couch. He grabbed the Santa soft toy and some other soft toys to play with the toddler.

Namjoon looked around at Jin and Jimin bickering over the decorations. Then, he looked at his son playing with Taehyung who was making funny faces at him. He smiled, thanking the heavens for all this.

“Namjoon’ah, stop being lazy, come and help.” Jin said as he tried to untangle the series of small lights.
