Work Text:
4 months, 7 days, and 13 hours.
That’s how long Floyd has been living in pop village with his family while he healed. He was getting better, slowly. He had headaches almost continuously and his muscles ached if he did too much physical activity, but he was healing.
He was standing in branch’s kitchen as he chatted away, finally tackling the stack of dishes piling up in his sink. The older of the 2 leaned on the counter, giving input every once in a while so Branch knew he was listening. His elbows held his body up on the counter with his back resting on it, one leg crossed over the other as he listened intently to his baby brother.
Well, he was listening until branch’s rambling started becoming ineligible. He was confused, branch’s words sounding like gibberish until they slowly faded out into static. He strained his ears, still not hearing anything from the working brother.
Unbeknownst to him, Branch noticed his brother’s confusion. “Floyd? Are you ok?” He asked, tilting his head as Floyd stared at the ground. The youngest’s face fell, putting down the half clean plate before walking up to his brother.
He snapped his fingers in front of Floyd’s face, even more concern showing in his features when he didn’t react. He was about to go get his older brothers when Floyd’s arm twitched, then his leg. That’s when it clicked, he was having a seizure. Right before Branch could do anything Floyd’s whole body convulsed, his body falling into the younger’s as he shook intensely.
Branch quickly and gently laid him on the floor, holding his head in his lap so he didn’t hurt himself. He closed his own eyes and held his brother’s head firmly but not enough to hurt him. He waited for what felt like forever before Floyd’s convulsions slowed, before turning into tiny shakes.
Branch opened his eyes, watching as Floyd blinked his own before groaning. His eyes were dry as they stayed open the whole time. He looked up to see his terrified brother above his face. “What.. what happened?” Floyd muttered, his head pounding.
“I think you just had a seizure..” Branch whispered, not knowing if he should get the others or stay with Floyd.
Floyd blinked, confused. Seizure? One second he was listening to his baby brother ramble about his girlfriend and the next he was on the floor. He didn’t remember falling, or moving at all.
“I’m gonna go get John Dory and the others, don’t move your head.” Branch said, sliding a towel from the counter under the elders head before walking to his elevator. Floyd stared at the ceiling as he waited, not wanting to move either as everything ached painfully. Did he really just have a seizure? He thought he was healing, he was finally getting freedom again from JD’s constant whining and over protective nature. Now he just restarted the whole healing process. Great.
Before he could get another thought in, JD and Clay rushed in, Bruce and Branch not far behind. “Floyd are you ok?? Branch said you had a seizure?!” JD worried, sliding next to him on the floor. “Yeah I think I’m-“ before he could get another word out he gagged, Clay understanding immediately, shoving a trash can into JD’s arms as he was closer. Bruce ran over, propping his head to the side so he didn’t choke on his own bile as Floyd lost his lunch in the trash can. Tiny diamond tried to scoot away, as he was in the baby carrier on the heartthrobs chest. “OH ****” Tiny yelled, covering his eyes to shield them from the vomit.
He spit one more time, letting his head go limp into Bruce’s hold as he heaved. The stomach reset took a lot out of him. He shut his eyes, quickly passing out from exhaustion.

Floyd woke up many hours later, his eyes opening slowly before he looked at his surroundings. He was sitting on Branches living room couch. His head was resting on Bruce’s shoulder, the second oldest fast asleep with tiny diamond passed out as well.
He smiled softly at the sleeping baby, glancing over to the other couch to see the other 3 fast asleep also. John Dory was sitting normally, his elbow holding his face on the arm rest as he snored quietly. Clay was on the top of the couch, laying on his stomach with one arm hanging down.(I have slept like this before) and then there was branch, he had his arm bent as a makeshift pillow under his head. His body diagonal with his head and arm on the headrest and the bottom half being on the cushions.
Floyd guessed Poppy came after he fell asleep because she was cuddling up with him, her face in his torso as she slept peacefully.
He smiled again, maybe a little more recovery time wouldn’t be so bad.
