We keep on meeting like this…
... is there something more going on between us, than simply a nasty hello with a deadly sword?
The fight between us having only just begun
Yeah, we both knew it! This would be so much fun!
The never ending loop we seem to be stuck inside of
Not that either of us is doing anything to get it to stop
The sabres clashing loudly, the bright lights flashing
Rattling them with ease, like some kind of animals in heat
For anyone else looking, this could easily seem like we’re up hooking!
And perhaps those onlookers would be so totally right!
As it so seems, that whatever this is between us
Will only come alive during some life threatening fight!
Each time we meet, there are no ‘hello, how are yous’ ever to be said
Only the long, venomous glances given, as if something of a challenge issued
Understanding each other, the competition begins, as do the lingering stares
We keep on dancing the eternal dance, never giving the moment a chance
To lay down our weapons, to perhaps reckon, to the perhaps one solemn fact
That we two are more alike than we are different, but then again, opposites do attract
So why should we even consider, the two of us could be the perfect match?!
We are enemies after all, so we should not really consider this, a ball
An invite to something more, or then, we are both in the wrong?
As sometimes, the simple solutions, go beyond any established institutions
The gut feelings we both know we have inside of us, telling both there is an us
So, will it be you or then should it be me?
Yielding, laying down our weapons freely?
Or then perhaps, we simply enjoy this long ballet of a ballet we keep on doing
After all, what else could the two of us be doing? We’re soldiers, warriors, something akin
But, an alternative does exist, in some multiverse perhaps?
Us kissing, cuddling, each other loving?
