The latest conflict of the two having ended up a really bad fight with Sabine almost dying.
Almost.
Thankfully, the lightsaber having spliced her body had missed all the vital organs. Either by design or simply, by dumb luck. Whatever the reason, Sabine was lucky to be alive.
For some reason, Sabine wanted to think it was the first option though. That her antagonist, Shin Hati, had not really wanted or tried to kill her, not on purpose, rather to scare Sabine, make a point in a manner of speaking. That she was a better fighter perhaps, or then, that Shin felt her cause was more just than Sabine’s?
As to they why Sabine was feeling this way was still out there.
Well, Sabine had to admit she found her adversary, as it was what Shin was to her, an enemy, well, of sorts. At least a hard obstacle on the road if nothing else. But, Sabine found Shin rather fascinating on several levels at that.
And their little dance around with the lightsabers up and till that fatal point had been… kinda hot?
Yes, Sabine was finally admitting to herself she had developed a slight fondness for her so called nemesis, Shin Hati. A crush perhaps? No, it was just, appreciation for the red lightsaber wielding woman’s skills, right?
And Shin’s body movements had been… exquisite. The soft grunts and growls having sent all kinds of chills down Sabine’s spine during their dance fight. The good kind, for sure.
Oh-oh!!!
Sabine was suddenly feeling all hot and flustered again. Must’ve been the fever from her healing wound. She was still affected by the stabbing, right? The surgery, the bacta… she was still healing after all.
Yeah, definitely all those reasons, nothing else!
Sabine was still recovering and getting hot flushes was all part of the process.
At least those were the lies she was telling herself while lying on her back with just her thoughts to entertain herself. Those pesky and unyielding and rather vivid images of a certain blonde lightsaber waving woman moving her body just so… perfectly!

Shin was back in the quarters she called home.
At least it was home for the time being. The fancy estate of Morgan Elsbeth’s she and Baylan had been offered to stay in while in Morgan’s service. It was all fine and good for those into those kinds of things in life, which Shin was not. But yeah, a soft bed and a warm meal with actual water for the shower… it was, fine.
What Shin was more interested in though was the fact that she had managed to get artefact back from the Jedi. Well, non-Jedi, whatever they called themselves these days was neither here nor there. They used the Force, same as Shin, but they were, different to her in every single way. Again, Shin really did not care. As she had a job to do, not to think about, others.
After Ahsoka Tano having made it to the source, the hidden underground temple and getting the artefact from there while beating Morgan’s droids to the punch. Well, now, a wrong had been righted. Shin’s job.
And os now, the ball-thingy of a star-map was were it belonged. And perhaps, Morgan would finally get off of her back! At least, that was what Shin hoped. Having run amok half the galaxy to get to the precious ball-thingy only to be stopped by the… non-Jedi.
Heavy sigh!
As to why Baylan insisted on being in the service of Morgan Elsbeth was beyond Shin.
They had had it fine before, just the two of them. Going where they pleased, doing what they wanted. And now? Well, they were restricted to those chores Morgan saw fit to give them. Even giving the two orders?
Why? Who was she to do that?
Shin and Baylan were strong in the Force, superior to most wielders. They should not be taking orders from anyone, let alone some wanna be Dathomirian witch!
Oh kark!
Going after the wannabe Jedi, which the purple head clearly was, it was beneath Shin as well. At least, she had thought so before.
But, the non-Jedi had put up a good fight, that much Shin had to admit. And, she had looked pretty damned good in doing so too. Clearly, this not being her first round with a lightsaber either.
Shin tried to get more comfortable, get some shuteye for a change.
Alas her mind wasn’t letting her to get the needed rest. Rather it kept going back to the purple haired one, the wannabe Jedi. Shin knew her name of course. Sabine Wren. Of course she did.
A Mandalorian having made a name for herself. The same one having been part of the Rebellion. A decorated officer no less. Yeah, Shin had looked her up before going after her. After all, Shin liked to be prepared when going against an unknown opponent.
She tried to relax, using meditative traits to do so.
Okay brain, back to sleep now!
It worked, for a moment it did.
And then surely enough, the vivid and rather detailed images of a certain purple haired female kept popping into her mind. The long strands waving in the air as she fought against Shin… the noises of the woman fighting against her waking up something deep within Shin had thought long since been locked away.
The moves her adversary had made while fighting back. Dodging her attacks, well, most of them until the accidental stabbing had happened. Shin hadn’t meant it though. It had just, happened.
But, Shin had checked what happened to the non-Jedi and knew Sabine was alright. Recovering in a medical bay. Thankfully!
As to the why Shin was thankful as Sabine certainly was her enemy?
Well, it seemed there was something about this, particular woman which made Shin’s heart palpitate ever so slightly stronger and louder than usual. Something which had never happened to her.
Ever since their first conflict, Shin had not been able to shake off the thoughts of the one Sabine Wren. Shin was so confused about this all.
Karking hell! Come on sleep, consume me already!
Trying to concentrate on that, the sleep. Shin finally fell into a slumber. Her dreams filled with images of the one she really did not want to thing about… Sabine Wren.

As to why Shin had snuck into the medical bay was beyond her.
But, her sleep having painted all kinds of scenarios Shin wasn’t prepared to admit to out loud in the real world… Guess she still had to know though. To make it clear for herself that her unconscious was simply playing tricks at her expense. And there was one way to find that out.
And so, here Shin was, sneaking in to the room of her pestering dreams source.
It was night cycle, and Shin having managed to make her way across the corridors of the otherwise silent facility with everyone and their pet tooka already asleep.
She managed to hack into the computer files of the med bay and find the room number where Sabine was kept in rather easily too. Having skills of plenty as she did.
It did not take long to find the correct one, the room dark with only sound being the soft breathing of a slumbering Sabine.
Shin moved stealthily and was by the bedside of Sabine’s. The sliver of the twin moon light shining on the face of the sleeping beauty Shin saw before her.
Sleeping beauty!!!
Oh-oh!
Shin had it bad, clearly not her brain making her feel things in her sleep only, but awake too!
This was bad, on so many levels!
There was one final test though to prove her brain was tricking her. And then, Shin would be free of these, thoughts. At least, that was the plan. How flimsy it just might have been.
Shin stood there for a moment longer, staring at Sabine’s face. Her eyes finding each and every plane of the woman on the bed. Soon etched in her memory too.
Yeah, this wasn’t going well at all. And certainly not as planned either!
Sighing heavily, Shin moved closer to the bed, close enough, hovering there, before…
… Shin bent down, her face on top of Sabine’s. Almost touching.
Closing her eyes, swallowing hard, Shin closed in the final gap between them.
Her lips on Sabine’s, a soft peck on the tantalising lips… Or that’s what she thought.
As as soon as Shin touched those lips having haunted her dreams, she could not let go, rather depending the kiss.
WTF?
It was one sided at first, but, then, Shin felt it. The response. The pressure against her own lips finally happening. Sabine, was kissing her back! And it felt… great!!!
Could it even be true? Or was Shin dreaming again?
The kiss then got more heated, more passionate, more needy the longer it lasted. The two of them still, enemies(?) kissing each other! Neither relenting. Breaking off? Well this was, unheard of?
The need to breathe finally ending the most passion filled kiss either of them could ever have imagined to having happened. Both of them panting heavily, eyes on each other’s.
“What the…??? You!?!”
“Yeah… heh… about that….”
