Chapter Text
It had been a normal week for them, well, as normal as it can be when the ‘them’ in question are the notorious criminal minds, the bad guys themselves. As such, early in the morning the epic gang of troublemakers was returning home after a not so epic heist.
“Argh what was that?” Mr.Snake yelled as the elevator came to a stop “we looked like a bunch of newbies running around!” He grumbled as he went to the refrigerator and angrily opened the door
“Aw c’mon man” Mr.Shark replied “ It wasn’t that bad” he said trying to boost morale. Everyone went silent as they turned to look at him with a deadpan expression
The silence was broken by Ms.Tarantula, or Webs as they called her, “We were on fire shark…” she groaned from his shoulder “and not the good kind, the literal kind”
Mr.Piranha walked by her with the tip of his ‘hair’ still on fire, he put down the sack of money recently stolen from the city’s bank and used his hand to smother the fire “I haven’t run like that in a while hahahaha!!” He laughed maniacally “We should do it again huh? What do ya say Lobo?” He turned to look at Mr. Wolf, who had been abnormally quiet the whole time, only to find the normally talkative and cunning wolf leaning heavily against their elevator walls panting heavily. “Uh wolf?” He tried to get the man’s attention but only got the other three to look.
Slowly, Snake slithered across the room to stand in front of his best friend, who by now was looking dazed, he stared for a while, the others only looking between the two and waiting.
Then Snake curled the tip of his tail and made it click right at the wolf’s muzzle, finally getting him out of his daze, Wolf blinked a couple times then smartly said “Wh-what?” He looked around as if only now taking in his surroundings.
“What’s up with you man? You’re not looking so good” Shark asked only to be followed by Piranha’s comment “not looking so good? The gran lobo malo looks more like a perrito left in the sun for too long!” He pulled his tongue out and made loud panting noises “HAHAHAE” he clutched his belly. Webs jumped out of sharks shoulder and quickly made her way to Piranha and smacked the back of his head “Ay!” He massaged his head “What? I’m worried too!” He grumbled.
Wolf quickly regained his posture and took a step away from the wall “ Worried?” He repeated “there’s no need to be worried, worried over what? There’s nothing to worry about” he rambled as his left ear ticked and he put his hands under his armpits, in a clear sign of nervousness.
They stared at each other, 4 of them catching on to the obvious weird behavior and Piranha obliviously standing there. “I believe him” he smiled and made his way to the kitchen to start on breakfast, “see? I’m doing good, maybe uh, a bit woozy from the car chase, yeah! That’s it, now if you’ll excuse me” he hurriedly made his way to his room.
…
“Wolf? Woozy because of a car chase? Wolf LOVES car chases!!” Shark looked at Webs
“That was totally not suspicious at all” Webs comments sarcastically “what’s up with him all of a sudden?”
“Ehh, probably hungry or something, I know that I am” Snake grumbled as he turned his eyes from the direction Wolf went, to the kitchen area “And I ain’t sharing!” He quickly slides away to gulp down anything he might get his fangs on. Shark and Webs running after him to guarantee their plates.
Unknown to the others, Wolf was having a hard time in his room, he was nervous. The others didn’t say anything, but he was sure they noticed how sluggish he had been, it was his fault the heist almost went south, his mind wasn’t in the game and the team almost paid the price.
He didn’t know what was wrong with him, since a few days ago he wasn’t half as attentive as normal, his eyes felt heavy and his body tired.
He could only hope that by the end of the day, his body would give up on giving him a hard time and get back to normal already, but for now, his bed seemed to be calling his name and the Wolf couldn’t resist the call any longer, he could smell the sweet scent of pancakes coming from the kitchen as his stomach grumbled in reaction, but right now the sweet call of the bed singed louder then his belly, so, after ever so slowly putting on some comfortable clothes, he flopped down onto the mattress like a sack of potatoes.
