A miscellaneous scene from my imagined rewriting of House MD with my self insert/oc included because unfortunately I need that old man. We moved on from the episode that introduces House's parents way too fast and if I ever actually write that story this arc/ep will be SEVERAL CHAPTERS LONG. His voice is sharp and tart. "Like what?"
"Sinners are all contractually Satanic property," Charlie manages in one short breath. "It's... Hell is my Dad's, right? Well, sinners are basically moving into his backyard- they can talk to the HOA, make deals with neighbors, but he owns the house. And since I'm half-him, it kind of... evens out."
The hellhound is long gone by now. Charlie undoes the chains behind her back- they both ignore the sinners as they jump and flee, screaming. Angel's hand is rubbing his neck nervously.
"Any sinners?" he repeats.
Charlie immediately senses where this is going, and makes sure to meet his eye. "Angel, I would never do that to you. Ever."

Summary
Korvo had been distancing himself from Terry due to his increasingly arrogant behaviour ever since he got promoted. Leaving their relationship slightly strained, although not entirely broken. One day, The device in Terry’s brain activates and Korvo cannot simply leave Terry in that state.
Aka: Terry has a device in his brain that makes him only think about protecting the Pupa and it causes him physical pain if they are apart for too long.
