Work Text:
Sammy sat with his legs crossed, sketching crudely on the pad he held in his lap. He wasn’t the greatest artist sure. But he was trying his best, and his best mostly consisted of redrawing his cousin’s (first) death over and over again until his synthetic hand cramped, blistered, and broke.
When the intercom crackled to life and Circus Baby spoke through it Sammy wanted to pull his fake hair out and set it on fire. He should’ve tazzed her a few times then thrown her back in the damn alley.
“You played right into our hands. Did you really think that this job just fell out of the sky for you? No.” Circus Baby, or Scrap Baby as Sammy had dubbed her due to her well, scrapped appearance.
She was made solely of random garbage held together with nothing but soul glue, or remnant as William called it.
“This was a gift.” Sammy knew this all too well, the powerful villain crumbled under the hands of her abuser.
“What a waste of character, she literally used her own brother, then threw it all away for dear ol’ Daddy.” he scoffed rolling his eyes, resisting the urge to pull the plastic from their sockets and squeeze the unsymmetrical ‘eyes’ until they popped in between his fingers.
“For us. You gathered them all together, in one place.” Scrap Baby continued, she seemed oddly passionate on this topic.
“I can’t blame you, can I? Dad always gets the best of us in the end,” he muttered returning his attention to his sketch, adding every delicate detail to the paper. Once again it fails to embody the pure agony in graphite.
“Just like he asked you to.”
“ Just like he asked you to. ” Sammy echoed the words, finding them humorous, two unstable kids, him and Elizabeth, always bending over backward for whatever ever dear old dad, Henry and William, wanted of them.
“All those little souls, in one place. Just for us.”
A deep sigh escaped Sammy’s throat while the little Helpy bot powered on, he always thought Elizabeth was smarter than that. He’s envied her as a child, sure she’d been beaten but at least she got attention before she died. Nobody ever looked at the sun, no they were always drawn to the moon.
Nobody ever looked at Sammy, they were always drawn to Charlie. Until he died.
“A gift. Now, we can do what we were created to do. And be complete.” Scrap Baby rambled, causing the little white bear to look over at the intercom, before looking at Sammy as if asking for context. Sammy smiled at the bear, offering it his hand and letting it sit on his lap like a metal teddy bear.
“Connection terminated.” somebody new started speaking, still through the intercom system. Sammy wasn’t even surprised who he heard, who would’ve thought his dad was the one behind all this?!
The man just couldn’t give up. He had to play the hero, what a sorry excuse for a father. Sammy scoffed, setting aside his sketch pad, instead fiddling with the soft fur-like fabric on Helpy’s little body.
“I’m sorry to interrupt you Elizabeth, if you still even remember that name.”
“Helpy, do you think he’s a good dad? Somebody who truly cares for his family?” he asked, though he was really just talking to himself, knowing Helpy couldn’t respond, let alone have an opinion on Henry’s horrific parenting.
“But I’m afraid you’ve been misinformed,” Henry added solemnly, while the ancient computer on Sammy’s desk flickered to life; the map of the pizzeria’s ventilation system blinking on the screen.

“Misinformation and lies, the only reason Freddy’s survived the 80s.” Sammy chuckled leaning his head back and staring at the ceiling.
“You are not here to receive a gift, nor have you been called here by the individual you assume, although, you have indeed been called.” the sound of shifting fabric ran through the intercom system, like Henry was adjusting his tie of blazer.
“You think he’s gonna set the place on fire? Extreme heat is the only thing that destroys remnant. He’s probably not stupid enough to not know remnant is what glues a soul to a body, keeping them trapped here.” Helpy only let out some weird humming/whirring noise, probably from his inner fans. He was prone to overheating in breaking due to his small physic.
“You have all been called here, into a labyrinth of sounds and smells, misdirection and misfortune.”
Sammy rolled his eyes at the bad comparison, everyone knows labyrinths are moving mazes, this was a shitty pizzeria built in less than a week. Nothing moved.
“A labyrinth with no exit, a maze with no prize.”
“Give gifts, give life. A prize after death,” he muttered seeing no point in attempting to talk to his father, who obviously hadn’t thought any of this fully through.
“You don’t even realize that you are trapped. Your lust for blood has driven you in endless circles, chasing the cries of children in some unseen chamber, always seeming so near, yet somehow out of reach, but you will never find them.” Henry’s tone seemed to get darker, as Sammy’s office faded out of the map of the pizzeria’s ventilation. The rest of the map looked like some weird box.
“Of course, this sicko modeled his suicide trap after the box where William left his son’s body to rot after the bite. I wonder if his body is still there. I mean it’s been, 46-ish years.” Sammy mutters, frowning at the realization he’d been dead for over 46 years.
“None of you will. This is where your story ends.”
“Dad, I really wish you were right. But you’re far from the first thing on my mind. I have a movie and a date waiting for me tomorrow. Guess I did get to grow up.” He grinned, running a hand through his sloppy red-brown curls.
“And to you, my brave volunteer,” Sammy perks up, turning to face the intercom as this part of Henry’s god-awfully long speech was directed at him.
“who somehow found this job listing not intended for you,”
Sammy grinned, he knew Henry intended this job for Michael. But Michael’s dead, he died at Fazbear Frights in ‘23. He wasn’t coming back this time, he had no remnant to keep him at least partially alive. No robot to control his body and ground him in this plane of existence. This also meant Henry had seen him. His dead son possesses the fucked up body he (Henry) had created in a fucked up form of “fatherly” grief.
“Although there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that’s not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be.”
“But Dad. You never even said a word to me. What if I don’t want to be here? What if I have a family waiting for me once the dust settles? You wouldn’t deprive a little girl of her father? And a man his husband?” Sammy ponders, tapping his chin like he didn’t already know the answer to that. Henry had already deprived a little girl of her father, his little girl. And sure, not a MAN his husband, but his own wife her husband. Sammy moved to a bit more attention as the vents on either side of his had a sheet of metal slam over the openings; closing Sammy in, keeping him trapped.
“I am remaining as well. I am nearby” Sammy wasn’t even paying attention at this point, just laughing like a manic at Henry’s feeble attempt to keep him trapped in his poorly built prison. Sammy was never one to conform to what others wanted, and he wasn’t going to start now.
“This place will not be remembered, and the memory of everything that started this can finally begin to fade away. As the agony of every tragedy should.”
“Wrong again dad, I know a little girl and a little boy who know practically everything about this place. I will not, let this history be repeated, so I will keep it remembered.” a small frown hit Sammy’s face as he saw a drip of his synthetic skin hit his hand, bubbling lightly in the heat, which Sammy hadn’t noticed yet, nor did he really care about. It wouldn’t kill him.
“And to you monsters trapped in the corridors, be still and give up your spirits. They don’t belong to you.”
“Are you trying to talk to me? Are you calling me a monster? You of all people, have the audacity to try to pin anything on me! Give me your worst dad, you’re one of the monsters here too.” Sammy muttered kicking his legs up and perching them atop his ancient computer. Something unfit for 2026, but operational nonetheless.
“For most of you, I believe there is peace and perhaps more waiting for you after the smoke clears.” Henry paused, once again fumbling with his clothes and hitting his microphone while doing so. “Although, for one of you, the darkest pit of hell has opened to swallow you whole, so don’t keep the devil waiting old friend.”
“William I’m assuming, yes I’m sure Hell is open for him. But tell me Father, where is the moon without the sun and the stars? He was loved but you were the light he reflected, and Elizabeth was never seen without him. You can’t put William in hell without putting you and Elizabeth with him.” he sighed, carefully pulling Helpy behind the cover of his fireproof jacket keeping the little bear from melting away with the rest of Freddy’s.
“My daughter, if you can hear me, I knew you would return as well. It’s in your nature to protect the innocent. I’m sorry that on that day, the day you were shut out and left to die, no one was there to lift you up into their arms the way you lifted others into yours, and then, what became of you. I should have known you wouldn’t be content to disappear, not my daughter. I couldn’t save you then, so let me save you now.”
Sammy sighed before his body betrayed him and fell into its human programming. He began hacking and coughing on the smoke pulling the little robot closer as I struggled to his feet. Synthetic skin melted off his metal interior as he struggled towards the thinner part of the plaster he was sure to install in his first couple of days with the pizzeria specifically after finding no door leading into the office.
“It’s time to rest - for you, and for those you have carried in your arms.” Henry seemed to be crying, his voice breaking as he spoke taking deep shuddery breaths as he did so. But Sammy didn’t care. This man had trapped him in this prison, forcing him away and into a death amid the worst blaze of glory ever attempted.
“This ends for all of us. End communication.”
As Sammy continued to hack and cough while his body sent him an illusion of smoke burning his lungs, he clawed at his torso, peeling away the fake skin and muscle. Glaring through the warm red “blood” pouring from the clawing and dripping onto the floor and boiling in Sammy’s hands; his hand eventually made contact with the fake lungs fixed in his chest and ripped at them, intending to tear the organ out of his body.
Sammy eventually got a firm grip on the heaving silicone, ripping it away from his metal bone with fake pain that still made his insides burn and forced his vocal cords to let out a scream of pain.
But Sammy had no reaction other than the one forced out of him due to coding. As his skin continued to drip away he dropped the sylicon savoring the sick wet sound he heard when his shoe made contact with the lungs.
Sammy beat the plaster away before his fist broke through with a sick crunch of not only the wall but his fingers. He pushed his way through and staggered through the building. He glared at the cheap animatronics that adorned his pizzeria before pulling his jacket closer to his body and pulling the hood up, letting Helpy settle his little body in the gore that was his torso before pushing through the front door, leaving Freddy’s behind as he staggered into his car. sending a quick text to Oliver and driving to Henry’s house.
Sammy pauses in front of the daycare door, crouching down and resting on the balls of his feet in front of Cassie, “CasCas, you want to say bye to Papi before we go in?” he asks with a small smile while brushing her little curls away from her eyes.
Cassie nods happily, reaching up with little grabby hands, asking nonverbally to be picked up. Sammy nodded, pulling the girl into his arms before standing up carefully.
“Say bye to Papi Cassie!” Sammy smiles, turning towards Oliver as he holds Cassie up.
“Bye Papi!” Cassie smiles, showing the gap in her smile where she’s missing a tooth.
Oliver smiles, gently ruffling Cassie’s hair and softly kissing her forehead, “Bye Button, I’ll see you after daycare.” he smiles before moving his hand to ruffle Sammy’s hair as well.
“Tell Jeremy I’ll be up in a bit.” Sammy sighs before shaking away from Oliver’s hand and walking into the daycare.
Sammy set Cassie down and held his hand out to her. Gently wrapping his fingers around hers and walking her toward his coworker.
“Hey, Sam! Good to see you and Cassie again!” Alexandra smiles, a hand resting on her hip as she carefully smoothed out the light blue of her uniform.
“Has anyone introduced you to the new daycare attendant?” she asks, leaning her head toward the lanky yellow sun animatronic.
“Not yet, I thought Cameron said they weren’t ready yet?” Sammy asks, glancing over at the sun and then back at Alexandria.
“Nah, they got the kinks worked out and Sundrop is up and running perfectly!” Alex smiles, before calling Sundrop over with a big grin.
Their face was a bit uncanny and reminded Sammy too much of the puppet from his younger days. Especially with the unmoving grin plastered on the mask, but the ribbons and bells on their wrists and ankles, and the yellow and orange tones and soft spikes protruding from their mask. They weren’t too much like the puppet and were definitely designed to look like a bubbly sun.
“Sunny this is Cassie, and her dad, Sammy. They’ll be here quite a bit as Sammy works in the building.” Alexandra explained to the sun, gesturing towards Cassie and Sammy as she spoke.
Sammy immediately recognized a familiar aura around the sun, one that shone too brightly to be anyone but his twin sister…
“Hello, I’m Sammy Emily, this is my daughter Cassie Brooks!” Sammy smiles, holding his hand out to
his sister,
the animatronic.
