Christmas Tree

Summary:

The Oak family decorates their christmas tree.

Work Text:

"Kids, help us with the tree!" Lio called out from the front door as he and Song tried to push the newly cut down christmas tree into the house.

Their three children came rushing down the stairs. They had been waiting all day for Song and Lio to grab a tree. With all of the decorations already up, it was only a matte lf time before they'd have to get a tree as well.

And that day was the day.

Kipo used her jaguar abilities to carry the tree into the livingroom. A carpet was already in place to catch all of the needles when they fell from the branches of the tree.

"Ooh, I'm so excited to decorate it! We didn't have christmas trees in our burrow", Kipo pointed out happily.

Lio chuckled.

"I know. I'm looking forward to see what you guys will put in the tree. Your mom and I went to get a few ornaments before", Lio answered and Kipo jumped up and down in excitement.

Song carried a big box, filled with stuff to decorate the tree with. She put it down on the floor for the children to look through, and they quickly did so. The ornaments were colorful and glittery. They were screaming christmas.

"If I decorate the top with mom and dad, you and Wolf can decorate the bottom", Benson suggested and everyone agreed.

They started to pick what ornaments would go where. Christmas music was playing in the background, creating the vibe as the family enjoyed the silence and being in each other's presence. Lio and Song were humming along to the music and Kipo was swaying from side to side.

Benson was nodding his head to the music as he put up the ornaments in the tree, silently wondering what Troy was doing at that exact moment. They should be going on another date soon. Wolf was mostly focusing on decorating the tree, smiling every once in a while when one of her family members would do something silly.

She liked this new family tradition. She was already lookikg forward to doing the same thing next year.

In the end, all that was missing was the star at the top.

"Kipo, do you want to put it on the top?" Lio suggested, holding up a golden star.

She had saved Las Vistas after all. It was only right that she would get to be the one to put the star at the top of the christmas tree. She deserved it.

"It would be an honor!" Kipo replied, bowing playfully before taking the star.

Lio assisted her, as she was too short to reach the very top of the tree. Eventually, she managed and the rest of her family cheered. Song turned on the christmas lights that were wrapped around the tree. It turned out to be beautiful. There were colors everywhere, as all as lots of glitter and shiny ornaments. It was the most perfect christmas tree that could have never been done.

Kipo wrapped her arms around her family, smiling as they enjoyed the view. Decorating a christmas tree was one of the best ways of spending time with her family.
