Summary
John Dory was perfect. Just like his mom said before she left. Just like Dad said before their fight. Just like Grandma said before she started forgetting things. Just like his brothers said before the band got big.
His family was perfect. Everything was perfect. Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! It had to be perfect or else everything would fall apart. If he wasn't perfect, then he could be anything. Anything was dangerous. Anything could be gray."Hey, John... when exactly did you return to the tree?" Branch asked as he looked at some old pictures of Brozone. In the corner of his eye he thought he saw his brother deflate but when he looked directly at John his chest was puffed up like normal.
"A few months after your fifth birthday. Had a present too, but I lost it when I went through Bergen Town," John Dory answered.
"Why didn't you come back sooner," Branch asked. Branch was ready for the answer. Something about how John was exploring and lost track of time. He wasn't ready for John Dory to suddenly dim in color as he fussed with his glove. Then John smiled and his colors were back.
Branch would get to the bottom of this.Series
