I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Summary:

By November, Kakyoin already had everyone's gifts prepared. Holly was getting an antique jewelry box that she had mentioned back in April along with a heartfelt note. Mr. and Mrs. Joestar were getting an expensive spa day at a gorgeous resort where they would be able to relax with each other. Josuke was getting a pair of loafers made with fine Italian leather and a cashmere sweater.

Jolyne was getting a myriad of expensive toys and clothes from Santa and Mommy and Daddy. Despite his love of Christmas shopping and gift-giving, Kakyoin worried they might spoil her. However, Jotaro wouldn’t have it any other way. He would give their little girl the world if he could.

Kakyoin only had one more person left to shop for, and he was completely at his wit's end.

Jotaro.

Day 8: Winter Solstice, Christmas Shopping

Work Text:

Kakyoin took giving gifts extremely seriously. Christmas shopping was a year-round event for him.

He took pride in his gift-giving abilities. Only Holly rivaled him in his gift-giving prowess.

By November, Kakyoin already had everyone's gifts prepared. Holly was getting an antique jewelry box that she had mentioned back in April, along with a heartfelt note. Mr. and Mrs. Joestar were getting an expensive spa day at a gorgeous resort where they could relax with each other.

Jotaro.

The man was impossible to shop for. What could Kakyoin possibly get the man?

Kakyoin couldn’t get him clothes. Jotaro shopped for his own wardrobe and many of the items he chose were things that Kakyoin couldn’t have ever guessed he would wear.

Kakyoin couldn’t get him expensive alcohol, cigarettes, or cigars. Jotaro had been completely uninterested in any of his previous vices ever since Jolyne had been born.

Kakyoin wracked his brain for any books Jotaro might be interested in. The only books Kakyoin had seen him read as of late were giant oceanography textbooks with the smallest print on Earth. Reading was much of Jotaro’s work. Kakyoin doubted he had any bandwidth to read after a long day of research.

An expensive watch? A nice belt? A shaving kit? Kakyoin wracked his brain for ideas but nothing felt right.

He was losing hope. December was rapidly approaching, and he was still clueless about what Jotaro wanted.

What did that say about Kakyoin, that he didn’t know what to get the love of his life for Christmas? His pride at being a great Christmas shopper was ruined.

His desperation led him to do something he never did but he was out of options. Desperate times called for desperate measures.

Jotaro came into their bedroom with a deep sigh. Jolyne had been going through a phase where she refused to settle into bed and instead preferred jumping on the bed for several minutes until she finally tired herself out. Judging from the exhausted look on Jotaro’s face, it must have taken Jolyne quite a while to be satisfied enough to lay down.

Jotaro stripped out of his clothes and crawled into bed, as was routine for them. He settled with a groan. Kakyoin had been drying his hair after his evening shower. He was already in pajamas; a satin blue set that he knew Jotaro liked.

Kakyoin slid into bed next to Jotaro. He shuffled his way next to him and wrapped his leg over his hip. He laid several gentle kisses over Jotaro’s shoulder.

Jotaro, clearly interested, turned from his back onto his side to face Kakyoin and kissed him on the mouth.

Before things could go too far, Kakyoin stopped him. He pulled back and ran his fingers through Jotaro’s hair.

“Hey,” he asked. “What do you want for Christmas?”

Jotaro blinked at him. “I don’t know."

"You don't know?"

"I don’t really want anything.”

A beat of silence came between them before Kakyoin groaned.

“Ugh!” He growled in frustration. He flipped over to face away from Jotaro. “Forget you, then! You’re impossible to shop for!”

Jotaro scooted towards him and wrapped his arms around him. Kakyoin reluctantly allowed him to spoon him.

“You don’t need to buy me anything,” Jotaro murmured to him.

Kakyoin pouted. “I want to give you something but it’s so hard when you buy everything for yourself. Isn’t there anything I can give you that you haven’t bought?”

Jotaro nuzzled into the back of his head. “There is one thing,” he said.

“If you’re going to say anything kinky, you can save it. I'm not in the mood,” Kakyoin threatened.

Jotaro squeezed Kakyoin, pulling him closer. “It’s not that,” he said.

“Well, spit it out,” Kakyoin said impatiently. “Shopping only gets harder the closer Christmas is.”

Jotaro nuzzled Kakyoin again. “I want Jolyne to have a younger sibling.”

Kakyoin froze. He turned over to face Jotaro. “You want another baby?” He gasped.

Jotaro nodded.

Kakyoin’s mind raced. He thought Jotaro had his hands full with Jolyne. He didn’t pick up on Jotaro wanting more kids at all. Jolyne was already more than enough for both of them.

But it wasn’t a bad idea. Jolyne was growing up. She was in school now and doing very well. Jotaro was wrapping up his PhD. Kakyoin did some work with the Speedwagon Foundation but his family always came first.

Another baby. The more he thought about it, the more the idea warmed up on him.

“Well, if you wanted one by Christmas, you should have put it on your Christmas list at least a year ago. It’s a little late to ask in November,” Kakyoin teased.

Jotaro kissed him. Kakyoin could tell by his touch that he was elated.

“I’ll accept a positive test,” he stated as once they parted.

Kakyoin laughed. “That’s more doable but there’s no way I can guarantee anything.”

Jotaro kissed him on the forehead. “You were pregnant with Jolyne in as little as two weeks,” he stated proudly.

Kakyoin lightly slapped him on the shoulder. “Two weeks from our wedding night. We have no way of knowing if that’s when she was conceived because someone couldn’t keep his hands to himself before our wedding.”

Jotaro had a smug grin on his face. Kakyoin kissed it off.

“It’s already November. We have a lot of work to do before Christmas,” he murmured against Jotaro’s skin. Jotaro hummed in agreement as he rolled them over.

Christmas morning arrived before they knew it. They had already visited with friends and relatives in a whirlwind of events. Kakyoin was relieved to have Christmas morning with only Jotaro and Jolyne.

They all wore flannel pajamas and sat around the tree; Jolyne on the floor while Jotaro and Kakyoin snuggled on the couch and drank coffee. Jolyne opened her presents from Santa and exclaimed with joy every time she saw what new toy she received. Kakyoin’s heart felt extremely full as he watched her face light up. He snuggled further into Jotaro’s side. He could tell that his husband was very content as well. Spoiling Jolyne was one of his favorite things to do.

While Jolyne was distracted by her new Barbie dream house, Kakyoin pulled out a smaller box he hid in between the couch cushions and discreetly nudged Jotaro with it.

Jotaro hesitantly took the box from his hands. It was narrow and rectangular in length, no more than 10 inches long. Without a word, he pulled at the ribbon around it, gently undoing the bow Kakyoin had tied early that morning.

He opened the box to reveal a pregnancy test. Two pink lines were proudly on display.

Kakyoin was pregnant.

Jotaro pulled him into a hug, then a kiss.

“You’ve outdone yourself this year,” he whispered to Kakyoin.

Kakyoin laughed. It was a little wetter than he anticipated. Jotaro wiped tears from his eyes.

“I always put together the best gifts,” Kakyoin proudly claimed. Jotaro kissed him again. He seemed to vehemently agree
