Work Text:

Gwen was gently snuggled up against Miles, still awake. For some reason, she couldn’t fall asleep. She was a bit tired, but not tired enough to fall asleep. She stayed quiet, hoping she would fall asleep eventually. She thought Miles had fallen asleep already, until he spoke up. “Gwen, I can tell you’re still awake.”

“I thought you were asleep.” Gwen whispered. “That’s not important. Why aren’t you asleep yet?” Miles asked, starting to play with Gwen’s hair. “Could be asking you the same thing.” She replied. “I just can’t fall asleep, nothing to worry about.” Usually when Gwen couldn’t sleep, something was keeping her up. Stuff like nightmares and thoughts about Peter would keep her up at night, but that wasn’t the case today.

“Something is keeping you up, real or not real ?” Miles spoke softly. Gwen knew what this was, so she didn’t hesitate to reply. “Not real, surprisingly.” Then it was her turn to ask something. “You still draw me sometimes, real or not real?”

“Real.” Gwen smiled thinking about that. “And you still write songs about me, real or not real?”

“Real.” Gwen responded, still keeping herself close to Miles. After a bit of asking each other questions like this, Gwen started to feel sleepy. “You’re getting sleepy, real or not real?” Miles asked, noticing Gwen was starting to get tired again. “Not real.” Miles kissed her forehead in response. “You’re pretty much falling asleep.”

Before Gwen could reply, she was pretty much already asleep.
