Work Text:

Laughter and giggles were heard all around as Yuuji pretended to chase Sachiko in the garden much to the enjoyment of the three year old.  Nobara and Megumi smiled at the adorable sight of the two of them having a blast during the kid's playtime.

"They Are Getting along really well. I am afraid Itadori will snatch the title of 'The best uncle'  from Yuuta after some time." Megumi said with a chuckle, busy tending to his garden.

"When did you start to have such a green thumb? I never knew you were fond of plants." Megumi smiled at her question, putting down the water can, he gestured to her to pass the fertiliser to him.

"Since my pregnancy. I was bored at home. So, I started gardening to invest my time into something."

" I see. So, what now? Will you ever return to the jujutsu world?Or will you remain as a housewife? Not that there's anything wrong with it but I am just curious." Nobara looked at Megumi apprehensively , who seemed to freeze at her question. Megumi sighed and dusted his hands off,

"I have not been in the field for a while now. So it's safe to say that my skills are not as sharp as they used to be. So, there is no pint of me returning to the jujutsu world anymore. And there is one more problem as well." Megumi hesitated at the end of his sentence, which did not go unnoticed by Nobara.

"And may I ask what the problem is now?" Megumi sighed. He should have never let it slip. There was no escape from Nobara and her inquiry now.

"I-"

"My students and my dear family, how are you all?" Nobara sighed as the eccentric man who also happened to be her teacher showed up in the garden out of thin air with a crack. A large hole formed in the place he teleported . So, she hoped Megumi would chew him out for it later.

"Daddy!!!" Childish giggles filled the atmosphere as Sachilko ran to her father in full speed, throwing her whole weight at him who caught her with ease.

"My sweet girl! How have you been today? Were you  good ?" He asked in mock seriousness, looking at Megumi mischievously who only rolled his  eyes with a fond smile at their display.

"I have been! Ask papa! I have been a very good girl today. Finished my vegetables without any complaints. Daddy, can I get chocolates now?" Sachiko put on her best innocent expression in the hope of melting her father's heart but Gojo was already his daughter's fool. She  didn't really have to try with him.

"Of course, Sachu chan! Since you have been such a good girl, you deserve to be rewarded. "

"Satoru! She has had way too many chocolates since yesterday. She will suffer from cavities if she keeps having chocolates at this rate." Megumi chided his husband for his lack of strictness. Yuuji and Nobara watching this all go down with an amused smile.

"But.. I am sorry, Sachu chan. Papa makes the rules. But you can convince your Papa if you….."  And so the mischief continued. Gojo whispering different tricks and ploys to get Megumi to give in to their demands. Sachiko giggled as her father encouraged her brattyness.

Megumi sighed at the troublesome father-daughter duo and returned to his work.

"It seems like you always have your hands full with them."

"Don't even joke about it, Kugisaki. Sach needs to understand she can't have everything she asks for all the time. I know, chocolates are not a big deal but Satoru spoils her so much all the time. He is very lenient with her. Besides, too much sugar intake is not even good for health. Just because he survived, doesn't mean I am taking any chance with my daughter,  " Nobara chuckled at his sombre tone. He was right. Gojo at the very least seemed very besotted with his family which she wouldn't deny relieved her greatly of all the doubts still scattered in her mind.

"How have you been, Nobara?" Nobara looked over to Gojo standing in front of her with an unreadable expression on her face. Megumi was gone to attend to his kitchen, Yuuji excused himself to take a phone call and Sachiko off to the house to impress her father. Only the two of them were present in the garden. She didn't quite interact with him after all the wedding drama nor did she want to. Maybe, Megumi told him everything.

"Fine, sensei. Why do you ask?" Nobara tried to behave normally, and maintain a facade.

"No, it's that … you seem kind of distant." Hesitation was evident in Gojo's voice as he eyed her suspiciously. Nobara sighed as she was busted, shrugging as if that was a proper explanation. But,nothing really struck her mind then.

"So, I hope we can leave all the misunderstandings behind and -"

"Fushiguro told you everything, didn't he? Of course he did. I am not surprised in the least." Nobara's bitterness was visible in her tone and approach. Gojo chuckled at her rude interruption, surprising Nobara with his nonchalance.

" You know there was a time I used to believe everyone in the school had a thing for Megumi, especially you two. Megumi was so upset when I revealed it to him, claiming you two were his best of friends, always had his best interests at heart, that it was nothing like what i was thinking. But now , I am not quite sure about that. You seem to be very in love with him. " Gojo tched like the asshole he was.

"Just because I am worried about him, doesn't mean I am in love with him. He is my best  friend, very vulnerable and gullible . And you are exactly not a saint either. So, you can't act surprised about my suspicions." Nobara paused her furious rant to catch her breath and glared at the man in front of her. He had his lips in a thin line and blindfold on his eyes, yet Nobara could still feel the icy glare beneath the piece of cloth.

"Do you have nothing to say now? Did you finally come to your senses about your immorality?" Gojo let out a snicker, enraging Nobara even more. He shook his head like a disappointed parent with that smirk of his.

"Yo-"

"Nobara, if you think me coming to my senses means me leaving Megumi then, I am sorry to say that but your dream will never come true. Regardless of what you think about me, I love Megumi and our family. He is my everything, he gave me my everything. Megumi,Sachiko, they are my lifelines,so don't even think that I will ever walk away from them." Gojo spoke with an air of seriousness around him, meaning every single word, shocking Nobara with his hostile approach. His words littered with gravity and honesty. Nobara didn't know how she felt about this.

"I didn't ask you to leave Fushiguro. Damage is already done. He is happy after a long time. I would never take that away from him but only if you promise to never hurt him, sensei." She couldn't do that to her friend. She is not that brave. To see him watch his whole world crumble right in front of his eyes, that's  a sight she could never bear.

"I love him! I would never hurt him." He sighed before continuing,

"Nobara, I know you are just looking out for your friend. You are one of my precious student's too. I apologise if I came off as hostile to you. I just don't like when anyone tries to create a distance between Megumi and me…." The last part sounded like a threat and she knew it was a threat. Gojo smiled too wide and she could tell his eyes were still fixated on a glare at her.
