SMG3 furrowed his eyebrows together as he stared off into space. He sat beside SMG4 in the RV, attempting to ignore all the commotion that was occurring right behind him. Mario and Meggy were having their usual sibling-like arguments, Boopkins was failing to stop Bob from pulling out multiple illegal weapons, and Tari was simply kicking her feet while cuddling her toy duck. Panning back to the two up front, Three started to protest.
“Okay, explain to me again why we must go rollerskating? I mean, it’s not even that fun, I would know of course. I’ve done it at least a hundred times.” he muttered, arms crossed.
SMG4 rolled his eyes, pausing at a stop light. Turning to face the other, he leaned into his palm. “I know you’re just complaining 'cause you’re ass at skating. Plus everyone else was down, I’m not going to deny them this since you have a stick up your ass.”
“WHA- I do not .”
Mario stuck his head into the cockpit, pointing his index finger up. He was ready to make his usual stupid comment before SMG3 quickly slammed his fist right into his face. He slowly slid back out as the third meme guardian gave him a death glare. SMG4 giggled at the interaction, then focused back on the road. Soon, they pulled into the parking lot of the roller rink. They all slowly departed the vehicle, Four leading them in and paying for the entrance fees and skates.
Once in, SMG3 snickered, pulling out an Eggdog from his back pocket. Placing down his skates provided by SMG4, he helped tie them onto the meme. The dog was sent off, first wary of the new environment, but eventually started doing spins and flips not humanly possible. Three’s eyes doubled in size, pulling out his phone to forever immortalize the moment. Looking into his phone, he noticed a blue-hatted fellow leaning into the frame, covering his beautiful son. SMG3 pulled down his phone, huffing at the other man. “Hey! You’re in the way of Eggdog!”
“Oops, sorry,” SMG4 said in a tone that was very obviously not sorry. He slid out of the way and next to Three, gazing over his shoulder at his phone. He smirked. “Didn’t know that even a meme like Eggdog could skate better than you. Kinda embarrassing.”
SMG3 immediately glanced over at the man, almost growling. "Oi! That's my son remember? Like father, like son. He learned all of that from me!"
"Mhmmm. Uh huh. Yeah. Okay. Suree. Whatever, man," Four blabbered, placing a hand onto SMG3's shoulder, who instantly jumped at the touch, slipping away.
"All right idiot, what are you trying to get at here? Or are you just being annoying for no reason?" he turned his body to face his doppelganger, holding eye contact.
SMG4's bland facial expression was quick to switch to one of excitement. He positioned his hands at his hips, grinning as wide as possible. "Well, I'm glad you asked! As a professional rollerskater, I am offering you MY help to teach you how to ska—"
"No." SMG3 stared blankly. Eyes pulled away, he watched as Eggdog skated out of the rink and into his arms. After a few well-deserved pats, he helped his son out of the shoes. He felt daggers in the back of his neck though, and as he flipped around he saw a pitiful look on Four's face. He pouted, eyes wide and shiny. Three's heart panged, causing him to hit his chest. He cleared his throat. "You just look like a loser doing that. Hey. Stop ."
A frown dressed SMG4's lips. As he began to whine, a light bulb went off above his head. He skated in closer to Three, bending over and bringing his face closer to the other's. "Okay, how about this? This can be an errand for the cafe, you feel? I'm working for you like usual. Hmmm?"
It was dumb, SMG3 wouldn't usually fall for this. But he couldn't focus with a certain someone's face all up in his. He took a breath, trying to calm down the heart practically beating out of his chest. "FINE! Yeah, that sounds good mhm yep— just back up, okay, man."
Another giggle came from Four, sliding backwards and giving Three some space. SMG3 sighed, sitting down and slipping on the skates that were originally on Eggdog. He lifted his head and watched as SMG4 dropped into the rink, doing a twirl and stopping in front of him. He scowled.
"Once again, just so I'm making myself clear, I don't need help . I know what I'm doing—" He kicked his feet out into the rink. He attempted to stand up, but immediately fell forward and onto his face. "—SHIIT!"
"Wow, you're really good."
"SHUT IT!"
Hands extended, SMG4 smiled at the one on the floor. Three bit his lip. Letting his guard down for just a moment, he grabbed onto the other's hand. Pulling, he was able to make it up. SMG3 pumped his fists into the air, stopping as he noticed Four chuckle.
"So, just how much do you know about skating?"
SMG3 kept his eyes on his skates, arms out. "Um. Everything."
"You can stop lying now, bro."
"I'm not!" he shouted before slipping and falling again. He thought his nose would be bleeding by now but felt slight relief when the slippery floor was still its pale brown colour. This time he grabbed onto the wall for support.
"Use your stopper to push yourself!" SMG4 mentioned, then went off as an example. Three watched as Four went around the rink, his foot movement memorizing almost. Once he came back around, SMG3 pretended to have not been watching him. He gripped onto the wall, straightening his knees. SMG4 came up from behind him, slapping his shoulder. "Dude, relax a bit!" SMG3 fell from the slap. "Oops."
"You are NOT helping at all!" Three struggled to get up as his face appeared to become red.
SMG4 raised a brow, hands on his knees while waiting for the other to get back on his feet. "What, I thought you didn't want me to help?"
SMG3 grimaced. He got up and faced the opposite direction as Four. He was getting tired already, he could feel the eyebags forming. "Fine, whatever."
Pausing, SMG4's stomach turned. He rolled over to the frozen man and slipped his hands into Three's. SMG3's face was full of confusion, but it quickly warmed up. They both wore grins. Four tugged a bit on the other's fingers. "Okay, let's try this. I'll pull you like this, yeah? Just make sure you keep your legs from running into each other or splitting apart too far. Simple?"
"I… suppose." SMG3 felt his face heat up, but shook it off.
"Good! I'll move slowly. You got this." He began to pull him, watching the other patiently. SMG3 kept his own eyes downwards, trying to keep his feet as straight as possible. "Hey, remember what I said! Loosen up, bend your knees a little, all right?"
Despite getting slightly annoyed by all the unasked-for advice, he also felt grateful that he didn't have to awkwardly ask for it himself. "Mhm.."
He was moving. He was rollerskating and not falling. SMG3’s stomach was full of butterflies. he was all giddy and for such a dumb reason he would call it. He made an effort to look up and forward but would drop his head once more when he noticed blue eyes staring at him. Oh, how bad he wanted to cover his face, but couldn’t due to his hands being quite occupied. After a while of being dragged along, SMG4 spoke up. “Hey, I’m going to let go now, okay?” His hands steadily began to slip out of Three’s.
However, the moment of independence would be brief, as SMG3, within an instant, would interlock their fingers, clasping on for dear life as to not fall once more. His voice was shaky. “OKAY WAIT. I’m not… ready to let go yet. Um, fuck.”
SMG4’s heart was pounding in his chest, vibrating throughout his whole body. “Um… Yeah! No problem dude, haha,” he managed to get out despite how distracted he was by the loud beating in his head. While trying to pull himself together, he felt the wind of someone speeding by behind him, resulting in him tripping over himself. Letting go of Three, he was now on the cold floor. Four scratched the back of his head, hearing a malicious laugh echo in the rink.
“HAHA! Now look who needs my help!” Three called out, wobbling over at a slow pace. Offering his hand, he peered down at the other. “You’re welcome, of course.”
Four was taking none of it. He lifted his hand, but instead of allowing himself to be pulled up, he pulled the other down with him. Three fell very dramatically, knocking SMG4 down even further. Now, they were knotted together. Three had his legs intertwined with the other meme guardian’s, his hands tangled in Four’s hair, their eyes aligned. They were both out of breath.
SMG3 shot back, sliding on the floor. “WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU WHATTTT??”
“OKAY I DIDN’T KNOW YOUR CLUMSY ASS WOULD FALL ON TOP OF ME?????”
“WELL! YOU’RE AN IDIOT!!!!!!”
They bantered whilst taking up an unreasonable amount of space on the rink’s flooring. Once they got a few complaints, Four got up and Three sat and waited in shame to be helped up by the other man. Once they were both back on their feet, SMG3 shoved SMG4 away, almost slipping himself.
“Okay, I got this. I’ll try to…” Three mumbled to himself, legs weak. Knees bent and shoulder-width apart, he attempted to push forward. He wobbled to an extent, but he was moving! He let out a hearty chuckle, turning his head to smile at the other. Four skated over, hand in the air to offer a high-five. SMG3 attempted to spin around, instead falling on his ass. This time, they both laughed.
After another hour of skating and knocking out, they both shared a table off to the side of the rink. They both shared a drink; the drink was known as “death” due to being a mix of all the drinks the skating place had to offer. The rest of the time they had left there was spent with just Three complaining about the fact the drink did not taste like death at all. Four called him an emo as a result.
“Ah, it’s about time we head out. I’ll go round up the rest of the crew, you go ahead and start the RV,” SMG4 checked his phone, eyes then landing on the other. SMG3 nodded. As the blue man got ready to stand up, he paused when he felt a hand on his wrist.
“Um… I just wanted to…” The comical pink blush png began to grow on his face, pulling his arm away and crossing them. “Thank you for helping me, I guess. Baka…”
Four snickered into his hand, giving the other a coy smile. “Of course, Three.”
“DON’T SAY IT LIKE THAT!!”
“BRO LIKE WHAT???”
The camera zooms out to show Meggy and Mario staring at the two, then turning to face the other. They both shared the same thought. “These bitches gay. Good for them.”
