Chapter Text

[ The past trolls are set right after the snack pack sings Move your Feet and Branch storming off after telling Poppy “He can not belive Poppy was going to be queen one day, leaving her very heartbroken. ]

In a large completely empty room, came a poof of dust that appeared out of the blue. And just like that, the room was empty no longer.

A bunch of screams can be heard as the following trolls appeared out of thin air:

Poppy, Smidge, Biggie, Guy Diamond, Cooper, Satin, Chenille and Branch.

On one side of the living room was a large glass wall that contained Bridget and King Gristle.

When the trolls finally gathered to their senses, they looked around in worry, unfamiliar to this new environment. Their plain confusion swiftly turns to overwhelming dread in mere moments when they have spotted the two Bergens nearby. Smidge looked like she was seconds away from screaming and running in circles but Guy Diamond beat her to that. His loud autotuned wail promptly kickstarted up the crazed frenzy of panic screams among all the trolls. 

Among the panic, Poppy noticed a small piece of paper conveniently nearby her. Upon skimming it, she pulled out the cowbell in her hair to get every troll’s attention. Successfully gaining that immediately, Poppy presents her new discovery and reads the found note outloud

Dear Fellow Trolls,

Each Troll has been called upon here to be given a special gift, the knowledge of the future. There are 2 Bergens nearby who are here also for this gift, but do not fret, they are separated from you all with an enclosed glass wall. The showing of the future which is 2 years from now in your timeline, will be presented to you in small clips then a movie. There are bean bags spread throughout the room and plenty of snacks. Find a comfortable seat, Be nice to each other, If everyone is finally seated the clip will inevitably begin.

“The future?!” Biggie exclaims  

“Mew”

“Oh my guh!! I always wanted to know about the future!”

“Am I the only one worried about the huge time paradox this could cause?!” Branch shrieked but nobody heard him since they were all talking too loud in excitement.

From the other side of the glass wall, Gristle has already helped themselves to the snack table. He did think about trying to break out since the trolls were just right there, a bergens one key to happiness but he can't just ignore the FREE movie experience AND the abundance of food that were just right there! After the screening I'll get the trolls, he thinks to himself. He jumps back to his beanbag and sets himself in a very relaxed position.

Next to Gristle, Bridget glances at the king, noting that he was just a couple inches away from her. She was entirely silent and still, Was this a dream? She could not believe she was actually in a room stuck with King Gristle, and it's just the two of them, alone!! Well not entirely alone, there seems to be trolls on the other side but they aren't really that important to her. 

“What’s up?” he suddenly spoke up. Bridget’s train of thought broke and did not know how to respond, she let out a small  “huh?”

“Is there something on my face?” He speaks out in concern 

Bridget’s face heats up. 

“Oh!! What?? No. I mean! Yes! But, you already got it! You did it! Haha- you don't need to worry about it. Your face is fine, you're fine. I mean you're ok. A-okay ! “ She sputters out 

“Oh, thanks!” He gave her a small smile and continued back to eating his doritos. 

Poppy returns to her bean bag with loads of snacks, her friends bustle with excitement and talk amongst themselves , during this, she notices a vacant blue bean bag that was placed right next to her. There’s supposed to be another troll here?

She scans the room and spots Branch hiding near a dark spot of the room.  Poppy recounts their last interaction, wondering what she could have done better. That’s when she remembered the expression he wore on his face when that hug time had happened. She finally realized that she had been tackling Branch like he was any other troll , but he was not any other troll. She realizes all of her previous same attempts she made only made him more sadder and uncomfortable. Maybe she had been doing this all wrong and should try a different approach. 

Branch tensed when he saw Poppy headed towards him. Was he not in the shadows enough? There weren't really many options to hide in the particular spot he was in so he eventually resorted to hiding in his hair. His hair was black, perfect for blending in the shadows, she's not gonna notice him haha.

“Branch..?” He heard a quiet murmur.

A couple of seconds of silence passed, but to him felt like hours.

“ I'm gonna leave your bean bag here, you don't have to sit with us if you don't want to, okay?” Poppy tells him

He heard the patter of her steps, and just like that she was gone. His hair slowly unwraps around him and he nears his blue bean bag. Atop the bean bag, he spots that it contained a mound of snacks. Did she get that for me too? He wonders. Branch took a glance over to Poppy, she was bearing the cutest smile that he had ever seen. Whatever, She didn’t have to do that for me anyway. I could have gotten it myself, she's so dumb. He pushes the snacks out of his beanbag and finally sits.

As everyone is finally seated, the screen blinks on and a few words fades in view, showing :

“Gristle and Bridget’s Future ( The Bergens) “

“Oh come on! Why them first?” Smidge whined

Bridget darts her eyes to Gristle and back to the screen, her mind stuck on the word “and” that presented itself on the screen. The screen could have shown them individually but no, they were grouped together to show their future . She does not want to get her hopes up, but it is rising up as she wonders at the possibility this implies. 

I wonder who Bridget is.. Gristle thought out. He takes a quick glance at the random bergen that was stuck with him. Is she Bridget?

* The clip begins and shows King Gristle completely in awe with the duck Bib and the shop owner exclaims “ Oh your majesty, look at you! Such a big big boy now!“ the guards around him all simultaneously clap at the sight.

“Wow! I can't wait to receive that in the future! But wait, why am I buying that though, is there a special occasion ..?” Gristles asks out loud

“ I think you look fat”

All the trolls gasped just as the bergens did on screen 

Wait, was that… Bridget wonders

“What. “ 

*They all turn around and it reveals the voice coming from a certain purple bergen

Bridget gapes at the screen in horror. Is that really her?  Why would she say something like that? She would never ever say that!

“PH fat then strike a pose!” Poppy whispers to Bridget inside her hair

The SnackPack all snap their heads at Poppy’s direction “Poppy! You’re helping a bergen?!” They scream in horror.

“Don't tell me that-“ Guy Diamond starts.

Biggie cuts him off before he finishes of their thought, “Guys. I'm sure Poppy has her reasons why she's helping her. Let's just keep watching the clip.” 

Satin and Chenille look at each other with worry. They were mad at themselves for ever thinking Poppy would ever betray them, she was their best friend. But a new thought dawned on them, what if Poppy was being held captive and was forced to help the bergen! 

“PH-fat” Bridget repeats and so she does strikes that pose 

Bridget could not believe what she was seeing.

“Hot lunch“ Gristle calls out, he makes his way towards Bridget, enamored with her beauty “Total honesty from a total babe”

Bridget giggles awkwardly as she does so onscreen and drops it. What was happening?

“And who might you be ?” He asks her

“Uh, um ehh-”

“Lady!” 

“Glitter.”

“Sparkles!!!”

“Seriously?”

The trolls looked at one another, wondering what they were all doing inside a bergens hair and to top that off they never expected Branch to be along with them.

“My name is LadyGlitterSparkles, seriously.” She tells him.

“LadyGlitterSparkles is a silly name!!” Cooper laughs

“Well my ladyglittersparkles, would you care to join me for an evening at Captain SnarFunkle's roller rink and arcade?”

Bridget turns to a hue of red. Is this really real? Her mind screamed at herself. She wanted to look at Gristle to know his reaction, how does he feel that he knows he was going to do this in the future, would he do the same thing now? Despite all her temptations to look, her eyes stay locked to the screen. 

“When are we gonna see Bridget? Why are we seeing this LadyGlitterSparkles?” Gristle pouts.

Bridget gets the sudden courage to look him in the eye. Seriously? The only thing different between her and her future version was the hair and outfit. She opens her mouth in an attempt to speak but immediately shuts it. You know what it's fine, maybe it's better off him not knowing yet.

“Would I?... Would I?”

“Yes, you'd be delighted!”

“Yes you'd be delighted”

“Oh, Indeed I would”

Inside the hair, Branch confronts Poppy

“When are you gonna ask him about Creek?

“Well, we have to warm him up first, do you know anything about romance?”

“Ofcourse, I'm passionate about it.”

“That's new!” Satin calls out

“I don't think that was genuine” Chenille assures her sister 

“Really?”

Branch rolls his eyes, of course she doesn't know what sarcasm was.

“Don't you know anything about sarcasm?”

“I think I had a sarcasm once”

“ Cooper, I don't think you spelled it right. “ Guy Diamond giggles.

“What do you mean?” 

“And I’ll take one of everything Bibbly, things are gonna get messy!” 

Bridget’s face flushed and she leaves her bean bag and “goes to get more snacks.”

“Ooh so fancy, thank goodness I brought my appetite”

For what looked like a romantic scene about to happen, it was ended abruptly when Bridget slapped him and took the first slice of pizza 

“ You are fantastic!”

“Well at least he wasn't offended by it “ Poppy commented

At the snack table, Bridget had gotten her decent amount of snacks and was ready to head back to her beanbag. 

“Bridget, compliment him back!”

Bridget suddenly wanted to head back to the  snack table again. I mean she hasn't really triple checked all the snacks there. Maybe she will even do a 5th check. You know what, maybe she’ll even decide to stay at the table forever. Yup. It's actually her new home now. 

Gristle fidgeted with his fingers. So LadyGlitterSparkles was Bridget. He was getting more and more nervous, anticipating her arrival. When was she coming back?

“I like your back.”

“No! I meant to say something nice about him back.”

“But I do like his back.”

“Huh?”

“Ooh your eyes, uh, ooh your ears-” 

Bridget repeats Poppy’s sentence

“Nose!”

“Skin!”

“Neck.ears.skin.neck .ears .nose.”

Branch wandered his eyes to the pigtailed haired bergen. She was stalling at the snack table, obviously not wanting to face Gristle. She wasn’t even good at pretending, she was just staring at the snacks. Branch never knew bergens had feelings for the longest time till now. He would never admit it out loud but he felt a tiny bit of sympathy for her. It felt wrong watching someone's life and their embarrassing moments in front of everyone and plus in front of someone she liked, if that ever happened to him he would probably try to knock himself out so he didn't have to experience it at all.

“Okay.”

“Your tee-e-e-th”

“What’s going on? Are you making fun of me?

Bridget buried her face with her hands. There was no way this was  happening. She shouldn't have gotten her hopes up in the first place at all. The title never did say if it was a showing of a future that was good.

“Your eyes!-” Bridget repeats, slamming the table in the process.

“-they’re like two pools so deep..”

“Woah, that's completely different! “ Smidge shouts 

“Who’s.. Saying this?” Poppy marveled

From far away, Branch picks up his bean bag and hides underneath it. He decides he’s no troll anymore. He was a bean bag, he was now an inanimate object now. Yea, he's not alive anymore. He covers his ears, wow, he sure does love the sound of silence, the sound that he's definitely hearing right now.

 I fear, If I dive in I might never come up for air “ 

“WHAT!!” Satin and Chenille both scream out

“ I didn't take Branch to be such a poet!” Biggie mused

“And your smile, the sun itself turns jealous and refuses to come out from behind the clouds knowing it cannot shine half as bright.”

The snack pack threw glances at Poppy then each other, they all had the same exact thought in mind. 

“I kinda do have a nice smile don’t I?”

“Yes you do.”

For some reason, Poppy felt very nervous when the Branch onscreen had looked at her . He had always looked at her before, but why was it now different?“ Poppy decided to look away for some reason when she noticed her friends all staring at her

“What? Why are you guys looking at me?”

‘Nothing.” Smidge assured her but had a faint snicker 

“ I can’t believe i'm about to say this-”

“Guys she’s going rogue.”

“-But being here with you today makes me realize that true happiness is possible”

“Woah.”

“Do you guys know what this means? We can make Bergens realize that true happiness can be achieved without eating any troll! There will be no need for trollstice!” Poppy tells her friends. Smidge lets out a victory screech while Guy diamond farts glitter like confetti onto the air. 

“It is. True happiness is a lot closer than you think. It’s right here.”

Gristle shows off the jewel on his robe

“Oh umm that’s pretty, I guess.”

“What do you think about now?”

“Creek!

Both onscreen Branch and present Poppy shrieked. 

“I knew he was alive!”

Countless thoughts dashed around in Poppy’s mind. What happened to Creek? Why was he in that jewel thing? What did she mean by “he was alive” ?

“Mr Dinkles, he’s alive!”

“Oh snap.”

All pair of eyes stared at Mr Dinkles 

“Whaaaaat?” Guy Diamond said in his usual autotuned voice.

“It can talk!?” Smidge cried

“Did you just call my Mr Dinkles an “It”??

“mew”

“I've been savoring this little guy. Tell me m’lady will I be seeing you at the trollstice feast ?”

“well duh I’ll be working”

“Wh- uh Trollstice feast? “ Cooper questions

“But that hasn’t happened in years” Poppy stated quite dumbfoundedly

“Do you think-” Biggie starts his sentences but doesn't finish it, he had no need to, every troll already knew what he was going to say. Biggie felt a tear stroll down his face and he hugs Mr Dinkles, rocking him back and forth like a baby.

“It!”

“It! You know, working it”

“You're not kidding you will

“Yeah! You're not kidding, you will, Because you're gonna be there as my plus one.”

“Really?”

“Assuming you’ll say yes?”

“Yes!”

“Yes!”

“Yes!”

“Why were we happy about that?” Smidge questions

“In the Meantimes, maybe we should find some other way to... Work up an appetite.”

Poppy could see her friend's spirits deflating. She couldn’t blame them after the new found information but she still has hope. There was evidence earlier that Bergens can feel happiness even without trolls, she just needed to get more proof. Poppy stepped towards the glass, across from her were Bridget still at the Bergen snack table. 

Bridget: Oh, yeah? What did you have in mind?

“ Bridget right?”

“Huh? “ Bridget was startled after being broken from her train of thought, “Yeah. Um, what are you doing near here? Shouldn’t you be scared of me?”

“Well we must have a reason why we helped you in the future, maybe we could become friends? “ Poppy inferred. 

“ I guess.” 

Poppy sits in a criss cross position, her back leaning against the glass wall 

“ Why are you still here at the snack table?” she gets right to the point. 

“Huh?” Bridget picks up a Kitkat sheepishly  “ just deciding on snacks! “ . However, Poppy did not look convinced. Bridget notices this and sighs. 

“I'm just not ready to go back there..”

Poppy listens to her intently, nodding her head and motions Bridget to continue.

“The screen told him who I was! I can't face him. He’s probably disappointed to find out it's me.

Poppy then steals a quick glance to Gristle

“Or, What if he actually wants you? Look at him, he's waiting for you to return!” Poppy jumps up and down with excitement 

“Don’t be silly Poppy, I'm a scullery maid that's not an ideal match for a king. He’s probably waiting for me so he can apologize because he doesn't have any feelings for me “ Bridget wails.

Poppy gets up and holds a hand up against the glass wall, she wants to give Bridget the biggest hug ever but the glass wall and her small size restricts her to do so. 

“ You’ll never know though, he does look very eager to see you. Don’t tell him I said this but he’s been looking at you constantly when you have your back turnt, that is not what someone does when they’re about to reject you” Poppy informs her.

Bridget wanders her eyes to Gristle, when he thought nobody was looking at him, he was moving his bean bag closer to Bridgets, she looks back at Poppy and considers her words

“Go to him Bridget.” She urges her.

Bridget takes a deep breath and before she knows it, she is walking back to her beanbag. She completely blanks out till she actually reaches to her seat

Gristle takes notice to her arrival and was staring moments prior but looks away as Bridget sits down 

“Hey.” 

“Hey.” Gristle greets her back. He looks like he was supposed to say more but he quickly shut his mouth

Gristle and Bridget on screen look like they are having fun, they are both smiling

And have a lovestruck expression plastered on their face.

“Soo, what’s your favorite color?” Gristle looks at her direction but did not maintain eye contact

“ It’s uhh, pink. You?”

“I like Red.”

“Red’s a lovely color” Bridget smiles at him

When Bridget was spun around , it almost all the trolls fall off but through quick thinking, Bridget spun Gristle before he could see and the trolls were able to get back to their feet

“That kinda looked like fun!” Cooper squealed

For a split second Smidge had seen that Poppy caught Branch bridal style, she looked at Guy Diamond and it seemed like he caught that scene too. 

Gristle was hyping himself up in his mind. Just say it! Just say it!

“When we get out of here,do you wanna go to Captain SnarFunkle's roller rink and arcade?” He manages to sputter out. He mentally yells at himself for saying it too quickly 

Bridget looks at him in awe and was practically beaming

“I’d be delighted to .” 

Bridget and Gristle on screen roller skated to make a heart and when they connected together again, the two leaned over to kiss but was unfortunately interrupted 

“ Your majesty. You seem to be having... Fun.”

“Noooo, not her!!” Smidge grinded her teeth

“Of Course she’s the one to ruin it “ Branch scoffs

“What is she doing there? I thought she was banished ! “ Gristle shouts

*clip ends here*

The screen changes to the next set of text : 

“There will be a 5 minute Intermission till the movie begins.”

“Oh my gosh, It will be our turn next!” Chenille squealed 

“Oh yeah! We get an entire movie!” Cooper cheered

“I wonder what they will show soon!” Biggie exclaims

Guy Diamond put a finger on his chin, “If the previous clips show how those two bergens got together, do you think it will show how two trolls got together in this movie?” Smidge gives him a sly smile in response. 

Satin had a hopeful romantic look in her eye “ I wonder who those two lucky trolls will be” she sighs 

Smidge walked over to Poppy who was now scrapbooking “ Hey Poppy, since it's now intermission don't you think Branch needs more snacks? A movie’s going to take longer than just a few clips so he’s probably gonna need some more.”

Poppy puts down her scissors 

“Oh my gosh! Smidge you’re right! I’m getting him more right now!!”

“Bring your bean bag with you! Movie might start any minute! “ Smidge shouts

“Umm, alright!”

Chapter Text

Poppy leaped to the snack table and scooped up as much as snacks her little hands could carry. This should be enough! A thought strikes down Poppy, Omg! I don’t even know what type of food he likes, he won’t have much to eat if I get him something he doesn’t like. Poppy weighs her options before deciding to grab 10 pieces of each thing from the table. Determined to cure a hungry stomach, Poppy breaks the laws of logic. By the time she grabs the 10th piece of the last food variety from the table, her food pile completely towered over her, the height being the approximate of 5 trolls stacked together. Somehow, the stack stayed rigid and there was a lack of wobbling.

As if she wasn’t carrying multiple food items with her right now, she calmly headed to the back of the room, where Branch resided.

Scratch that, not calmly-

Poppy was very excited–peppy to be exact– heck she was skipping all the way there.

Poppy passed by her friends; leaving them all speechless.

Because of their situation of you know.. being stuck in a room forced to react to people’s lives, they didn't dare to say a word because if they say something stupid like “ can’t get any weirder than this” Most likely, something weirder will happen.

One troll who dared speak up was Cooper. Cooper pranced up to Poppy

“Hey Poppy! I ran out of sour patch candy ! Can I have one from your pile? Just one? Please Please please please!!”

“Sure Cooper! Poppy replied

“Yay!!”

Cooper stared at the stack, there was one sour patch at the very top and another at the very bottom,

Of course, Cooper did the most logical thing and grabbed the little packet from the bottom.

Guy, Biggie and Smidge yell out in worry as he executed this action. Yet, despite their concerns, Cooper came out unscathed and the snack stack remained unmoving

Thank you Poppy!!” Copper muffled out as Poppy pranced away to her destination

Branch realizes he was still hunched up under the beanbag and immediately stood upright, feeling embarrassed.

Wrappers and chip bags reveal themselves after the beanbag is turnt over. He may have stress eaten and ate more food than he previously anticipated. If the screen is really gonna show them a movie next then he must get more snacks. He wanders his eyes to the snack table, it's so far away and it was at the very front of the room. He was bound to be spotted by the trolls and worst of all he might be spotted by Poppy, he kept a mental note to not underestimate her ever since she somehow noticed him even though he was at the very back of the room in the dark.

Branch racked his brain, trying to come up with ways to sneak up to the snack table but it all came to a pause when a sudden looming shadow dimmed his view. Trolls were very small creatures so this only meant one thing,

did the Bergens somehow find a way to get to the troll's side of the room? How is this even possible? There were barely any sounds!... Right? Wait, What if he was too busy panicking that he actually didn’t hear them?

Ready to face his grim fate, Branch turned around.

To his surprise, what awaited him was the ever bubbly sparkly princess.

“ What are you doing here?”

he quickly shoots out, it sounded a little harsher than he intended.

Startled by the sudden response, Poppy dropped the snack stack she was carrying, turning it from a snack stack to a snack pile as it now occupied the floor.

A can of soda rolled over to Branch’s feet. Before he could pick it up, he was ambushed with a barrage of apologies from the pink princess.

“IM SO SO SORRY!! SERIOUSLY I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT!-” Poppy sputtered out

“It's fine.” he calmly said before she continued.

“Are you all good? Nothing hurting? Hopefully nothing fell from my stack and hit you, that would be horrible!!!”

“You didn't answer my question.” He interrupts her.

“ So what are you doing here? Won't you rather be with your friends? “

The worry on Poppy's was wiped away instantly. Thank Goodness Branch didn't get hit in the head with a soda can, there was a possibility he would gain amnesia or have a complete personality switch! Branch acting like Poppy? That would be morbid, scarier than any horror film Poppy has ever seen.

“To get you food, silly! It's not good for you to go on on an empty stomach! And also I assumed you wouldn't want to move to the snack table anyway, I can imagine it could always be quite crowded and bright “

Branch stood there stunned. Poppy actually thought about his own perspective for ounce?

He moves forward Poppy, avoiding all eye contact with her as he takes several snacks from the pile. Did she really have to stare at him while he does so? Wait- it's normal to stare. She isn't doing anything wrong. Why is this bothering him so much? Oh my God maybe isolating yourself from others for years does have its effects.

“Um. Thanks.”

Branch takes a quick glance to look at Poppy while he gives his thanks. Maintaining eye contact is important while speaking to another being, he learned this in a book once.

Poppy unknowingly tucks her hair behind her ear and gives a warm smile right at him.

Never in his life has Branch’s eyes darted away that fast. Before Branch knew it, he was looking up at the ceiling.

Pure silence ensues between the two making Poppy drop her smile. Wait. Did I do something wrong? Poppy looked over to Branch attempting to read his expression, She couldn't get a good read as he stayed stiff, holding up a scowl as he avoided all eye contact with Poppy. Come on Poppy, you just got here! no way I already made him feel uncomfortable!!

“The movie will begin very shortly, sit down NOW.” A weird voice booms out

“Oh shoot, I gotta get back there!” Poppy panics. Poppy feels like she overstayed her welcome, Branch had been refusing to look at her so obviously, he doesn't want her there! I don't think he will like it if she sits next to him through the whole movie . She wants to form a friendship with him, not ruin any chance of that any further!

“Wait!” Branch shouts out

Even though Poppy did get on his nerves, Branch did not hate Poppy at all. So he was very worried for her when that mysterious voice that came out of nowhere advised them to sit now. What would happen to her if she did not do so?

“You have your beanbag, you don't need to run all the way there. Just sit down there.”

Poppy paused all movement in her body because she was taken aback “you’re ok with me.. sitting with you?”

“Um. yeah of course why wouldn’t I be- “ Branch catches the words he's spilling out mindlessly and covers his mouth. Unfortunately, he was too late.

“Awww really??” Poppy squeals. Along with that, she displays her signature overbite.

“ I- I just think it's stupid of you to do that when you have your beanbag right there!! “ Branch retorts, crossing his arms as usual. He can't seem to look at Poppy right now, the face she was making is stupidly cute and he can't afford to catch her stupidity at this moment. He can't forget that he should still stay cautious. What if the bergens did find a way to go past the glass wall??

“Oh yeah! Haha, I'm such a silly goose!!!” Poppy forgot she was not with her friends and just became self conscious with her use of vocabulary. Oh my god. no way she actually just said that. Poppy sits on her bean bag with a look of despair in her face. Get it together Poppy, he just let you sit with him and you're already embarrassing yourself!!

Unaware to Poppy, Branch was lost in thought and did not take notice of her slip up. It finally dawned on him that he really just let Poppy sit next to him.

To try and play it cool, Branch reached for a pack of nerds gummy clusters. It was on his left where the snack pile resided. Branch knows that he usually follows a strict diet but today has been very stressful for him so he rightfully deserves a cheat day. Additionally, one gummy cluster wouldn't hurt anybody!

It's not like eating another pack of gummy clusters would end in him spontaneously having diabetes so, eating one more should be all good.

When reaching for his sixth gummy cluster, he found that Poppy's hands were already there. Having accidently touched each other, the two of them were locked in eye contact. This wasn't even a conversation so Branch was utterly confused why he and Poppy kept maintaining eye contact. Despite his confusion, Branch doesn't have it in him to look away.

Is it normal for two trolls to just look at each other without saying a word or is that something that Branch missed out on when growing up. I mean I guess it is normal to look at each other, it is just utilizing your senses. Get it together man, you are just looking at someone, why is he making this such a big deal right now? Why is it taking so long for this goddamn movie to start?

Poppy was the one to break the contact, suddenly finding the floor fascinating as she retreats her hands.

“Sorry! I think I had a lot of these earlier so you should have it !”

Branch opened his mouth to speak but was soon interrupted as

Words finally display on the screen:

“Poppy and Branch’s Future (The Trolls)”

Guy Diamond raised a fist in air “Yes!!! I called it!!”

“Oh my gosh, does this mean!?” Biggie gushes

Smidge looks over to the back where Poppy gave away a gaped reaction while Branch stared at the screen intensely with an unreadable expression.

The movie shows a sequence of a certain troll dressing up, getting ready for the day. An awfully familiar troll..

“Ugh, there’s only one troll in this village that wears that muddy vest.” Chenille complained

Poppy side eyes Branch for a split second, obviously only looking for his reaction about all of this. Haha no other particular reason at all!

Every troll’s suspicions come true as the camera focuses out of the bunker and revealed the troll

“Tis the season”

A pink talking air balloon came to view ,

“ OOh! Branch down here looking like a whole snack”

Muffled chuckles start up , unfortunately loud enough for Branch to hear and he stares at the group coldly but with the new color that flushes his face, the snack pack bursts out in laughter at the sight of him.

“And, got ya!” Poppy onscreen picked Branch up along the balloon ride.

“Buckle up, kids!”

“Hey, love the bow tie.”

Guy speaks up “Hey Is it just me or is he actually more colorful than usual? The other trolls took notice of this observation and realized that he was practically a vibrant shade of blue

“ Mew”

“Branch gained his colors back?! Yooo Congrats B!!” Cooper he yells out

“wowww!! Blue is a good look on you” Satin chirps in.

Branch was still embarrassed about the air balloons comment. Is it too late to go back under the bean bag? All of a sudden, Poppy spoke which broke his train of thought

“ Woww Branch!! You do look really pretty with your colors!” Poppy chirps

Branch froze and was locked in place. Branch didn't even know there were more options to fight or flight situations. Wait, why is he acting like a statue right now? Say thank you to the compliment and move on like a normal troll. Wait- should he still say it now? It's been 3 seconds since she said that compliment to him, if he prolongs it even longer, it will become awkward. Oh no! 4 seconds! It's already awkward enough he'll just ruin it.

This cannot be happening. What is he doing? Even if it's awkward, he should have said thank you!! Now it's definitely too late because 10 seconds have passed but he should have done it when only 4 seconds had passed! Ugh!! What's wrong with him!

“Well you know, it is the holiday season. Which is why I brought you these.”

The snack pack immediately screeches

“Aww! ” Biggie coos

“Wait, they’re already in the dating stage!?!” Smidge jumps up and down in excitement

“WHAT! OMG we missed the part where they fell in love!?!?” Satin screams

“Chenille falls to the floor, kneeling down , her hands up in the air as she cries “ MY SLOW BURN! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Branch is convinced this screening must be an alternative universe. Come on, Poppy actually in love with him? That's so much a stretch, maybe she wants us to be friends but not more than that! Plus why would Poppy choose him when he has been belittling her, mocked her and even destroyed the handmade invitations that she made for him Like.. who does that?? Oh wait.. Me!!! Branch buries his face with his hands.

Branch feels like he is going crazy. He’s even reaching conclusions that alternate universe are real– which they are not. Branch tries to clear his head a little to reach the most logical conclusion.

alternative universes aren’t real, thats stupid. So this is probably a dream, yes a dream i mean thats the most logical explanation he can think of right now cause nothing's making sense. Only the most nonsensical things happened in dreams! Oh my Troll he really has lost it if he’s dreaming about him and Poppy reacting to a future where they might get together.

“Mitten-Settas! My favorite.”

Poppy sniffs the flowers and immediately sneezes.

“It’s too bad i’m allergic”

I take back everything

Omg this might be nightmare

Branch furrowed his brow, I mean How could he have not known she was allergic to them! He could have killed her! See this is why me and Poppy shouldn't be together, I'll just mess things up!

“Yeah. Too bad.” he comments with flower petals covering his entire face

Poppy continues sneezing before Branch takes the flowers and throw them off the airballoon.

“Uhh Poppy, I know we’re going on a picnic, but do we really need this much food?”

“ A great picnic will have a great amount of food!!” Cooper declares

Sounds of agreement from the snack pack follow after him.

“It’s not food. They're invitations that we’re going to deliver for the first annual Trolls Kingdom Secret Holiday Gift-Swap!

“ A new Holiday? Yipee!!! “ Cooper hollers

“Gift Swapping? Why haven't I thought of that sooner?!” Poppy squeals out

“First Annual what?- What happened to the whole balloon ride over Trolls Kingdom hang-out kinda thing?

“Kingdom ? “ Smidge questions out loud

“Branch, we're still doing that. We’re just multi-tasking!”

“Multi-tasking, right.”

“Even at her date, Poppy still multi tasks ,tsk tsk” Guy diamond sighs

Poppy then explains how her holiday gift swap will work.

“You on board, Branchifer?”

BRANCHIFER?? Branch was sipping on juice moments prior and was now coughing up a whole storm.

“ Oh my gosh, Are you okay?”

The usage of the nickname echoed in his mind.

Branch “ Yeah uhm.. I think i’m gonna be fine”

Contrast to his quiet reaction, the group of trolls below exploded with screams.

“THEY EVEN REACHED NICKNAMES!!!!! Chenille shakes her sister violently

“ When is it my turn??” Satin whines

“Today is really full of surprises! What’s next, Branch singing???”

“No?”

A yellow and orange basket was immediately thrown over to Branch “ That’s what I like to hear! Now help me dump these overboard.

Poppy began to sing,

*Like a fool, I went and stayed too long*

Cooper had his mouth filled to the brim with popcorn but could not contain his excitement as he pointed to the screen “Guys! Guys thats my favorite song!!’

The snack pack leaned closer to the screen, if Branch regained his colors in this film, would he also have a change of heart and begin to sing too? Now that would be a Christmas miracle! Biggie would just die as a happy troll.

*Now i’m wondering if your love’s still strong*

Somehow the Snack Pack was louder than moments prior, the living room felt like a whole stadium packed with roaring fans.The trolls could not believe what they were seeing AND hearing, right on the screen in front of them was Branch, the village grump singing along with Poppy! Not only that his singing voice was genuinely really good!

*Ooh, baby, here I am signed, sealed and delivered I’m yours.* They both sang.

“Oh wow, they both harmonize well with each other!”

Poppy could not believe what she was watching, I mean her and Branch both singing and dancing together?? She could not contain the smile that formed in her cheek, she turned to the flustered Branch, covering his eyes with his hands, as if by not seeing anything at all means its not happening to him.

Poppy dumps hundreds, maybe even thousands of letters down the air balloon as the Movie Title covers the entire screen.

Then that time I went and said goodbye

“ woah I have never seen those trolls before! “

“Are they flying!?”

Now I’m back and not ashamed to cry!

Ooh ,baby, here I am Signed, sealed, delivered I’m yours Ooh .Branch attempts to throw down another basket of letters but the rope was tied to one of his foot and he fell down the air balloon.

Somehow he was still singing despite being underwater. Synth swims past him and sings along.

“Here I am, baby . Signed, sealed, delivered Im yours!”

The scene switched up to 2 country trolls attempt to kiss but been blocked by Poppy’s letter

“ maybe One day I should explore out of troll village!”

“All right, here I am, baby . Signed, sealed , delivered I’m yours”

“Its all right “ The scene switches yet again to the Rock Trolls getting ready for a photo but was photobombed by no other than Poppy’s letters.

“ I think I made way too much.” Poppy cringes

“you think?” Branch deadpans

“Oh, yeah, baby I did not deny, deny deny- Here I am baby

You got-gotta give it to me, Gotta give it to me all right,yeah

“Cooper is that..you?” Smidge questions

“That's not Cooper! But he does look a lot like Cooper”

“which can only mean..”

“ SOMEONES IMPERSONATING ME ??

“No Cooper “ Biggie attempts to reassure him. “ That's your-”

“HE'S MY EVIL DOPPLEGANGER CLONE THAT WANTS TO KILL ME?”

“You have a sibling Cooper.” guy deadpans

“ You really gotta stop believing those comics are real”

“I HAVE A SIBLING???”

Guy Diamond with tiny diamond in his palm heads toward the crowded troll group

“What's that thing on his hand?” biggie wonders

“WAIT GUYS. HOW DID YOU KNOW I HAVE A SIBLING? WHOS MY SIBLING???”

“Ooh! Invitations! Guy diamond said with his known autotune voice.

“Me next! Me next! I want one! gIve me one!”

Tiny diamonds begins shoving the other trolls in the crowd away, in hopes of catching one of the letters. “Don't push, son! Be polite!”

“SON!?!” All the trolls said in unison.

“Congrats!!” Biggie

“IM EXPECTING? HOW DID THIS HAPPEN” guy panics

“Oh my guh i’m gonna be a big sister!!”

“Are we really just gonna move past my potential sibling here?”

Tiny Diamond receives help from Legsly and successfully acquires one of the letters. He checks and finds the name that he has received is his own father! Tiny Diamond gets an idea on what to give his father and begins a rap before he stops abruptly when he realizes Mimond wasn't an actual word.

Finally being met with something he is familiar with,, ( poetry) Branch gained the courage to speak up once more “Is Mimond even a word? I can’t think of anything else to rhyme with diamond.”

“What about island?” Poppy suggests

“I don't think it has the same flow..’

“Simond, Limond, Kimond, yimond, timond” She begins to list out.

“Okay, you’re just making those words up”

“ I know, I know! I'm just saying them till I actually say something that's a real word and rhymes!

“ How about.. He just uses another word to rhyme in the song instead of diamond?

“ But diamonds is a word that's too good to change!!

After a helpful tip from Legsly, Tiny diamond embarks to Rhyme o saurus to get his flow back so he can give his present to his father. The movie switches back to Branch and Poppy’s view and from the looks of it, they have just finished their balloon ride.

“Oh, wait. We almost forgot to grab our own invitations.” She hands one of the yellow baskets to Branch

“Oh man, gift swaps are my jam!”

“ Yeah, you do give the best gifts. It’s super intimidating” Branch replies back

“That is true!!” Guy Diamond chimes out

“ This is why Poppy is the best!!” Chenille sighs

The snack pack hum in agreement in sync.

The screen reveals that coincidentally the two had received each other’s name for the gift swap.

“Oh no.” both onscreen and offscreen Branch whispered.

Sorry guys, unfortunately, this fic will be discontinued. I will tell you the notes I written in the past to show how the story was supposed to go:

-Branch will look very bothered at all the broppy moments for reasonable reasons ( he is just like that one girl who will stare at their crush intensely but it looks like pure hatred from the receiving end.)

-Poppy is confused why she's completely fine , infact happy if she ever ends up with branch but miscommunication happens or whatever and she thinks Branch hates this future and she is heartbroken.

-Idk branch reveals that he does want it to happen but he does not want it to be forced . he propose to take it slow and build up a friendship first. Poppy agrees to this lol despite this they will unknowingly still pine to each other and act like a couple ( they are always seen with each other from now on and they will occasionally flirt but in like academic rival flirt way .)
