kai:
- kai naturally has a higher body temperature than a normal human body due to his elemental powers - he also never gets cold
- kai has adhd
- kai hates it when anyone touches his hair
- surprisingly, kai is a very good cook, and enjoys cooking mexican foods. he’ll make fun of anyone who can’t handle the spice
- when kai worked as a blacksmith, he kind of just accepted that it would be his life, with how busy he was just to support him and nya he had no time for hobbies or other things. after he first saved nya, he was very hesitant on leaving his old life behind; the blacksmith shop and caring for nya was his entire life, but he eventually grew with his family and didn’t regret anything
- kai is a bisexual king; he wears a persona of being smoking hot and acting cool around his fan(girl)s, but when it comes to a guy (cole) he’s a stuttering and blushing mess.
nya:
- when nya uses her powers, all the marks that she gained when she became the sea glow brightly
- nya likes to talk about and do hair. (re: ninjago movie bloopers, even if it is off set i think it’s cute) she also taught kai how to use hair gel to style his hair
- nya found an interest in engineering early on in her life, from fixing small things like lightbulbs and doorknobs to building the samurai x suit, which is still one of her most fulfilling projects to this day
- nya has a very good physical balance, having been taking private dancing lessons with jay for a couple of years
- surprisingly, nya is a terrible cook. she’s had several accidents when the siblings were younger where nya would undercook pancakes or mix up ingredients, and it came to a head when nya burnt the water at 9 years old. since then, kai took up the role of cooking for the two of them
- instead of a ring, nya wears a yang earring while jay wears a yin earring; it’s out of the way from getting caught or flying off in battle, and it’s subtle enough to know that they’re taken
kai and nya:
- kai and nya spend 5 minutes together after dinner on saturdays to say 3 good things that happened that week, a tradition in the smith family
- kai and nya have a 2 year age gap; nya was 3 years old and kai was 5 years old when their parents got kidnapped
- kai and nya are part latino and chinese, ray (father) being latino and maya (mother) being chinese
- if they already weren’t elemental masters, kai and nya would both absolutely be masters of fashion
- nya likes to teach kai about plants and flowers (kai wants to impress cole... a little bit)
