Max had unexpectedly ended up in the UK without any plans for the end of the year. Now all his friends were busy and it looked like Max would be alone.
He wondered if he could ask someone from the grid. They'd probably all be busy already, too. Max shouldn't have left this until the last moment. He sighed. Then he remembered the words Lewis had whispered into his ear in Abu Dhabi.
I am always there for you.
Max called him. Hopefully always included New Year's Eve.
Lewis assured Max was always welcome.
Lewis, apparently, was an excellent kisser.
