The new year started hours earlier for Daniel than for Max. It never got easier, being apart for days like these. Max vowed that next year he would find a way to spend his winter break in Australia by Daniel's side. He missed being able to kiss his boyfriend and wishing him a happy new year over facetime just wasn't the same as holding him in his arms.
Daniel called Max again when it was midnight for Max.
“The good thing about being apart is that I get to wish you a happy new year twice,” he said. “Extra happiness.”
