Chapter Text

(Cody)

Cody shifted and stirred, moving into a stretch before slipping out of the hole in the flooded old transport tube he, and his clutchmates had claimed as their sleeping spot. He looked around for any of his brothers, and although he didn't see his clutchmates, he saw a few of the others his age inspecting something on the seafloor. That's when it caught his eye - a piece of scrap metal in the distance drifting down from the surface, another brother snatching it out of curiosity, inspecting it before swimming off. Cody noticed it didn’t look like the normal debris that fell down from the Long Neck dwellings, and headed to the surface to investigate. He and his siblings feared and hated going to the surface - because that’s where the Long Necks that kept them imprisoned here resided, in their shiny white city. Cody stuck close to one of the city’s support pillars, and he inclined his head, breaching the surface as the sounds of the wind and waves hit his ears. Cody looked around, and spotted the platform the scrap had fallen from - there was something on it, smoking with flames here and there, it looked somewhat like the other ships that landed on occasion. But it was smaller, and in a rather sorry state. Standing on the platform, some distance from the smoking vessel were two Long Necks, and someone else - who looked around the same age as him, with brown robes, wavy medium length reddish hair with a braid behind each rounded ear, one being longer with some colored beads, the other short, and almost identical to the braid that sat behind Jango’s right ear. They looked confused, and were talking to the Long Necks. They had adopted a blank expression on their face - but Cody could tell they were starting to get upset by what the Long Necks had to say and brag about. The being possessed the same energy buzzing under their skin as Cody - the constant thrum under his scales that had always been a bit hard to handle at times, but Cody had always endured.

The Long Necks turned, and started walking towards the entrance of their sterile city, and the being moved to follow - only to stop, and turn, and look right at him. Cody stiffened in surprise as their eyes locked, and the young man seemed just as shocked. Cody stared back at them, holding their gaze, before the man turned to look at the retreating Long Necks, then back at him, when he finally turned away and followed them. Cody could feel waves of disgust, horror, worry, surprise, and no small bit of anger coming from the outsider. He could tell that those turbulent thoughts and feelings weren’t directed at him - the observer - but instead, at the Long Necks. Did this person hate the Long Necks too? Cody followed along silently from beneath the waves, until he reached the edge of the area he and his age group were contained within. Having not been paying attention, he had swam straight into the mesh fence, having to shake himself from his stupor. He watched after the person, and the Long Necks above, before diving down to find and inform his clutchmates of the situation. He couldn’t use one of the holes in the bottom of the fence to follow them further - not when visitors were here, the Long Necks always got more observant and paranoid when visitors were within the city.

(Obi-wan)

Obi-wan would like to say he had kept himself calm and professional throughout the conversation with the Kamino Beings - but really, he spent the entirety of that time contemplating why the kark the Force had decided that he, a Senior Padawan, was the best person to find this hellhole. It had taken considerable effort not to be sick when the… Beings described their ongoing operations with the Mer - a Farm, a Fish Farm for Mers, that’s what you could only ever call an absolute Sith aligned monstrosity. He’d heard of Mers before, mostly during his time on Mandalore - which had ended only a few months ago. The Mand’alor, Jaster Mereel, had collected all the information on Mers he could find after a Pod of them had saved his life around 24 years prior. The Shonar’ade - Children of The Waves - are what Mers are referred to within Mandaorian legends and historical accounts, and they had once been prevalent in the system itself. Until one day, a forgotten civilization decided to distribute them to many water worlds around the Galaxy, and hunt the Mer to near extinction. Even now, they’re still hunted for profit and sport - whether it be for meat, trophy’s, display in aquariums, or worse. Even with the Jedi doing everything they could, the Mer species were in a similar situation to the Wookies - where few Systems and Governments even recognized them as Sentient. The Mandalorian Systems were one of the few large groups - outside of the Jedi - that recognized their Sentience legally, but sadly there are no live Mer populations remaining within their Systems, and any attempt to seize a planet where live Mers could be found to protect them, would be seen by the Galaxy as an act of war. Just to make matters worse, many planets refused to allow the relocation of any native Mer populations - because the Mers were considered their property, simply because they were found within their jurisdiction.

But yet, here he was, on a water planet in the Outer Ring, close to Wild Space, within a facility with probably around three thousand Mer swimming within their ocean, stuck under a Force damned city - seemingly all segregated by age group, and contained by a complicated network of karking mesh fences. His senses could be wrong, but a few could even be karking Force Sensitive, and if that wasn’t an indication of Sentience, what was?

He had also briefly met eyes with one of the Mer, who’d stuck their head out of the water to watch him, their dark blackish semi-long flowing hair pulled into wave like curls by the currents with pointed ears jutting out from the inky black locks. The length of their stare made the barely visible gills slits on their neck stand out, their skin was tanned, with sparse golden markings that were hard to makeout due to how little sun made it through Kamino’s constantly overcast sky. The slitted, glowing golden eyes that bored into his soul, and analyzed him stole his breath, along with a unique, partially faded scar on the side of their face - one that likely held a grizzly story behind it - with the rest of their body fading out into the dark depths beneath the waves. He could sense that the Mer had been powerful in the Force - possibly enough to rival the Jedi Youngling, Anakin Skywalker, in strength.

Kriffing hells, he needed to call in his Master - and the rest of the karking Jedi Order - there was so much karking wrong with this. They’d forcefully bred an entire Pod of Mers they had somehow obtained, to produce all these other young Mer with plans for harvesting most of them, and utilizing the best ones - both aesthetically, or otherwise - to breed and incubate another batch. …Oh kark, he was going to lose his lunch, dinner, and breakfast, and not be able to eat anything for the next few days. He thought just being a slave for a while was bad - this is worse. So, so, so much worse. These Kaminii didn’t even seem to know, or more accurately, care, how karked up this whole operation was, and if he was being completely honest, he wanted to throw each and every one of them off the city’s ledges and let the Mers tear them apart.

Obi-wan had managed to get a brief call out to his Master, and explained what he could. Kark, he didn’t think meditating, even for a full week, would help with how he felt right now. He just hoped reinforcements arrived before he decided mass genocide of an entire species was a good idea - because he was already thinking of a great handful of horribly creative ways to kill all the Kaminii here. One of which included calling Jaster in on that favor Obi-wan was owed - from back when he’d helped stop a Death Watch assassination attempt during his time on Mandalore. Though he was positive Jaster would come regardless due to the sheer monstrosity Obi-wan had the fortune to stumble upon.

Cody looked around for his brothers, and found them fooling around with the little blond pup - the one he’d taken under his fin after he’d found him, crying against the mesh fences a year back. The pup had lost all of his clutchmates from some unknown ailment, and Cody had done his best to comfort the young one, and the little one had followed him home, shadowing him ever since.

“Can I try? My hands are smaller.” The blond pup whined, his tail swishing with annoyance. He was in the middle of shedding his old scales, and had newer, brighter ones coming in. Cody had begun to see bright blues mixed in with the usual white and grey.

“But your arms are also shorter, pup.” Wolfe said, his shark-like tail twitching, as he strained his body trying to reach, but sadly the scrap he was using to try and hook something outside the mesh came just short.

Cody announced himself with a few clicks before speaking. “Guys, I just saw something that you all need to hear.”

Fox turned to look at him, long flowing red and white fins twitching in interest, as Bly and Ponds turned to face him.

“CODY!!!” The blond pup exclaimed, moving to swim around him in excitement. After a moment the blond calmed down and pulled back to give Cody space. “What did you find?”

“Yeah Cody, what did you find?” Wolfe asked, pulling away from the fence and turning to look at him.

“A smoking ship just crashed onto one of the platforms, and there was this weird red headed guy. He felt like he wasn’t happy with whatever the Long Necks were saying.” He said, doing his best to recall it exactly as he remembered.

“Were you close enough to hear what they were saying?” Fox asked.

“No, they weren’t speaking like the Long Necks normally do. But I could tell the Long Necks were talking about us because I could feel pride shining off of them.” Cody said, shaking his head.

“Should we be worried about them starting another harvest?” Ponds asked, shivering a bit at the idea. The Long Necks had occasionally harvested a small handful over the years to check on their products' quality, or to secure a deal with some other strange land dwellers.

“No, the red headed one wasn’t interested in us the same way the others always were. Although… The Long Necks bragged about how perfect their products were like they always do, so I’m not sure.” Cody explained, “We should probably warn everyone to stay further from the surface than we usually do. I’ll talk with Kal, Mij, Walon, 17 and the other A’s to keep an eye out for anything that’s amiss, and I’ll see if they know anything about who this stranger could be.”

“Okay… Well, we saved you some fish from the Long Neck Lunch drop.” Bly reaches out and hands over a few fish wrapped in kelp.

“Thanks, Bly. I’ll see you soon.” He said taking the fish and swimming up to the surface.

(Obi-wan)

He managed to survive the rest of the Kaminoans discussions without losing his mind, and escaped to his designated guest rooms. He had rushed to the bathroom to empty his stomach, and ended up dry retching from the force of it. The Kaminoans had promised to fix his ship in time for him to leave in just a few days, but he told them he’ll stay, and wait for a few friends before departing. That was long enough for the closest Jedi he could reach to descend on Kamino, and start to kark the Kaminoan’s operations up. He took the time to call his Master again, and explain everything in more detail now that he was a little more centered - even the part where they offered him a meal, which had included literal meat from a Mer they had culled, and then put aside for a special occasion. He wished his Master could get here faster - his Master was only a few hours away, but to him it felt like days - and if he had to spend another day here alone with these heartless monsters, he’d more than lose his mind.

“Your friend - Quinlan - and his Master Tholme will arrive sometime tomorrow, and will help us slice into the City’s systems and learn everything we can of what these Kaminoans have done - as well as help us prevent them from doing anything more to kill or harm the Mer that are currently in their possession.” His Master explained.

Obi-wan was only able to give a small smile before nodding, and wished his Master goodbye, before turning off the com. He knew Quinlan could be a tease sometimes, but he could also be incredibly scary when things came down to it - his friend was going to make the Kaminii pay, one way or the other. He waited a while, trying to sleep, but he couldn't manage it - mind on the Mer below. So he got up, and snuck back outside, hoping to either wait for his Master, or even catch sight of one of the Mers. He waited in the rain, sitting upon one of the lower platforms just out of sight, allowing his mind to wonder. He is distracted from his vigil by the glimpse of gold shining subtly from below the frothy ocean surface. He turned to look at the dark murky water, seeing nothing but shadowed waves, and the depth of unknowable seas. He got back up to his feet, and wandered down to an even lower platform, level with the churning surface of the sea. It had slices cut into it, and pens that stretched into the water - presumably to contain a Mer for testing, observation, or whatever sick and strange things the Kaminoans had used them for during their captivity. He stayed away from the edge, since regardless of the Galaxy’s opinion, Mers were Sentient, and some could most definitely hold a grudge, and getting dragged into the water by a vengeful Mer was a sure death sentence.

Obiwan waited, and watched, and soon enough, a head poked up over the edge of the platform, as they supported themselves with their hands on the platform's edge. It was the same Mer as before with the slitted glowing golden eyes, semi long black hair, and tanned skin. Though now, he could now make out more of its features - it’s partly webbed hands with sharp, deadly claws tipping each finger which it used to hang onto the platform's edge. He could make out more golden markings on their forearms and shoulders, as well as webbed fins on their forearms. They were mysterious, eerie, and dangerously beautiful - he now understood why some travelers could become bewitched by their appearance. He could feel it was wary but curious - he gave a shy wave at it and their eyes narrowed as the slits grew thinner as suspicion bloomed within them. They stared at each other for a while in eerie silence, despite the sound of the pelting rain and crashing waves - before he noticed a second head popping out of the waves behind the first one. They had curly blond hair, deep brown curious eyes, the same tanned skin with no prominent scars, and hints of faded blue markings. But they also looked to be around 10, which means they shouldn’t have been in this section - not with a Mer who seemed to be somewhere near 17. So he could guess they had managed to find ways to get between areas without the Kaminii ever noticing.

“Uh- are they your friend?” Obi-wan asked, pointing at the 10 year old behind them. The golden eyed Mer tilted their head, then turned to look at the kid and made a surprised but upset chitter. The latter one gave a shy smile and waved at the older one as he gave a chirp-click. The older one continued to make an upset series of chitters and whistles, and turned fully around to drag the pup under the surface and out of sight - likely to scold them in some way judging by the feel of them in the Force. When the older one had turned around and dove under he had noticed the top of a tail with golden scales, white markings and a large spiny dorsal fin. Obi-wan continued to track them through their presences in the Force as they dove deeper into the dark depths below.

Long after they were gone, Obi-wan got up and made his way back up the City’s higher platforms, settling in to wait for his Master and think about the encounter.

(Quinlan)

He was tapping his foot as he fiddled with the game infront of him. They were between missions and his Master had gotten the game-set for him for times when they were stuck on their ship for long periods of time, to try and distract him because he tends to plan chaos when not entertained. It worked… reasonably well. He looked up at the sound of the door opening.

“Did we finally receive our next mission?” Quin asked, then frowned at his Master’s barely withstrain anger. “Oh no, what have they given us this time? It must be bad if I can feel your emotions like this, you usually have them more contained.”

“Bad? ‘Bad’ does not even begin to cover what your friend Obiwan has managed to stumble upon.” Tholme hisses out. “It’s worse than dealing with arguing for Wookie Sentient Rights. It’s worse than Wookies being enslaved and sent to work in Spice mines. It’s worse than actually dealing with the Hutts, or other slavers, and Spice Empires.”

Kriffing hells that’s really bad - what the kark did Obi-wan find? There was already a Sith Lord skulking around causing trouble and sowing darkness, as well as the many other issues in the galaxy. “So… what in the kriffing Hells did he find?”

Tholme took a deep breath, “I think the words he, and Qui-gon used was, ‘Mer Fish Farm’.” His Master said. “I know you don’t know much about Mers, but they're in a worse spot than Wookiee when it comes to being recognized as Sentient. Doesn’t help that they’ve been hunted close to extinction. But they very much are as Sentient as you or me or anyone else in the Galaxy. Your friend has stumbled upon an entire facility made to breed a large group for harvest…” his Master takes a breath - disgust oozing off of him in waves - before he continued speaking, “….We’re going there to assist in taking down the individuals responsible, and helping the many other Jedi who will be there to care for the Mer afterwards. We’re only a day away, so we will arrive some time after Qui-gon, and the other Jedi will join us in the next 2 days. We’ll be starting by slicing into their information files to learn what secrets and information we need, and preventing them from harming the 3 thousand plus Mer there.”

“What about future plans?” Quin asked, already feeling sick from the sheer absurdity of the whole idea of farming Sentient life. But he also knew the Order couldn’t afford to care for and protect 3 thousands individuals for the rest of their lives.

“We’ll find a planet to move them to - one where they’ll truly be safe - and hopefully teach them to fend for themselves. Though it may take some time - so this mission could last until your Knighting.” Tholme explained. “Once we land, we’ll be staying out of sight till the rest arrive.”

“And what are we going to do to the people who did all this?” Quin asked.

“Honestly, kark if I know. Some of us are just going to kill them or throw them to the Mer, others are going to tie them up and find some way to throw them in prison for the rest of their lives.” Tholme explained.

Quinlan nodded, “At least I’ll get to spend time with Obiwan.”

“Actually… all of your friends from your time in the Crèche are nearby, and will be joining us with their Masters, plus some others, so just be careful not to taunt the Mer - they can be just as vicious as a ticked off Wookie or a protective Mando parent.” His Master warned before turning to leave.

Kriff, Quinlan got the feeling this was going to be an eventful mission.

(Cody)

“There’s more of them.” Fox said from beside Cody as they both spied on two more strange people arriving - they along with the one that had arrived late yesterday afternoon had the same energy about them as the first one. Cody had brought Fox with him as his clutch-mate was the only one of his brothers that he knew personally who had the same energy thrumming under his scales as he did, but now there were 4 land walkers with it.

“Yeah, I think the first one called them,” Cody said.

“Why would they do that?” Fox asked.

“Well… they all feel upset with the Long Necks - maybe they're planning on attacking them.” Cody says with an interesting tone.

“Yeah, but then what will they do to us?” Fox asked, with a scowl.

“I have no idea, we’ll have to go ask Kal, Mij, or Walon later, hopefully one of them will know something.” Cody says, then he motioned his hand for Fox to follow. “But come, let’s check them out.”

Cody moved to swim just under the surface following the two new individuals as he ignored Fox’s protests. They followed them from under the waves and watched the two meet up with the other two land walkers. They watched and listened as they talked since it was easier to tell what they were vaguely talking about while sensing their emotions.

“I really wish I knew what the kark they are saying… It took us years to even vaguely get what the Long Necks were saying - and even then we can’t tell what they're saying half the time, unless it involves us and something bad.” Fox grumbled then dove down and disappeared into the depths before returning with a starfish in their hand.

“Wait, what are you doing?” Cody asked.

“Honestly? I’m seeing if they’ll react like the Long Necks do when we attack them.” Fox said and threw the starfish, it spun through the air and hit the younger land walker with yellow markings in the head. The guy stumbled a bit with a shout of surprise, and Cody and Fox dove under the water before the land walkers could react. Cody could feel that the guy Fox hit was somewhat upset, but the others were not only surprised but amused.

“They don’t seem angry.” Cody said as they stayed under the churning surface and out of sight. “Although… The one you hit feels like he’s going to personally pay you back”

“...I feel like I’ve just invited a lifetime of chaos upon myself.” Fox said, and he wasn’t wrong - the land walker with yellow marks was oozing with mischief and delight now. They continued to watch the land walkers above.

<>
(Obi-wan)

He stifled a giggle at the surprise and shock painted on Quinlan’s face. That starfish had come out of nowhere, and struck him across the face. Obi-wan had looked to hopefully spot the Mer who had thrown it and had caught sight of 2 diving out of sight, one’s tail was gold and white with a large spiny dorsal fin which Obi-wan recognized as the Mer he had seen twice before. But the second one was bright red and white, with a large wavy dorsal fin and large veil like fins and fluke. Obi-wan could tell the new one was Force Sensitive as well and - judging by their emotions - were testing them in some way.

“What the kark.” Quinlan hissed, and looked over the edge to try and spot his aquatic assailant. “Why would one throw a karking starfish at me?”

“They’re testing us - they can judge us by our emotions with their Force Sensitivity. It’s likely why they are even at the surface to begin with, since they can sense others; they can remain mostly undetected unless they run into a droid. Either way, the Mer likely know something is amiss.” Qui-gon said with thought.

“How would they already know something is up?” Quinlan asked.

“We can tell they’re Force Sensitive - and the opposite is most likely true. It is highly probable they feel that we are Force Sensitive as well. They likely have no true idea what it is but we’re probably the first Beings they’ve seen with it. And in their eyes, I just showed up and suddenly only a day later you three are here. If I was them, I’d know something was up.” Obi-wan explains.

“The only thing we can do is respond in a way that proves we shall not seek to harm them like the Kaminii have done.” Qui-gon explained.

“Yes, which means I should get to slicing into the systems and learn what exactly they’ve done and plan to do to them.” Tholme said as he hooked into their systems and started to slice.

“Did you see what the Mer that threw the starfish looked like?” Quinlan asked as he started smiling, and Obi-wan knew he was planning something.

“I didn’t spot them in time to see their upper half, but they had a bright red and white tail with delicate veil-like fins and fluke.” Obi-wan explained.

“Good to know.” Quinlan mumbles. Obi-wan squints at his friend. Depending on how far Quin had plotted already, this couldn’t be good… No, he has bigger problems.

“I’m in.” Tholme said as he sent the data to the rest of the group.

Utilizing his own pad, Obi-wan went right to how this had all started; who’d helped the Kaminii get ahold of the Mer, where they were found, and who they possibly were. The Pod had been originally around 100 strong when captured - though a few were butchered for being too old and unfavorable - but Obi-wan froze when he saw the images of some of the Mer. He knew this Pod, he’d seen them in pictures Jaster had shown him whilst on Mandalore… Oh, sweet karking hells- the osik storm this would kick up is so big he hoped they were well out of its path of destruction when it hit. He quickly checked to see if they had kept a record of how they got ahold of the Pod, and after reading a few lines and recognising the described patterns of armor, and the descriptions of ‘non-Mereel Aligned Mandalorians,’ realized it had been the fragmented remnants of Death Watch. Oh kriffing hells, Obi-wan did not want to be here when the Mandalorians glassed the entire planet of Kamino.

“What’s wrong, Padawan?” His Master asked.

“...I think I know which Pod they used for this kriffing nightmare operation. I know where we can move them to. And… I also know a osik storm the size of Coruscant is ready to descend on these fuckers heads the moment word gets out.” Obiwan said, looking up from the data pad.

“Why was this Pod so important?” Quinlan asked, looking through the information on his data pad.

“This Pod was the one that saved the Mand’alor’s life 24 years ago - the Pod Jaster Mereel had basically considered his extended family. The Pod Jaster would do practically anything to avenge. I’m basically obligated to tell him what the fuck we’ve discovered, because he’ll help us move them all to a water planet in Mandalorian Space. I know he’s got one figured out for Mer if he can get a hold of any - he’s just been unable to. But here we are, with 3 thousand under our feet, on a world in the Outer Rim not allied with anyone. All of whom come from the exact Pod that saved his life 24 years ago, and to whom he still owes a favor.” Obi-wan explained, and he could see the faces of the other 3 Force Users contort. And he continued to explain, he noticed there was some horror, but also a strangely delighted glee. This was a personal situation for the Mandalorian Systems, and by the time anyone figured out something was up? The Mer would be safely within Mandalorian Space, with a horde of ticked off armored warriors protecting them.

“I’m guessing you're going to call him now?” Tholme asked.

“Kark yea I am - the sooner I do, the sooner he can be here with a legion to take the city….and the rest on Kamino. I don’t like the idea of mass genocide but…” He holds up the data pad, pointing to the statistics on how long the Kaminoans were planning to keep this going. “I’m pretty sure it’s warranted at this point. God, I just hope some of the Pod is mentally stable after all this osik, or else I’m pretty sure Jaster will truly begin to live up to his Mandalorian Ancestors’ more brutal reputations.”

<>
(Jaster)

He groaned as he laid down on his bed to relax after another long day of dealing with the osik that had been seeded into the galaxy by those who predated him. Whether it had been Deathwatch, the Republic, the Jetii or Sith, or some other osik. He just wanted to sleep for a week - but there was no time for a break when you are the Mand’alor. Especially when the Mandalorian System had so quickly become the only thing holding a whole galaxy back from tearing itself apart. He’d just let out a sigh as he closed his eyes to rest - when suddenly, one of his comms started to ring. He brought it up to his face to see who it was, and jolted upright with surprise when he realized it was the comm link for Padawan Kenobi.

“What is it you need, young one?” He asked tiredly. “You wouldn’t call if it was important.”

“Ah yeah, Mand’alor Jaster I seem to have stumbled upon a grave injustice that I - and the rest of the Order - will hope to have the Mandalorians’ assistance with.” Obi-wan said cautiously.

Kriff, what osik did Kenobi step in this time? “And why, exactly, does the Order need me, and the rest of the Mandalorian Systems, to help.” Jaster asked - he’d help anyway, but he’d appreciate knowing what he was getting into before the osik hit the fan.

“I have found out what happened to the Pod of Shonar’ade that had saved your life some time ago.” Obi-wan said.

“YOU WHAT?!?!?!?” Jaster shot to his feet, his mind flashing to the memories of Jango, Arla, Mij, Kal, Myles, Silas, Walon, and all the others. “You found them? Who must I fucking publicly execute to prove a point- No, wait. Are any of them still alive?!?!?!” Shock and desperation bled into his voice - he had searched everywhere he could for them. His thoughts of them had been haunted by images of hunters, poachers, and the Republic - who still refused to acknowledge their Sentience.

“Going by what I have been able to find, and was able to get access to - around 47 of the original Pod are still alive. As for if they’re okay… I’d be surprised if even one was mentally stable and doesn’t need therapy.” Obi-wan explained.

“Who the fuck caught them?” Jaster growled. His heart aches for who might have been lost, and what scars the survivors could bear. But he needed to know who the fuck caught them.

“From what I can gather, a group of Death Watch caught and sold them. Likely to get back at you.” Obi-wan says with venom in his voice.

“What has been done to them?” Jaster asked and he knew he was going to regret hearing the answer.

“I'm going to quote what these Force damned Kaminoans said to me; ‘A small but diverse sample of individual specimens was used to seed a large enough population to supply the demand for Mer products.’ In simple terms - a Karking Mer Fish Farm.” Obi-wan sounded upset and sick.

Jaster understood his distress - this was so much worse than anything he could have imagined. Death by poachers could be brutal but quick, being stuck in an aquarium would be upsetting but at least survivable - this had never even graced his wildest horrors. “They…..they?” He stuttered out as he shuddered with disgust, horror and rage.

“Took reproductive cells from multiple individuals, intentionally combined them in a lab to create fertile eggs, incubated them till they hatched, then cared for them till they would be ready for harvest.” Obi-wan explained.

“H-how many…?” Jaster wondered grimly at how many lives had to grow up in such a hell hole.

“Around 3 thousand - ranging from barely 18, to the newly created batches of eggs in the incubators. I’ve only caught glimpses of 3, 2 of which are Force Sensitive.” Obi-wan explained. “We need that Mer Sanctuary I know you either have planned, or have already built.”

“Yeah… yeah. I can do that - just… give me a moment.” He said, promising to talk later as he closed the comm channel and sat back down with a ragged breath - death was going to descend upon that Force damned planet with a reckoning, and see that Mandalore rescues all the Shonar’ade.

After a while he pulled himself out of bed and started making a call of his own.

“Why is it that you contact me, Mand’alor?” Alor Kestis asked over the comm.

“Remember how I said we are not allowed to conquer and enact mass genocide?” Jaster asked.

“...Yeah… Some of the other main Clans weren’t exactly happy about being forced to remain neutral and peaceful unless we’re defending ourselves.” Alor Kestis said.

“Well I’m making an exception.” Jaster said, “I’d like you to gather a large handful of Mandos from the different Clans to help me take a planet in the Outer Rim and bring down vengeance on the inhabitants.”

“Wait… holy osik- who pissed you off?” Alor Kestis said in shock. “Do we take the Foundlings, or..?”

“Yes. We’ll keep the Foundlings alive. As for who pissed me off - they’re known as the Kaminii, and they are… scientists.” Jaster explained.

“What did they do to piss you off?” Alor Kestis asked.

“Remember that Pod of Shonar'ade that saved my life 24 years ago? Well, Death Watch caught them, and sold them to the Kaminii - who decided that the best course of action was to make a Karking Fish Farm with them. Now, there are around 3 thousand young Shonar’ade - ranging from 18, to barely having started incubation.” Jaster explained as he moved to start putting on his armor his voice laced with rage and disgust. “All of which will need help once we execute the Kaminii - whether it be teaching them how to survive, communicate, and likely more.”

“What the Kriffing hells… Okay, I can see why you're ticked. I’ll ask some of the doctors specializing in Non-Human anatomy to head over with us. Hopefully, I can find one specialized in marine based Beings. I’m guessing you’ll want me to notify the group you selected to construct a base on that planet you’ve picked out for the Mer. So we can move them there as quickly as possible.” Alor Kestis said.

“Yes, I’d like that. Can you also make sure the warriors you pick won’t try and shoot the Jetii on sight? Because it was the Jetii that notified me of this situation, and they’ll be there as well, and I really don’t want anyone who’ll pick a fight, or have a grudge they’ll try and settle.” Jaster explained.

“Understood. Honestly, that'll be easier than you’d expect. The older warriors still have issues and grievances, but the green warriors bore witness to you making allies of the Jetiise - especially after that red head helped stop what’s left of Death Watch. Even more so now, with the Republic trying to get the Jeti to get involved in situations outside of their mandate. At this point, even I would let them move into Mandalorian Space as long as they respect us, and our ways.” Alor Kestis said, “I’ll get to work. I’m guessing you’ll be heading there as fast as possible - I’ll follow you as fast as I can.”

“Thank you, Alor Kestis. I’m sending you the coordinates, so you can head there when ready. As for supplies, bring everything that you can that we’ll need .” Jaster said as he turned off the comm, and left to head to Kamino.

Notes:

So I bet you already noticed some major differences

Jastar is alive and kicking because the death watch assassin attempt ended with him meeting jango

Jango is around 4 years older than in canon

There are fewer ‘clones’ and they arnt fully clones
Most have him as h their bio parent on one side
Rex isn’t even jangos he’s arla’s but Cody had taken him as a sibling anyway

With jaster alive mandalorian systems are under one banner and stable

Obiwans time of mandalore was spent with jastars and his clan and friends dealing with issues so a new war wouldn’t erupt

Jaster adopted obiwan as clan

With the galaxy being brighter than canon wandering master fey found Anakin by following the whispers of the force
He was 3 at the time

Xanatos attacked the temple early trying to snatch Anakin
Bruck lost a hand when he turned on Xanatos but survived and is training to be a knight

Without a mandalorian massacre dooku hasn’t left the order

Palps got pissy and wanted the chosen one and sent maul to yoink the youngling

Maul is now currently in rehabilitation along side savage and feral(plo grabbed them from dathamir in hopes to help mauls rehabilitation)

Now Palps his sitting seething as the chancellor trying to plan and everything but the Jedi know somethings up
