Scarlet held Grian's hand as they stood before Mumbo's home. "You ready?" Grian asked, squeezing her hand a little. Scarlet nodded with a smile and Grian opened Mumbo's door, stopping the mustached shapeshifter in the middle of his tracks.
"Oh! Hello!" Mumbo smiled, waving at the two "What brings you both here?" The pair walked into the home and Scarlet shut the door behind her. "We need to have a talk" Grian spoke, sitting on a counter. Mumbo tilted their head and asked "About what?"
"So... You know the conversation we had a while back? About whether or not you consent to me taking on another partner?" Grian asked, glancing over to Scarlet with a smile. "Yeah. What about it?" Mumbo asked back, already knowing how this was going.
"Well. Scarlet and I confessed our feelings for each other the other day and I wanted to know if you would be alright if Scarlet becomes my girlfriend" Grian explained and Mumbo smiled "Of course I'm fine with it. Romantically or Queerplatonic?"
"Queerplatonic. I'm still not that ready yet.." Grian chuckled. Scarlet leaned against the counter and Mumbo looked to her "Welcome to the club. It was rather lonely" Scarlet laughed and said "Glad to be able to keep you company" Grian was just beaming in pure joy at the fact his girlfriend and partner were together with him.
"So how does this kinda thing work? Like.. Being with multiple people and the- What me and Grian are" Scarlet asked and Grian kicked his legs back and forth "Right. We have to establish things."
He looked between his two lovers and said "Mumbo, here, is monogamous - meaning he prefers being with one person. I am dating both you and Mumbo, so you don't need to worry about having to love Mumbo as well." Scarlet nodded slowly "So does that mean we all have to go on dates together?"
Grian shook his head "No, unless you both are comfortable with it. I wouldn't mind, but it would be nice to go on dates with you both separately" "I'm fine with third wheel dates" Mumbo commented and Scarlet nodded "I am as well - as long as you still give me attention"
Grian laughed "I will, don't worry. I would never love one of you more than the other" "I don't know Grian, it seems like you've been loving Scarlet more than me recently" Mumbo joked and Grian smacked them with his wing, rolling his eyes. Mumbo laughed and held Grian's hand, giving it a little squeeze.
"I'm glad about that then" Scarlet grinned before asking "What does it mean for us in the... The relationship we have?" Grian hummed "In a queerplatonic relationship, it's a relationship built upon trust and promise that we will always be with the other till we're gray and old - at least that's the rule set Mumbo and I agree with."
"So.. What do you do in this kinda thing?" Scarlet tilted her head and Grian explained "Mumbo and I have a relationship built upon being there for the other emotionally and mentally. There's no kissing - at most just cheek kisses - and nothing sexual - just hugging. It's different with every single relationship and that's what I love."
"So.. What would I do?" Scarlet asked slowly. Grian flashed her a warm smile and held her hand with his free hand "That's what we're going to discuss. Put up ideas and talk things out on if it's something we're both okay with"
"Sounds amayzing" Scarlet felt all warm with his smile. Void.. He made her so happy. "Are you okay with cuddling? Like.. What we did the other night?" She asked and Grian nodded "Yeah I'm fine with that - especially because you're really warm and Mumbo can be rather cold when they spoon me" "Hey!" Mumbo huffed, slipping his hand out of Grian's.
Grian giggled and took Mumbo's hand again. "Great" Scarlet was smiling so much as she asked another question "How- Are you okay with cheek kisses? Kissing? Further?"
Grian hummed, thinking "I would be okay with cheek kisses and maybe kissing. Further than that, we can figure that out another day." Scarlet nodded and kissed Grian's cheek "Sounds great." She smiled and Grian smiled right back.
"What about hand holding? And like.. Affection outside" Scarlet asked and Grian hummed "I'm perfectly find with hand holding... And I would love to show affection to you outside" Scarlet tilted her head "What about the rest of the server? They already know you're with Mumbo.."
"And?"
"They'll think you're cheating with me."
"Then I'll tell them you're my girlfriend - are you okay with the label girlfriend?"
"Yes I'm fine with the label girlfriend" Scarlet's cheeks were red. This whole dating - queer platonic dating? - was new to her and so it felt amazing to hear the guy she likes calling her his 'girlfriend'.
"Great. I'll tell them I'm spending time with my girlfriend and that I'm with both you and Mumbo" Grian explained and Scarlet smiled "Cool. I'm okay with it then as well" Grian smiled even more and said "I have been doing a lot of thinking for when this day came, don't you worry"
"I'm glad you did because I ran out of what else there is" Scarlet murmured and Grian laughed, humming "It's all okay. We can figure it out as we go, if you'd like. That's how Mumbo and I figured out what worked for us and what didn't"
"You should've seen my face when we tried to kiss" Mumbo commented and Grian laughed "He looked like they ate an onion raw" Mumbo rolled his eyes and playfully shoved Grian "It's because you suck at kissing - you converted me to aromantic after that kiss"
Scarlet bursted out laughing at what Mumbo said and Grian playfully pinned Mumbo to the floor, his wings spread "I don't suck at kissing" Grian hissed, glaring down at Mumbo as they were laughing madly. Scarlet walked up to the two and asked "Mumbo, you need help?" Mumbo managed to nod a yes between his dying of laughter and Scarlet picked Grian up like a rabid animal.
"Let me at him" Grian playfully russled in her arms and Scarlet giggled "No" Grian began flapping his wings, trying to knock her arms away, but Scarlet still didn't let go. "I'll teach them a lesson for saying I suck at kissing" Grian continued thrashing. Scarlet giggled even more and said, joking a little "I can prove their comment wrong if you don't attack them"
Grian stopped and asked "How are you gonna prove it?" He raised an eyebrow and Scarlet hummed, letting him go as her brain spewed a shy thought "I was thinking of maybe testing it wrong or not, but if you don't want to then I can think of something else"
"Ooo she wants to kiss you" Mumbo teased like a school girl and both Grian and Scarlet stared at him, red in the face. "He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to" Scarlet murmured, all embarrassed.
"I want to - just to test it out" Grian quickly spoke, his face still red in embarrassment. "G.. Great.." Scarlet mumbled before she leant forward and rested a hand on his cheek "I've never kissed anyone before" She whispered and Grian laughed, whispering back "Don't worry. Maybe you're a natural"
He leant forward and kissed her softly. Scarlet closed her eyes and void.. He felt so nice to kiss. It felt like fireworks at a theme park - all bright and colorful and yet it feels nice.
The kiss was short and sweet and all Scarlet could do was giggle madly and bury her face into Grian's shoulder. "And the answer is?" Mumbo asked, having now stood up and is now leaning against the counter. "He's not a bad kisser" Scarlet murmured and Grian grinned proudly "See! Even she agrees!"
Mumbo groaned, fake upset "You don't need to add to his already big ego" Scarlet laughed and said "I also can't lie about the rating of how he kisses"
"I think she might have a crush on you" Mumbo commented, joking and Grian giggled "Does she really? Good thing I have a crush on her as well" Scarlet rolled her eyes, grinning so wide "Me? Have a crush on you? Absolutely not"
Grian scoffed in fake offense and Scarlet moved away from him, going to lean on the counter with Mumbo. "And here I thought you loved me" Grian spoke dramatically and Scarlet laughed so incredibly hard, Mumbo laughing just as hard. Grian was beaming in pure joy, so happy that he's finally found two people who love him just as much as he.
Scarlet smiled right at him as she said "What else do we want to do? Or talk about?" Grian hummed before saying "It's up to you. What other questions do you have?" Scarlet thought for a moment, humming a small tune. She then said "Who can I tell about me being with you and stuff? I mean 'cause I don't want this be how they find out you're poly..."
"If this is how they find out I'm poly, then so be it. If they have a problem with it, I'll talk to them myself - but I trust no one on this server will." Grian murmured before clearing his throat and saying "You can tell whoever you want, I don't care who you tell. I just want you to be happy"
Scarlet nodded and reached out to hold his hand "Sounds amayzing.." She smiled, only imagining how all her friends would react. She wanted to scream about the relationship from the rooftops and show the server that Grian is hers. Tell everyone how this amazing boy is finally her boyfriend - would he like her to call him 'boyfriend'?
"What would you want me to call you? Boyfriend?"
"Yeah boyfriend sounds good"
"Sounds great"
Scarlet hummed and said, running her thumb across the avian's knuckle "I don't think I have any other questions, then. This was already a lot of information to remember today" Grian and Mumbo both laughed and Mumbo said "It really was, wasn't it? I can always give a helping nudge if you ever need to remember" "I would like that, thank you Mumbo" Scarlet smiled friendly and Mumboo flashed a smile back.
"If that's all, then I can walk you back to your home" Grian suggested, squeezing her hand lightly. Scarlet nodded and pushed herself off the counter, leaning a little against him "Sounds great."
Grian let go to go over to Mumbo, kissing his cheek before saying "I'll be back later. Be safe" Mumbo smiled and nodded "Will do. You be safe as well - I don't want to hear you pulled any pranks on the way here" Grian laughed and said "I can't promise that"
Mumbo rolled his eyes and Grian walked back to Scarlet "Shall we go, m'lady?" He held out his hand and Scarlet laughed, taking his hand "Yes, we shall" She then turned to Mumbo and waved goodbye with her free hand "See you, Mumbo! Bye!" Mumbo waved goodbye and the pair soon left his home.
They began their trek to Scarlet's tree home, walking hand in hand and not caring who saw. "Did you mean what you said?" Grian asked suddenly and Scarlet looked down to him "Hm?". Grian glanced up to her and said "About me being a good kisser?"
"Oh right!" Scarlet said before nodding shyly "I did. It was magical... Your lips are surprisingly soft" Grian chuckled and said "I'm glad it felt nice" Scarlet hummed before asking "Did.. You like it..?" "I did. It was nice" Grian nodded, squeezing her hand a little "We should do it more" Scarlet's cheeks grew pink at the idea of kissing him again and she nodded in agreement "We should"
Silence filled the air, a nice comfortable silence. Scarlet could live in it forever if it meant that Grian would be by her side. She just basked in it, humming a small quite tune, thinking about late nights of holding the avian close to her chest as they fell asleep.
Soon, the pair stopped at Scarlet's door and she hummed "Here's my stop" She stood before Grian and smiled shyly "It was nice figuring all this relationship stuff out with you" Grian nodded "It was. Thank you for being willing to learn how these things work"
"Of course! This is how you prefer to love and I'm not going to control that. I want to learn more about you.." Scarlet took both his hands into her hers "I care a lot about you and if it means that I learn about how you love, then I'm willing to learn."
Grian smiled shyly before slipping his hands out of hers and pulling her down into a kiss. He wrapped his arms around her neck and she found her arms around his waist. She pulled him close and all was right in the world.
A small whine left her throat when Grian pulled from the kiss, longing to kiss him again - but she didn't want to rush things too fast. "I'll-" Grian started, his cheeks pink from the kiss "I'll see you later. Bye" He kissed her cheek before leaving off.
Scarlet turned towards her door and opened it, stepping in and shutting it behind her. She leant against her door, giggling madly as she buried her hands into her face. She loved that avian so much, didn't she? She can only hope that this love can last forever.
She skipped all the way up to her bed, burying her face into her blankets as she giggled madly. She could tell this feeling will definitely last forever
