Chapter Text
The game had ended and Scar must've been sitting at that button for what felt like years. He was just... Waiting. Waiting for the game to finally end.
He felt like he was going to go insane.
Isn't this what the winners did? Waiting around until a new game began? Wasn't he supposed to feel all grand? He won. He should be so extremely happy... But he's anything but. He's just so lonely...
He sighed and closed his eyes, leaning his head against the button. Looks like he'll just wait for another while. Just wait. And wait. And wait. And let the time tick past...
Then the whole world went dead silent.
He opened his eyes and felt a chill run up his spine as he saw he was no where where he was moments prior. He was in some sort of... Void. Everything was so dark - like someone had turned off all the stars in space.
His brows furrowed as he tried to make out anything, but it was no use. No matter what he did, it was dark.
"Welcome."
A loud voice rumbled from somewhere within the void and Scar jumped, looking around wildly "Hello? Where am I?"
"It's not a question of where but rather a question of do you wish to be free of the situation you were in before?" The voice spoke.
Scar tilted his head, asking "What does that mean?" To which the voice said "Lone survivor of a death match - alone for the majority. One does not wish to live in these conditions, do they?"
Scar was quiet for a second, suddenly realizing what the voice was suggesting "Well.. No." "I offer a deal to cure thee of this unfortunate circumstance" The voice then offered.
A deal? Scar was amazing at deals. He knew how to charm and weasel his way into things going exactly his way "And what do you - oh great mysterious (and scary) voice - ask for in exchange?"
"A promise of commitment" The voice said "One lonely creature meets another and thus one cures thee of the disease of loneliness." Scar hummed, narrowing his eyes "And what happens if I don't accept your deal"
"I see you would rather live out your days in confinement" The voice said plainly and Scar immediately had panic rush through him once more - the mere thought of being alone killing him.
"Actually I wouldn't. I'll accept your deal as long as I get to see my friends again" Scar offered to which the voice said "We will see about that." Scar hummed before holding out his hand "Okay. Deal!"
Suddenly Scar was dragged down into the void by his hand, him starting to scream and squeeze his eyes shut. Suddenly Scar was thrown onto a smooth surface and he opened his eyes, seeing he was still in this only void - but now the secret keeper was stood before him.
Scar brushed off his clothes befoere standing with a groan, his body hurting after being thrown. He looked around before asking "Mysterious voice? You there?"
Suddenly a book appeared and smacked Scar in the head as it fell. He blinked in confusion before grabbing the book and opening it.
"Press the button and we shall continue."
Scar closed the book, pocketing it before going over to where the original three buttons were at - well.. Singular button now. He pressed the button and screamed when he saw a large green figure suddenly appear before him.
"Be not afraid." The creature said, sounding exactly like the voice that Scar had heard. "You're- Jeez.." Scar panted out "You scared the bejesus out of me"
"I see." The creature spoke. Scar looked at it ovee before asking "What are you?" The creature shook it's head "You'll find out soon." It then walked up to Scar picked him up like he was a toy "This may hurt a little."
"W.. What's gonna happen" Scar asked, both fear and a strange comfort washing over him. "You'll find out soon." The creature said before dropping him. Scar screamed as the stone - that had below him moments prior - was gone and he was dropped into the void once again.
He was in free fall as he saw flashes of yellow and purple soar by. He could've sworn the purple looked like a pair of eyes...
Suddenly he slammed against a floor and waited for the pain to hit, but there was nothing. He felt like he just fallen onto a soft cloud - like he just ran straight into a soft mattress.
He then felt himself sliding against the floor, like he was sliding down a slide into the mouth of the green creature. He tried to scream, but no noise came out. He looked around wildly, seeing the purple blur staring at him judgefully. He saw the yellow blurs flinch like they heard him scream.
He fell into the mouth and everything went dark.
It was dark for what felt like years before a bright green spark appeared before him, suddenly hearing whispers around him. The green creature suddenly appeared before him, walking up to him as it shrunk to a normal size.
Scar opened his mouth to speak - to ask what was happening - , but no noise came out. The creature closed his mouth and pressed a finger to its mouth, hushing him.
"You can't speak here - not yet. Trust me through this process and you'll be free to speak all you want." The creature whispered "Do you trust me?"
Scar nodded slowly and the creature forced his jaw open, pushing him down to his knees as another creature walked next to the first one. The two exchanged whispers before the second handed a mysterious golden cup to the first. The second creature then walked away.
The first creature pressed the cup to its mouth, drinking some before facing Scar. Scar sat, fear filling him. What was going to happen? What did he get himself into? He was beginning to panic a little.
The creature pressed the cup up to Scar's ajar lips before pouring some in. Scar started to choke on the mysterious liquid, terrified as to why it tasted so much like copper.
"Drink before you drown." The creature hissed, pulling the cup away. Scar shook his head a little, terrified. "Drink. I thought you wished to get away from your lonely life. That you wished to be free of the situation you were stuck in."
Scar let out a small whimper, still having not swallowed. "We can send you back to your lonely little life as you wait to get swallowed back into the Death cycle once again." The creature hissed once again.
Scar swallowed the liquid, feeling his throat beginning to burn. Tears began to spill out of his eyes and he started to cough, falling to his hands as the creature stepped back. "That's what I thought."
Scar felt like throwing up. Whatever he was forced to drink tasted like blood but it burned like fire. He coughed and cough and cough, but the feeling wouldn't leave his throat.
"W..what was that..?" Scar whispered out, his voice hoarse. "Initiation." The creature spoke, staring down at him as it grew to its typical size. "For what..?" He craned his head to look up at it.
"The Speakers."
