Summary
It’s winter in Hawkins, and Mike and Will aren’t speaking anymore. Living in Mike’s house, Will tries to be invisible, spending most of his time in the basement.
Then the power goes out — and if there’s one thing he dreads more than facing Mike, it’s the cold.
or
Seven nights in which Mike and Will have to sleep in the same bed, even though they’re barely friends anymore.

Summary
Everything intentionally hurt him, but nobody needed to know that. He was simply a blunt, rude soul. He doesn’t accept Max into the party and he tells his best friend, who always got called slurs, that it wasn’t his fault he didn’t like girls. If he calls Nancy an asshole or tells Lucas to fuck off, nobody bats an eyelid, right? It’s just Mike Wheeler! Completely emotionally unavailable, let him get on with it, right?
Right.
And then Will crawled through his window a few days ago and told him that he felt like he was losing him, every aspect of him, that he wasn’t himself anymore in complete tears and all Mike could do was tell him that he was right here and he was still him.
He knew Will was right.

Summary
"It's okay Mike, hey, it's okay."
"No it's not!" Which—okay—fair enough, it didn't feel very okay to Jonathan either, but he was so out of his depth right now. He'd comforted Will countless times, he'd comforted Nancy, El. Hell, he'd even comforted Mike a bunch of times when he was younger.
A lot younger.
He'd comforted Mike over a broken crayon, or a scraped knee, or Will being sick and not being able to go to school for a week—that one had required a lot of comforting—but that had been a long time ago and those were all just silly, trivial things kids cried over. Now Mike was crying on a dirty bathroom floor, blood tainting his arms, and Jonathan couldn't just give him a new yellow crayon to make him feel better anymore.

Summary
“Boris,” Theo says without thinking, “do people think we’re dating?”
“Sure,” Boris replies, “happens all the time. Probably because we’re both gay. Anyway, do you want vanilla ice cream to go on top?”
Or: Boris “fuck-me pumps” Palikovsky and Theodore “gay and homophobic” Decker realize that, as the two worst people on the planet, they’re pretty much made for each other.

Summary
“O-Okay, how about this, if you d-don’t find someone soon, I’ll be your boyfriend.” Bill offered with a smile.
What he didn’t expect was for Stan to blatantly laugh. “Yeah right.”
Bill froze, eyes narrowing. “W-What’s so funny about t-that?”
“Oh come on, Bill. You’re not serious.” Stan deadpanned. “You and me? Seriously? I mean, can you imagine?”
Bill held a hand to his chest in offense. “W-What’s so wrong with that? I have a good job, I’m not bad to look at, and I’d t-treat you great!”
“Yeah but…you’re Bill.” Stan insisted with an awkward smile.
Bill raised an eyebrow.
“You know…Bill.” Stan chuckled, not sure how else to put it.
OR: During a blackout, Bill and Stan talk about a hypothetical relationship, Mike helps teach Ben how to talk dirty, Richie and Eddie get trapped in an ATM vestibule, and Bev's just along for the ride.
