Work Text:
Percy was sitting in the Athena cabin, just tracing shapes on Riptide while Annabeth worked on some project.
He'd been putting forth a decent amount of effort to suppress his tics during this time. He knew that Annabeth didn't mind them normally, but she was so focused on her work, and he didn't want to disrupt that.
She must have picked up on how tense he was because she set down her pen and looked up at him thoughtfully.
"You know you don't have to suppress your tics, right?" she asked. He opened his mouth to ask how she knew, but his head jerked back and hit the wall and he forgot what he was going to say. "I know this silence is killing you" she added. His arm jerked forward and he let go of Riptide to avoid hurting himself. She chuckled and picked it up off the ground alongside the cap, then set it on her desk. "Yeah, no sword right now"
"Sorry" Percy breathed. His head jerked a good few times in a row- His tics were upset with him for suppressing for so long. "I just- Haha! Ha! Wow!- Don't wanna- Hades!- Be disruptive"
"If it bothered me, you wouldn't be here right now" the blonde responded flatly. "It's okay, Percy, I promise" she assured him. "I don't mind"
"Okay" Percy said, his neck jerking and a whistle forcing itself out of his lips. "Thank you- Loser!- I love you"
"Yeah, I love you too, dumbass"
