Work Text:

"Hey, Rachel," Gar calls out to Rachel who sat across the counter from him, "should I get you something too?" Gar questions. God, he is beautiful. Rachel thinks as she looks at the green-headed boy, "No, thank you," Rachel answered, praying to any deity listening that her heartbeat could only be heard by her.

"You sure?" Gar implored smiling at her reassuringly as if to telepathically tell her: "Hey it's no big deal."

"I'm good, Gar," Rachel smiled at Gar before reverting her eyes to the book in her hands, "if you say so," Gar shrugged as he approached Rachel.

"I'll be back before you know it," Gar assures the goth girl as he leans in to kiss her; Rachel meets him halfway.

Gar's lips were soft but slightly chapped, they tasted like the caramel tea he drank moments ago, Rachel could get used to this.

"See you in an hour," Gar smiled warmly at Rachel before giving her one last chaste kiss, "k," Rachel let out, looking up at the other teen with a goofy grin, sounding sedated and silly as she watched him exit the living room.

"Huh," Tim, who Rachel forgot was even present lets out, "So you guys finally figured out, and here I thought you'd confess your obvious feelings for each other on the day of your death days," Tim states while inhaling a bag of chips.

"What?" Rachel asked, looking at Tim with confusion, "Wh-what gave you that idea, Gar and I are just friends," Rachel insisted, making Tim raise an eyebrow at her.

"So...you're just gonna act like I didn't just see the two of you kiss?" Tim asked, looking at Rachel as though she was the biggest idiot since the flat-earthers.

"What are you-" Rachel paused and then gasped, "Gar just kissed me," she muttered under her breath as she touched her lips in disbelief.

"Something tells me you two are, in fact, not together," Tim said, more to himself than Rachel.

Gar grabbed a carton of milk as well as Tim's bag of potato chips, this time around he will write his name on the damn thing because he is this close to committing arson if Jason drinks his almond milk again. He grabs a bar of chocolate for his Rachel as well as a lip balm for his chapped lips.

After purchasing his items he happily skipped out of the store getting confused and amused looks from onlookers.

Gar was naturally a happy person, but today he felt giddy, to the point of tripping and falling.

Rachel was all he could think of. Her smile, her scent, her grey eyes, and her soft lips that tasted of herbal tea-

"Wait how do I know that- oh shit," Gar gasped dropping his paper bag to the ground.

"I just kissed Rachel," Gar let out breathlessly.

Yeah, Gar was never going back to the tower.
