Her movements were not fluid but as jagged as the lightning bolts she commanded and yet there was an elegance to it. He had never seen anything like it before. It was obvious she wasn't well studied in magic- not like him but she was very familiar with it. Her magic brewed inside her like a storm and she unleashed it when the time was right. It was a magnificent thing to behold. A gust of wind knocked the demonic creatures off their feet and with a quick flick of the wrist brought forth a wonderful dagger of lighting from the air.
The wind whipped her hair, and sparks of electricity danced on her skin as she continued to cast another spell with her hands. She moved as if she were performing some kind of dance. He had realized that she had trouble remembering the verbal components of some spells so she usually settled to cast ones that only required the somatic components. He made a mental note to help her later with that.
It was hard to not just stand and watch her in awe. She was as beautiful as she was dangerous. The smile she wore as she flew across the room to finish an enemy off with a shocking grasp was breathtaking.
He could feel the coolness of the storm she was conjuring around her. Amazing to see such a feat of power done so simply. Thunder and lightning crashed around her in a symphony and struck down each foe that got too close and passed over each ally. He could feel a distant kiss of a shock here and there but it never hurt. He supposed it was the nature of standing near her in battle.
Her forehead shone with either sweat or the rain that she had casted moments before. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes seemed to sparkle.
At the end when it was over he watched as she tried to untangle her hair with her fingers. He could hear remnants of her magic zap and snap around her in a chaotic buzz. The wind still surrounded her as well but more subdued, picking up strands gently as if to caress her.
He wished to caress her.
Ah
She locked eyes with him then and he watched as a blush crept up her face. She gave him a shy smile and he felt affection swell in his chest at the sight.
Well, he had been caught staring it seems. Now was as good a time as any to tell her how irresistible she was so he did. It only made her pretty face flush more but she seemed to enjoy the compliment. He relished the little disappointed "oh" he received when he told her this wasn't the time or place to indulge in other more carnal feelings. He almost felt bad for bringing it up but was elated to see a sign that she wanted him.
The rest of the day she fidgeted awkwardly around him but he found it adorable. It was obvious she was trying to find excuses just to be close to him as they traveled to Moonrise.
Oh how in love with her he was! He'd have to tell her soon before the end… if there was to be an end to him.
