Chapter Text

Chapter 1
Get in losers were going shopping

Crowley walked out of the shop to get away for just a minute while leaning against the windows pillar. he had just closed his eyes before someone tripped over his foot and face planted the concrete with a screech Crowley adjusted his glasses expecting a scared student to frantically run away from him. Instead he saw a plump boy who appeared to be 11, same as him and around the same-ish height stifling through his school books trying to remember the order they were in.

He'd noticed this all within a second but there was something rather odd about the boy. He was wearing (what appeared to be) large hat. Crowley giggled slightly at the sight of it as he held out his hand to help the boy who quickly pulled himself up brushing down his jumper.
The boy thanked Crowley before turning to continue on his path "Hey!" He stopped on his tracks and turned around "What are you wearing?" Crowley asked. The boys face lit up
"It's my wizard hat! Do you like it?" His southern accent shone through his words
"You know..." Crowley wouldn't of said anything but the boy seemed rather nice and he didn't want to see what bullying would to do a kid like that "nobody actually wears those"
The boy seemed shocked before removing the hat and placing it in his tote bag. Crowley only caught a small glimpse of the contents of the bag but could already see a wallet, a uniform, multiple books (including 'witchcraft and wizardry for babies) and a fake beard.

"What are you going to buy next?" The boy questioned. Crowley pulled a list out from his trench coat pocket. "A wand" Crowley technically already had a wand (though it was a practicing wand and couldn't cast anything more dangerous than a disarming spell)
"Me too!" The boy seemed to remember something "I'm A. Z. Fell by the way" he held out his hand. Crowley shook it "pleasure" he checked his phone (this was one of the only muggle inventions the wizarding world had ever really picked up on) he checked the time. There should be enough time for him get a wand before his father realised he wasn't still beside him. He looked behind him to see his father still talking to the cashier before turning back. "Cmon then. Of to Olivanders!" He smiled and grabbed Mr Fell's hand while slithering through a crowd of both new students with their parents, older students preparing for their last year at Hogwarts and the poor old sods who jut wanted a drink on a Saturday.

"Goodbye come again!" Mr Olivanders had just repaired a child's wand for the fifth time in the past year before noticing the boys wander in "Good evening boys what can I do for you?" His grey hair bounced as he lent on the counter. "Afternoon" Crowley looked around at the thousands of wands that covered the walls
"Good morning, we are in need of-" before Mr Fell could finish his sentence Mr Olivanders had already placed a wand in his hands, the boy didn't know what to do so he just blinked at it for a few moments. "Well" Mr Olivanders had always picked up whenever someone didn't know what to do. "Give it a swish!"
"But what abou-"
CRASH

Mr Fell hadn't noticed that while he talks he moves his hands. As a result of this a wandshelf had almost collapsed on top of Crowley "maybe not then..." Mr Olivanders gently took the wand off of Mr Fell and placed it back in it's box before pulling out another one at random. That seemed to be Mr Olivanders best method of finding a wand for someone he removed the box and passed it over the counter the boy caressed the wands bumps and indents before dramatically waving the wand around at the corner of the room at a dead plant and as if by magic (which it was obviously) the plant grew to be a beautiful green carnation. Mr Olivanders made a sound of approval "10¾" hawthorn wood with unicorn hair" he paused taking what he was about to say I to consideration. "I think it suits you"

Crowley attention has shifted from the closest wandshelf to the green carnation that had just grown from a previously very dead plant the wand that had drawn his interest was still in his hand while Mr Fell was jumping with excitement Mr Olivanders shuffled over admiring the boys tightly fitted red shirt and black coat before gently handing over a precisely picked wand similar to his father's Crowley tried 3 others (he broke a inkwell, a ladder and the door window) and finally asked if he could try the first wand he picked up in the shop Mr Olivanders agreed and opened the box "interesting... 10" ash wood" he twirled the wand in his fingers, examining it "with a dragon heartstring" the shopkeeper held out the wand and Crowley picked it up, positioning his fingers into the comfortable gaps. He aimed his wand towards the window he'd previously broken his almost ginger hair blowing through the slight draft "repairo!" The broken window reverted back he felt the draft stop Mr Fell clapped and cheered before stopping awkwardly when nobody else in the shop joined in. They both payed for their wands and strolled out of the shop together.

Crowley loosened his tie, it was the only freedom he had in his clothes. As he did so he felt a heavy sting on his left shoulder, he winced "don't think you can run away from me boy." a deep voice boomed behind him. "Put your tie back, you look like a mudblood" Without a word Crowley replaced his tie to it's former, perfect position. He didn't want to cause a scene infront of people who could be his classmates for the next seven years even if he really really hated that word, it's bad enough his father being his father never mind his temper "now move. uniform next" Crowley felt his father's came tug on his shoulder he raised his hand to say goodbye and was dragged along as his father mumbled about how he was going to be the Slytherin and if not he'd be in deep trouble. Mr Fell felt bad for him and knew then and there he would be that boys friend if it was the last thing he did.
